| Lyinginbedmon09-20-07, 01:18 PM | This is going to be something of a blog about what happens in my present conspiracy campaign, a continuation to my prison campaign, Breaking Out. Main Characters Ayane Oki-Ona - Human Monk/Cleric/Sacred Fist - Inigo Montoya-style Cleric of Kick-Butt, works alongside F4-17 in the quest to find Dark Shadow and tear him a new one after he killed her father. Replacement character of Arthur Binkatsu F4-17 - Warforged Ninja - A non-Dead-Nick like Majus, who was originally made for the great war just like every other Warforged, but was then stolen by a Ninja clan and used as a plant, before the clan was arrested and he escaped Sieghard Le'Morde - Human Dread Necromancer - Dead-Nick White Squad member, he can produce undead children hermaphroditically, an ability he gained in the Mizu Omi Barrier. In addition, there are three new members to the guild, who are presently being tagged with Sieghard on a bodyguard mission until it can be decided which squad they should be placed into. Adal Wolf - Human Conjurer 5/Malconvoker 5 - New Dead-Nick Squad member. Enjoys professionalism above anything else, so finds Sieghard's laid-back demeanour very annoying. He keeps a Succubus, Minithet, bound to him through Lesser Planar Binding. Eldest of the three at fourty years old. Valr Asdis - Human Rogue 7/Avenging Executioner 4 - New Dead-Nick Squad member. She is very quiet, but very effective. She pretty much follows whatever Adal decides, respecting her elders. Very objective. Rick Heim - Human Warlock 5/Mindbender 5 - Philosophical to the end, he's already bored with adventuring life and finds Sieghard's playful attitude tiresome. Youngest of the three at twenty years old. Agrona Wymond - Elf Ranger - Dead-Nick Black Squad member Alinas Eletrica - Human Bard - Dead-Nick head of Red Squad Artillery Anastrianna Holimion - Elf Druid - Dead-Nick head of Blue Squad Public relations Arthur Binkatsu - Human Ranger/Sorcerer/Cleric - Dead-Nick head of Black Squad Archery ex-righteous criminal for killing his military commanding officer Aust Liadon - Elf Monk 12 - Dead-Nick head of White Squad STAR with apocalyptic dreams #Deceased# C3-1 - Warforged Charger Barbarian - Dead-Nick Yellow Squad member with some childlike personality traits, as in human traits Dench - Half-Orc Monk - Dead-Nick Green Squad member who seems to be capable of duplicating Matrix-esque stunts F7-76 - Warforged Cleric - Dead-Nick Red Squad member with very maternal instincts Hector Marduk - Elf Wizard - Dead-Nick Green Squad member Henriette Vova - Yuan-Ti Pureblood Expert with Doomwatcher - Dead-Nick Blue Squad member and the resident psychiatrist Leonid Nikolai - Dracotaur Archivist - Dead-Nick White Squad member who refuses to wear any form of trousers, and who has depression problems Morganth Stormcrow - Fanelian Wizard68 [Being rebuilt] - Dead-Nick owner with connections and abilities beyond virtually any other spellcaster on the Material plane. Out-of-game, he's known to have an expected lifespan of about 2500 years (He should therefore be dead by Einderseod year 3960). Morina Stormcrow - Half-Phoenix Rogue32 [Being rebuilt] - Dead-Nick second with an extremely flirtatious personality (But no capability to go beyond flirting thanks to Morganth) and Morganth's only daughter. "Prince Majus" - Half Dragon Fighter - Non-Dead-Nick amnesiac Ra'Ezma Barrow - Changeling Dread Necromancer - Dead-Nick Green Squad member, recently acquired an adopted daughter Rebecca [Slaymate] Raphael Jethro - Half-Celestial Paladin - Dead-Nick Blue Squad member Shadow Kami - Half-Elf Gorotsuki (Homebrew, Naruto mimic+Rogue) - Dead-Nick head of Green Squad SpecOps missing a tongue Simone Anatolius - Human Cleric with Aberrant Arms - Dead-Nick Green Squad member, the lover of Ra'Ezma with a personality of almost polar opposite. Thamior Meliamne - Elf Sorcerer - Dead-Nick head of Yellow Squad Melee The Bad Guys Given the precise nature of this campaign, I'm not going to reveal the baddies this time around. |
