Yea I meant I need 40 city maps. lol. Im creating my own game world, I have created the continent with a lil photoshop/ fractal map generator. My story consists of 6 Major metropolisis, 4 of which are capital cities. 10 large, 11 medium, and 13 small cities. Is there any kind of random city map generator. Ive found the fantasy map generator, but i dont like its format it looks like someone played in paint. Id like one that could be easily translated into squares. I have seen the tile map makers but when you have to make this many cities it gets rediculas.

This is probably the best city map generator I have yet to find. It makes cities that actually look reasonable.

IG has 101 pre-built city maps, though their claims of random generation are not quite true.

There is also CityMage, but I do not recommend it. The roads are wierd and graphics comical.

Well, there is always the Draw feature in Microsoft Word.

Your best bet is a five hundred feet per inch scale (it gives little blocks of black as buildings but they have shape) You need to know the dimensions of an acre in feet - most medieval cities were at a population density of around sixty-one people (including Children) per acre.

Other Older cities:
CATAL HUYUK: 940 people on 32 acres with almost streets (all buildings roof accessed). -a sheep farming neolithic commonwealth, ancestor worship.

KARAKUM: 1220 people on 24.5 acres with no streets, The city is walled and seperated from the clustered-roof accessed buildings by a wide "Street". -a matriarchy, they worship a primitive spiritual concept of Good and Evil on both sides of a conflict.

A good site to pick up city and village maps is from the World of Meln at:
http://www.melnworld.com/englanniksi/cities.php3 The maps are done in campaign cartographer 2 and are not incredibly fancy, but there are several score of them and hopefully some will be usable for what you wish to do.
