My first player always comes to the games early (bout an hour or so) and wondered if he could have his own little campaign. So thats what I'm gonna do. What I need is some help making a quest (he's a level one Paladin) and I'm thinking of it being in the Frostfell (I get to use my favorite book! :evillaugh) I just don't know what he's gonna do, and how to implement treasure and exp.

First level paladin? Well, have him smite some evil. What about pushing back a few snow goblins (or glacier dwarves, whatever... cannon fodder) that are attacking a village/caravan/picnic area. After killing the attackers, he finds out where they come from. He tracks them back to their caverns, where he fights their frost folk masters. Have him ascend to level 2, and maybe kill their domesticated yeti or something, to then give him a big bad boss in form of a cleric of Iborighu. Killing him reveals his place in the great and dark schemes of the winter god who wants bring about the next Ice Age. And right there you have the setup for an entire campaign that might go wherever you (and your player) want.

Or try something with neanderthals. The possibilities are nearly limitless, and I agree with you that Frostburn is an awesome book. You could even have him join the Knights of the Iron Glacier at mid levels, who need help with rumors of a frost giant jarl raising an army to overrun the civilized cities of the Frostfell...
