| Moniker04-05-07, 05:15 PM | http://deismaar.pbwiki.com/ The navigation is on the right hand side. I haven't figured out the javascript yet to pop it on the left hand side. pbwiki.com is free, so for those of you out there who want to put their campaign online without having to pay, this is the way to go. I've borrowed some names and material over time, but have tried my best to make it my own. It is low magic, high politics and story-driven. I tried to modify the normal, given RP thematics to make a more believable world where superstition and folklore dominate all given societies. I am currently attempting to convert 12 years of campaign notes into the Campaigns section; that will come in time. I've provided the most recent games though in summation. Please let me know what you think! Cheers~ |

| Elf_Jedi04-06-07, 11:30 AM | Nice Maps.:D |
| Ishmayl04-06-07, 12:54 PM | Very nice looking maps. I also (mostly) like the format of your web site as well. You did a good job in making it look like a real site, and not like a wiki. The only issue I saw was something that is probably mostly unfixable, and that is how when you go to a particular page (take, "Races," for example), you get the really long list of links to the left, and then the test starts below that. It would be nice if there was some way to start the text up at the top, but that's really just me being nitpicky. That's a lot of player races; it seems as though the majority of them are human-esque. What made you decide to leave out the more fantasy-esque races (other than the Lost Races, of course). Also, is the campaign in any way based off the Wheel of Time? I just ask because I notice you used a lot of WoT art. |

Also, is the campaign in any way based off the Wheel of Time? I just ask because I notice you used a lot of WoT art. We've been playing a humanocentric campaign for ages. It sort of began way back after I had read LOTR and then got my hands on A Game of Thrones. Being a staunch historical dork as I was, I dumped my Planescape game we'd been running for three years and started over. We'd sot of had enough of the fantastic, and my players urged me to write a campaign that was a bit easier to suspend disbelief. I had considered a dark age Europe campaign, but those were a dime a dozen at the time. In that, I decided to just write my own setting, do my own maps, use parts of games I've played into the past, make them my own and go from there. Viola, Deismaar was born. No Wheel of Time influence, other than 'lifting' the pictures from the PDF book to denote the races. The artwork in the WoT D20 book is phenominal :P The formatting issue - yeah, it's tricky. I only know a bit of javascript, and am trying to fix the issues with display (like the table of contents issue). I started hotlinking the races on individual pages today. I am figuring out collapsible ToC's today, so I can make it not so cumbersome. Thanks for the feedback! |

I can only make simple box tables but I noticed the table for your ranger revision is quite nice. Can you point me int he right direction for making better tables? On another note, nice work on your world. Keep it up. |

On another note, nice work on your world. Keep it up. I used a general template I created in Word. If you copy/paste the information onto a Word document, it should autoformat and you can type into the fields. Another option is to simply cut/paste the tables from the SRD20 website and pop them into Word. Once again, they'll autoformat. ;) |
| GoriceXII04-07-07, 03:32 AM | One thing that is immediately noticeable is how you have taken some names for places, organizations, etc from both fantasy and history and yet have made it fit nicely into your milieu. There are some (the Divine Source for instance) that I've been working on fitting in to my campaign myself. One thing I quite like about it is that unlike a lot of homebrew places or even published ones it seems very really and yet fantastic at the same time. It is simple to read and yet has its complexities and complications. I encourage you to keep working on this, I will look into it with interest. |
| Ishmayl04-07-07, 12:06 PM | I agree with GoriceXII. There are very few homebrew builders and world creators that are striving for (and accomplishing) the realistic feel you've found. Even on my site, with dozens of homebrews to choose from, there are very few that have this same kind of touch of realism that you see in Robert Jordan, George Martin, and other authors who use a human-centric world. I would love for you to come over to the CBG and chat with some of the people there about your campaign; you could find both a lot of advice, as well as a lot of ideas from the people over there. Either way, I do look forward to seeing more of this setting. The CBG (http://www.thecbg.org) |
| rowsdower4404-07-07, 03:56 PM | What did you use to make the maps? They look excellent! :ayyyy!: |
| Moniker04-07-07, 10:57 PM | What did you use to make the maps? They look excellent! :ayyyy!: I use Campaign Cartographer 3. It has a very, very steep learning curve but is unmatched by any other mapping software out there. Thank you all again for the feedback. I'll be certain to create a login and check out the CBG. I'd love to share ideas and talk about other peoples' worlds they've presented. Cheers~ |
| Khementari04-12-07, 12:25 AM | I see you've updated some things on your wiki and it's looking good. In the races section I would like to see connections to countries via a map link. Having that visual would make it a lot easier to understand how the races and countries interact. |