| Lyinginbedmon09-21-07, 02:21 PM | 22/09/1955 - Newbies First things first: The eponymous newbies. Adal Wolf, Valr Asdis, and Rick Heim were brought onto the staff roster this week, and were tagged with Sieghard to be on bodyguard duty for Minister Reddia Thornit (See Construct Madness). This week sees the start of the Great Exhibition down at the docks, where countries are gathering together to show off their latest magical and technological achievements for the year. Down at the docks, there was understandably a few misunderstandings over Minithet, Adal's bound Succubus, which were quickly resolved either by Adal himself or the endentured Minithet. Reddia and Sieghard caught up after a long while apart, which immediately annoyed the newbies because of it's blatant disregard for professionalism. After a while, they arrived at the docking for the O'Hara Foundation's greatship (O'Hara Foundation is an Olympia company specialising in magical application to technology, like using Wall of Fire to make a steam-driven boat). The quintet explored the ship, Sieghard making numerous observations on the design and function, including the mass of apparently superfluous pipes around the ship. However, things weren't quiet, as outside he found the ship's mage Lloyd arguing with an aquatic half-elf by the name of Edward...Yuge, his son. Apparently, when Lloyd and Edward parted ways after a massive dispute, Lloyd took with him to Mizu Omi the plans and research for a magitech device known as the Steamball. Lloyd wanted it to improve the lives of others, Edward wanted to use it for power, such as military applications. Sieghard denied Edward's request for Lloyd to hand over the designs, even under the very tempting offer of upgrading the Pearl's weapons and propulsion with O'Hara technology. Nearby was Lloyd's grandson, the aquatic half-elf James, who had followed his father to the Exhibition. After the dispute, James wandered back to the ship with Lloyd to catch up after the past few hundred years (Meaning he wanted to know everything about James and James wanted to know everything about Lloyd, having heard much). After the dispute, the newbies were very much annoyed with their peer, and voiced it quite assertively whilst Reddia was looking over the next stand down (Minithet kept an eye on her with a couple of Fiendish Tigers). Sieghard didn't quite resolve the issue, period, in fact he basically just admitted to being laid back and unprofessional, and then offered to buy everyone, Reddia included, a sample of a new sugar-based food from the Gnomish stalls, called "cottoned candy". It was a tad tasteless, but very enjoyable. The day ended with everyone returning home, Adal and the newbies riding on his newly-bound Nightmare whilst Minithet flew above Reddia's carriage, where Sieghard ensured she was safe. He had sent a pair of skeletons to keep an eye on the Black Pearl and Edward, but nothing turned up. The newbies swiftly returned to the headquarters, whilst Sieghard and Minithet stayed to escort Reddia right back to her home. Afterwards, Sieghard accompanied Minithet to the stables where Adal was keeping his Nightmare (Affectionately called "Banshee"). Because stepping inside the headquarters would cause Mother to go postal and announce an evil presence, Minithet was sleeping in the stables with Banshee. Sieghard expressed some sympathy for Minithet, named so Adal could keep binding her, forced to wear clothes far less revealing ("Farm wife's clothing" was the repeated description), and now forced to stick in the stables all night, he could understand her cynical nature. Tactical Notes: Mostly, we introduced the newbies here. They're meant to be a sarcastic and cynical counter to Sieghard's antics, and hopefully they'll be able to keep him on track more than thinking up new ways to destroy the multiverse (Incarnum black holes are his latest idea). Reddia returns, but Blue probably won't be making much of an appearance while he's setting up the new construct country. The Great Exhibition is lasting several weeks, so Sieghard and the newbies will be around the docks for quite some time. A notice: There won't be a session this week (22/09/2007), because F4's player is trying to sort out his coursework and other schoolwork, Sieghard's player is visiting friends in Newcastle he hasn't seen for years, and I have such a bad cold I doubt I could make any villains seem intimidating... |
