| Serge_P09-14-07, 04:11 PM | I have this campaign idea: Eternal Adam: The Awakening Re-Evolution Background: The mighty (Chaotic Stupid) Pixie Blast-Mage (Ultimate magus/archmage/Wizard/warmage) Koby the Pixie had reached epic power, and was researching new spells, each mightier then other. Even the weaker ones could annihilate a whole citadel. And every spell caused the summoning of a blackball. Finally, he invented the mightiest spell ever, omni-death. When he cast it, he noticed that he miscalculated the power, and that it was mightier then he could imagine. The blast annihilated almost all life in the material plane, it dried out all water, it grounded all mountains to dust, it evened the ground, flattening hills and filling valleys, it bloated out the sun, banished all outsider, all fey fled to their plane and covered the material plane in a nuclear winter, freezing Koby inside a crystal shard of magical greenish transparent uranium-esque ice. Only the mightiest dragons, the blackballs, and the mightiest monsters survived, but they all where frozen in the magical ice and lied beneath the ground, where they lay in stasis. Only the mightiest artefacts, and magic inscribed in the ground (Nasca line-style symbols) made by geomancers remained. All was dead, all was darkness. The awakening: 100 millions years later, the clouds started to sett, the sun started to shine, water came. Life has cometh. Life evolved, and 400 million years later, the human an the Neanderthals started to roam a world, only to discover the magical symbols, and magic, and all the artefacts. To find that they where not the first form of life. And suddenly, some kind of strange portals start to appear. It is the characters mission to survive, investigate the portals, start civilisations, create magic items, create culture, become heroes, become legends, become myths of origin. _______________________________ Rules: No spell books: You have to write on wood/stone/bone/ with tattoos/ on stone monuments.(CAr) Written language: Only known to the ancients (Those who where frozen), and creatures non-native to the material plane. All others are illiterate. Illiterate characters can only learn reading from ancients or outsiders. Magic writings and classes: Wizards and other classes who relay on spellbooks may only write with geomancer symbols (CAr) (Which is known to every wizard and similar class). Weapons and technology: Early stone age. Grafts are not invented. Monsters: Mostly animals and dinosaurs and giants and monstrous humanoids. Some dragons (Ancient or older, Eggs do exist, but none has melted and hatched yet). outsiders and fey (See portals). Magical creatures that was created to magical hybridisation (I.E. Owlbears do not exist until someone invents them). Aberrations: Only elder brains and their tadpoles (who where frozen). Other creatures may exist. Constructs are not known how to do, but many have been found in ice. Undead: resent earthquakes might have thrown out some phylacteries, and the liches can read. There are still artefacts that have writings in how to use necromacy. Good luck reading them. Spellcasters: Non innate must have precocious apprentice feat (CAr) Races: Preferably humans or Neanderthals (Frostburn). Portals: There are gates to other planes popping up everywhere recently, and outsider/fey settlers are on expedition to see what has happened. ___________ Any comments? |
