| HermitIX04-30-08, 12:01 PM | The parties patron found out that a group of Devils who have been tasked with the collection of mortal souls are trying to warp a local portal to the elemental plane of water so that it leads to the Nine Hells. She managed to find out the name of the Devil in charge by making a Pact with him. Unable to take any overt action to stop the devil or reveal his name while alive, she set up a trail of bread crumbs to help the party learn everything she learned after her death. Hopefully the party will find everything out in time to stop the warping of the portal. I am trying to think up some good bread crumbs for her to have left. For instance, for the first step of the scavenger hunt the players will be given 4 platinum coins in an ornate box. Part of the ornamentation of the box is a gem, this gem is really a "power stone" that lets the Psionic Rogue manifest Object Reading on the coins, this will lead the party to their next contact. I am a firm believer in beating the party over the head with any clue, so the same information will also be snuck in to the eulogy, and if I have to the woman’s daughter will also drop a few hints. If all else fails she will just send them to the next contact. At the moment I don’t have any ideas as to where to send them, each stop should give them some information about the goings on and lead them to the next place or person that will help them. We are in a desert city. It has guilds, a theater, rich people and a government council. I can easily insert practically any thing in to the city so any scenario you come up with, I could use with out much tweaking. My party will be level 4, and have a Monk, Cleric (Pelor Strength and Healing Domain), a Psion (who only takes Telepath Powers), and a Psionic Rogue (see link below).
