Beyond the Moons doesn't have a message board of it's own??

for the most part, i would say that the SJML (http://sjml.spelljammer.org/) is the BtM equivalent to a message board. as you can see (if you follow that link) BtM even has a copy of the archives, although technically i think the list belongs to WotC =)

anyways, i have found that there is generally a lot more happening in the SJML at any given time as compared to the SJ boards here. for example, there haven't really been any posts in a week or so here, i think... the SJML has consistently had 3-4 posts per day, and at times i've seen it as high as 20+ posts per day (and i haven't been around for all that long, relatively speaking). it's a bit of a shame, because most people who come here are going to find a blank page, but i guess a lot of the folks who play/like SJ are comfortable where they are and don't want to move =P

the silence here might have something to do with the changed terms & conditions. especially since that change (gleemax), the emptiness here is even more glaring than before, and at the same time the list has seen one of its most active times in the last few years (yes, I am that long on the list to be able to say that ;) ). In the past, most postings appeared here AND there - compare that to what's now going on!

The members there are very creative and produce a lot new spelljammer content (new crystal spheres, nightdruid's 'Moon of the Month'-series, compiled maps of the spheres, complete sphere guides, etc.) as opposed to 'only' having general discussions about the game. If the same terms&conditions would apply there, I am sure a new messageboard on beyond the moons would be up and running really quickly.

Yup the list is very active. I know I've got my own archives of it for some time now.

I was under the impression that the T&C for BtM required that it not have a forum, since that is/was already being done by WotC (no matter how badly).

From what I've been told, that would be correct.
