Are there any geographic rules? How small could it be for a still realistic world? I thought about 1800 miles (3000 km), is this realistic? What scaling do you have in your maps? |

That would be 12.000 km length of the equator, and about 4000 km from the core to the surface, and a surface of 201.062.000 kmē For comparison, the earth has a an equator of 42.000 km and a radius of 14.000 km, and a surface of 2.463.000.000 kmē. That would be really small, about 10% the surface of the earth. 3000 km distance from arctic to tropic climate would be a different thing. I don't really know how global coordinates work, but I would think this would make a distance of about 6000 km from pole to equator and therefore 24.000 km around and 8.000 km radius. That's a surface of 804.000.000 kmē and about 40% of the earth. Still small, but I think one could really work with this. |
| Holy_Beholder05-21-07, 09:30 PM | 40% is good, but remember, campaigns way up in the air, underground, or underwater are your friends. This should allow you to layer the world and pretty much increase its surface area. |
