All Ghillied Up [Archive] - Wizards Community

02-15-08, 08:44 PM I recently have been playing Call of Duty 4:Modern Warfare.I thought of making the level "All Ghillied Up" in D&D format (by medeviling it and adding fantasy elements) and using it as an adventure for my campaign.

2 questions...

1.Any rules on ghillie suits? *note:Ghillie Suits are grass covered full body suits.

2.Has anyone ever done this?I could use some advice.

02-17-08, 02:41 AM If I remember correctly (and I probably don't), ghillie suites in D20Modern grant a +10 bonus to hide checks made in the environment they are designed for.

02-18-08, 03:34 AM A Cloak of Elvenkind could be a precedent or even a fantasy ghillies. +10 seems a little powerful, but those suits really work well - paintball experience.

I just wonder what will you replace on the sniper rifle in a medieval setting though since even reneissance guns are quite inaccurate at such a very very long range. Though a magical one will suffice I think.....;)

I'm going to be using heavy crossbows or repeating crossbows.Here's a question: What happens to the draw weight of a crossbow if you make it out of admantine? Mighty X-Bow? :D

02-24-08, 09:23 AM I would consider using ogres armed with heavy crossbows upscaled to large size,makes an ogre into a light artillery piece? Drow hand crossbows can be used two at a time? The darts can be made of silver or based on the spittle of a Gibbering Mouther? Random Thought.