| Lyinginbedmon10-03-07, 03:42 PM | 29/09/1956* - Malcontent The day started fairly poorly when there was a ruckus about the headquarters that Nikolai's family bracelet, the last thing he had of them after being deserted, had gone missing. As it turned out, it was in Sieghard's cot, so he left hurriedly before the irate Dracotaur found him, but couldn't give any explanation to it's appearance there. The newbies and Sieghard once again followed Reddia about the docks looking at the exhibits, shaking hands, kissing babies, etc. There appeared to be a stranger in a long black trenchcoat and goggles following the group, who Sieghard made note of. He asked Sieghard for his autograph, introducing himself as the Human Monk/Ninja Thomas (Andrew) River** However, very loud bangs were soon heard coming from near the Black Pearl, so Sieghard hurried off to find out what was going on. As it turned out, the O'Hara Foundation was demonstrating one of their new "light bombards" to give a comparison with the ship's ballistae. A number of figures were thrown around, in an effort to make the ballistae of the Black Pearl seem useless in comparison. The aim of the salesman was to get Sieghard to want the bombards and then hand over the Steamball designs in trade. In spite of their efforts, Sieghard remained resolute over defending Lloyd's decision. On the other hand, they were very nice bombards, at least that's what River though, having followed Sieghard all the way. He approached the bombards and was stopped by O'Hara personnel, who he quickly disabled. Sieghard retaliated and started opening fire on Thomas, who pulled out his Quickloading hand crossbows and returned the favour. Smoke, black tentacles, and ballista fire all transpired long before a pair of Celestial Griffons (Courtesy of Adal) grappled the pair. By this point in time, the salesman had been immolated and severe collateral damage had been inflicted on the dock platform. Adal and the other newbies made profuse apologies to Reddia and everyone else that hadn't fled the scene once the Starburst ballista had fired, and promised that Sieghard would pay for the damages and make a full apology personally. River defended himself as self-defense, and his Bluff check made it a hard game to dispute his claim. In the end, Sieghard was riding the top of the carriage back home as a punishment, whilst River took a hired horse. He later applied for a position in the Dead-Nick Squad to Morina, who is presently running a background check on him. Sieghard got bored on the carriage and successfully landed on the ground from the moving vehicle without injury, deciding instead to walk. While walking, he met an undisguised succubus on the side of the road, looking to hitch a ride to Beldor. She wasn't having much success, since the sign she was holding was written in Infernal and all she was getting was the loud hooting and proselytising of passers-by. Sieghard talked with her, and found out that she was looking for her sister, Minithet, who she hasn't seen in a few months. Sieghard summoned a Zombie Wyvern and flew both back to the city, where she dropped off to avoid the Guards and keep looking. Sieghard took her to the stables he thought Minithet was staying in with Banshee, but found only the latter. Regardless, Malconthet thanked Sieghard and set off to find good lodgings for the time being. Yes, Malconthet, but not the one you're thinking of. As she puts it, there is a Queen of Seduction on most of the Layers, the difference being that Malcanthet is ruler of the 507th, whilst Malconthet is a general on the 83rd Layer, ruled by her father, Ameranthis. She also explained a little bit about the reproduction process of demons, but that's for another board. Either way, Sieghard shuffled a little bit away from her on the Wyvern when he learned the name. However, bad news seems to follow the adventurers, and the Black Pearl was burgled during the night. More on that next week. Tactical Notes: Minithet's big sister Malconthet, Queen of Seduction on the 83rd Layer, now that's a family! Things are certainly starting to heat up between the senior members and the newer Dead-Nicks however, with things apparently being stolen and Sieghard's behaviour being extremely unprofessional, there's a bit of an internal affairs dealy happening. The main issue right now however is O'Hara and Yuge. Also, meet Thomas River, the new character of F4-17's player, because apparently the latter have been getting too powerful for his tastes, so he dialed it back a bit. *It appears I've been misdating my posts, the present in-game year is 1956, not 55, 44 years after the city of Paradigm sank in 1912. Apologies everyone. **Geek points for whoever figures out who this name is linked to |
