I have had some experience in doing almost the exact same thing in other websites. I have always had fun being both player and DM when it gets off the ground. So I"ve decided to make my own Campaign Creation game here, on the Wizards Boards. At first only the ten roles below will be open for players. Later less broad portfolios will be open. This is a time of New Beginnings. You, the Progenitors, are beings that mortals might worship, revere, or at least venerate. There can be up to 10 starting players. These "gods" are = Light Darkness Order Chaos Life Death Beauty Destiny Nature Spirit Light must begin as Neutral Good. They can become lawful or chaotic later. Darkness must be any lawful or evil alignment. Order must begin as lawful good or lawful neutral, and can become any lawful later on. But becoming evil will cause me to make the plot of the thread to make a turn. Chaos must be any chaotic alignment. Life can actually be any alignment but evil. Death must start out as lawful evil, but can actually become any alignment later. Beauty can be any good or neutral alignment. Destiny must be neutral. Nature must begin neutral, and then may gradually become either any neutral alignment or lawful good or chaotic good. Spirit must be of good alignment. All characters will begin with DvR 15. There are ways to gain DvR. 1. DvR may be gained through holding worshipers, or laymen depending on the number of DvR had. For instance, if you have 1 DvR, you could have 1,000 followers for 1 turn, and then rise in DvR by 1 point. Or hold 20,000,000 followers, for 20 turns, to get to DvR 21. 2. Spend DvR points. DvR points are given depending on which status tier you are. For instance, a quasi deity would get 1 DvR point. Demi gods 2, and so on and son up to 5 points. 2. GM's discretion. This includes good performance, adding to the flavor of the world, etcetera. Artifact creation may include this. Your Character Sheet is as follows = 1. Name : 2. Porftolio: 3. Divine Rank: 4. Domains: 5: Alignment: 6: Symbol: |

Why must darkness and death be necessarily evil? Why would light, spirit, beauty and life be good or non-evil? There are plenty of examples, within the player's handbook and western culture itself of death that is not evil and spirit that is not good. I say you leave it up to those that decide to take that domain, within reason or with explanation. I personally like how LoC: Shardworld decided to start everyone out neutral. That way the gods had their own opportunities to descend into wickedness or ascend to goodness or display qualities of law/chaos. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see another creation game. I just think you should leave it up to the players to decide what this world will be like. |
