| TheGreaterBad02-22-08, 07:08 AM | I recently started my homebrew world, where the "goodly races" fled from the surface on magically created islands and flying ships (a la pseudo spelljammer helms called Mantri's Tears for the settings goddess of seafarers) The monsters and evil races (everything from orcs to demons) pretty much have had free reign of the surface. I'm working on a list of races that would be considered the "goodly races" that players can play as. So far the list is as follows All the PHB races (Half-orcs renamed Orckin, and breed solely with each other) Averial Elves from Forgotten Realms Assorted non-drow Elves (MM) Elans, Meands (SP?), and Xephs (XPH) Synads (ComPsi) Dragonborn (RoD) Raptorian (RoW) Illumin (RoDestiny) Assamar (MM) The races must specifically not be tied to some sort of evil. For example, Tieflings are the results of the Devil's experimentations to create a breed that could serve as ground troops (in the 1000 years since to goodly races called it quits on the whole ground thing, the demons wiped out most of the devils, forcing them to ally with the Drow) Races that are definately evil Goblinoids (Goblin, Hobgoblin, Bugbear, Blues) Orcs Gnolls Tieflings Drow Devils and Demons Illithind Koa-Toa Troglodytes The Giants Save for demons and devils, most extra-planar creatures are on their own. They will not included in the campaign at this point. So far that list includes Githyanki Githzarei Nagai Synad Any suggestions for races would be greatly appreciated. |