| Lyinginbedmon11-03-07, 07:17 AM | Yikes, how long have I not posted here?! I will definitely be updating later today, I fervently promise! |
| Lyinginbedmon11-03-07, 03:11 PM | I'll fill in the other missing date(s) later on, for now this is the freshest in my mind. 03/11/1956 - Tell Tale Today started with a bang, as the Black Pearl was holed by an explosion near the hull, forcing the crew to rapidly start repairing and bailing it out before it sank to the bottom of the docks, beneath 3 metres (~10 ft.) of water. Concurrently, Yuge went missing. Sieghard was given the appropriate leave by Reddia to go and investigate his disappearance, and managed to discern from bystanders that there had been a struggle between several uniformed men and an old man with distinctive blueish skin (Concealed as it was) shortly after the explosion. Sieghard donned a disguise, and headed inside the O'Hara Foundation's greatship to look for his missing crewman. He managed to make his way to the lower decks, and located Yuge, bound, shackled, and gagged, inside a small locked room. He did a quick check for traps and made his way to the guards' breakroom a floor up, where he managed to find some keys amidst the preserves. Immediately prior to that, he checked out the engine room, where three shielded objects seemed to be the focus of the room, whose walls and ceiling were coated in pipes of all sizes and shaped. He released Yuge, similarly disguised him, and they once again investigated the engineering room. However, it was largely evacuated the second time, with about 20 guards and only 6 engineers, plus Edward. They quickly retreated, and Sieghard locked them in the engine room on the way out. A few minutes after leaving the ship, a massive cloud of steam erupted from it, reaching a peak height of over 80 ft. Sieghard quickly investigated and as the steam cleared it appeared as though the greatship had, from the compartments in its hull, produced a pair of crude struts on which to stand, whilst the figurehead had seemingly come to life. Not long afterwards, the sides of the ship produced a pair of arms, one carrying an axe blade as big as a house, the other a large stone maul. It stood, some 70 ft. tall, on the dock, which creaked quietly beneath its stern footing. The Pearl took flight invisibly and Sieghard managed to land on the deck amidst 18 cannons with few people noticing him. The Beldor Navy arrived soon and started firing ballistae at the ship, to little effect. It retaliated with the steam-powered cannons, severely damaging several ships and sinking more than a few. Sieghard meanwhile attempted to clamber down the side-mounted ladder to the lower decks (We briefly discussed the design issues with this, but agreed it was probably due to the necessary mechanics inside), though he fumbled both a Move Silently and Climb check to do so and ended up clinging by an arm to the ladder of the mobile beast (I'm calling it a Greatforged, personally). He cast darkness on the wall side, regained his footing, and then produced a skeleton, which he clothed in his own garb. He then clambered inside the ship and had the skeleton leap to it's technical-death, so that the cannon crew would assume he had fallen to his death. Wandering about the internals, he happened across what appeared to be an engineering room that controlled steam flow to the cannons. He used acid fog on a pipe used for communicating and managed to kill a good few of the engineers present. And there we end on our cliff hanger. ;) Tactical Notes: Again, sorry for the lack of updates, I can't really remember if there was a good reason so all I can do is apologise. Fortunately, not much has been missed, save perhaps some ominous foreshadowing here and there. The Greatforged is basically a Warforged Titan advanced to 55 HD and Colossal size. I gave it some ranks in Swim as well from the new HD, since it is a ship after all. Total CR 20. And a quick note: When the ship falls, the campaign won't be over. |
| drhelt03-13-08, 12:45 PM | You have to be at least a 6th Warlock to be a Mindbender. |
| Lyinginbedmon03-13-08, 01:39 PM | It's a bit late for that to matter now... |
