alright i will soon be starting a new DnD game i have DM many times before but i have way to many ideas so i came up with the following solution.
people will have a week to post ideas then we shall vote and the winning couple of ideas (1D6+2) will be used. Sound good

ok well lets see i have a few.

1. islands (in the air or watter)
2. low magic
3. high magic
4. end of the world is nearing and the pc must race around and try to save them selves from it.
5. post end of the world set among great ruins

I like the floating islands in the air. Add wings to the races, air ships, currents, and maybe a dark poison cloud beneath the islands, under which there are huge amounts of monsters, but no one knows about it.

hmm an idea, maybe the gods have shunned the world and no longer care for the people there...

The gods are dead.

The Vasharn (see the Book of Vile Darkness) have finally realized their goal of deicide. Using a device of unimaginable power, they have removed every being with a divine rank from the multiverse. In both Heaven and Hell civil wars erupt as the lieutenants of the departed powers struggle to see who will be the gods' successors, while similar wars ensue on the other planes as reality's balance of power is torn to shreds.

On the Material Plane, things aren't much better. No prayers are answered, and nearly all the world's clerics and paladins have lost their powers. Those that can still cast sacred spells face jealousy and questions from their brothers and sisters of the faith. Angry mobs tear apart cathedrals, theocracies descend into anarchy, and natural and supernatural disasters plague the land now that the gods are no longer around to manage their portfolios.

The people are terrified, and searching for heroes with answers to their questions. What will happen next? Without the gods, will the Outer Planes cease to be? What will happen to the afterlife? Can the world survive without divine supervision and management? Will the sentient races of the world be forced to adapt to a universe with no higher powers, or will new gods emerge from the chaos? Can we create new gods?

Can we become new gods?
