I am one of the most unorgainized people in the multiverse and would literally lose my head if it wasn't attached... :D 2) For input. There are some things I just can't think of. Making a steampunkish, high tech nation I can do. Making a spiritual, oriental style nation I can do. Heck, I can even make a xenophobic nation that would make North Korea (no offense to any Koreans out there) look friendly. What I suck at, is making a more primitive nation. ---------------------------------- Here's the overview of the world: Main sentient/civilized humanoids: Humans, Dwarves, Xephs, Elves, Haflings, Dueger, Drow(gnomes died out, but thats for the history part) Main sentient monstrous races: Giants, Undead, Aberrations, Dragons, Kobold, Goblin, Orcs. Nations and a quick overview of each: Drachviar: A small, technologicaly advanced nation (think Eberron inspired) within the north. Constantly at war with the Giants. Vilardsdolm: Ruled by frost giants and covers much of the northern continent. They are in constant war with Drachviar, and would win if it were not for Drachviar's advantage of technology. Prima: A xenophobic nation of humans where other races are treated as slaves. They had several encounters with other races, leading up to their xenophobia. Storm Isles: Dozens of small islands inhabited by kobold, hafling, and goblin tribes. Each one lives in relative peace to eachother. Even then, each tribe maintains a sizable fleet. Everdawn: Located in the east, Everdawn is a country full of mystics, spiritualists, and Elves. Not many humans have set foot within the massive forests, but those who have never returned. Underneath the country lies the cties of the drow, elves who have been corrupted by a demon lord. Sitnalta: Sitnalta, like it's sister country Airumel, was once a prospering kingdom. However, when Airumel fell to undeath Sitnalta fell in glory. Much of the country has now been conquered by the orc hordes, while those humans that still remain huddle around the ruins of the once mighty fortresses. Airumel: Airumel was once a prospering, powerful kingdom. However, in a single night most of the inhabitants were turned into undead (not zombies and skeles, more intelligent undead). Those that remained living are now used as livestock to feed the undead. Mirkora: Mirkora is the underground kingdom of the dwarves. Once spanning the entire plane, Mirkora is now reduced to a tenth of it's former self, having lost much of it's power from the constant wars against the Dueger and Aberration hordes. |

Within this scenery lies two warring kingdoms: The technocratic state of Drachviar, and the monarchial frost giant kingdom of Vilardsdom. History of the two kingdoms: No one knows which kingdom was formed first. The frost giants claim that the technocrats were originally under their control and broke away over time, while the Drachviarians claim that they formed first and the frost giant kingdom formed after them. What no one can disput, however, is that the two kingdoms have a history of violence that dates back long before anyone can remember. Neither kingdom has ever gained more then a few miles into the territory of the other, and even then they are pushed back again within a few months of conflict. Drachviar: Knowledge is power. That is the one driving aspect of Drachviar. Every Drachviaran goes through a decade of formal education, followed by several more years of vocational learning. The primary inhabitants of Drachviar are Xeph, Humans, Snow Elves, and Glacier Dwarves. Lesser races are almost unheard of, with outsiders looked upon with suspicion. Scholars, however, are always welcome and the libaries at Drachmar are the largest in the world, containing nearly every known book written. Drachviar is known for two things: their technology and their mercenaries. Drachviar alchemists had long ago produced working gunpowder, leading up to the invention of cannons and guns. While they have yet to perfect the art of rifling a weapon. Drachviaran mecenaries, armed with a mixture of technology and magic, sell their services to other countires and return to the country with comissions into the military. Because of their influence in politics, very few countries are willing to go to war with Drachviar. Most know that, should they decide to plot against the great technocratic nation, they will have to face warships outfitted with enough firepower to sink a navy and the stalwart defenders of their nation. |
