Should be easy with just fluff and no crunch to worry about right now. Maybe it's the music i'm listening too (rock, and it's various flavors) but I was thinking of taking some fluff from Rifts and mixing it with d&d. Essentially I would take the 99.9999% of the tech out but maybe leave some of the tech wizadry. I just want peoples input on weather or not if given the opportunity to play it would at least raise and eyebrow of curiosity. Go ahead and tear me a new one if you think it's... horrible. |

Sorry, but most RIFTS campaigns I've heard of were powergamer breeding pools, where the only thing that mattered was who could kill who, and how fast. That said - the "tears in time and space" concept could work pretty well, but huge chunks of RIFTS are centered around technology... you'd be better off taking the basic concept and a few other choice bits (the Yama Kings book, for example) and putting in entirely new subworlds for everything else. Heck, you could even put in classic D&D settings as subworlds... especially the stuff from Planescape. |
