So here is the Drow in my homebrew setting, what do you think?

Nation’s name: Drow

Capital City: Valrun

Description:
The nation known as Drow is mostly located underground cities in the vast underground tunnel network that exists under Gaia. Although the Drow government claims the tunnel network was created through natural occurrences, however geologists have noted that these caverns were in fact not natural, which the government constantly rebukes. Little did they know the ancients were the ones responsible for the creations of the caverns for protection from bombardment from enemy planes (the cosmology of the universe is not different realms but are different planets, and the ancients held space traveling technologies along with advance magical abilities).

The Drow are also known as the nation of half-elves, for aside the dark skin complexion and very pale eyes and light hair their appearance matches half-elves on the surface. It is believed they’re the product of interbreeding of Elves and Humans who have remained underground long after the world began recovering from the apocalypse, evolution and/or through unknown magical effect (the nobles use MM Drow stats and common folk use Lesser Drow, although it’s possible to produce either groups to birth Normal and Lesser versions).

The Drow government uses propaganda stating everyone is born to serve the motherland and unity with the nation is paramount. This is accomplished through various means, such as parades, school curriculum installing this ideology into the young, secret police force etc. Although the secret police did not exist officially that keeps an eye out for people who they believe are enemy of the state.

Like the Drow of other settings they’re Matriarchal, but unlike in other settings they’re not plague by assignations or backstabbing, instead they follow a strict political code and tradition. Unlike other races female Drows tend to be larger and taller, stronger and outnumber their male counterparts. Another difference is that these drows are encouraged to seek out strong companions, and even encourage to bring in outside humans or elves for genetic diversity and to make the nation stronger.

I'd just limit the backstabbing, not erase it - it's part of the charm of the race, and it can work well if kept within some limits. That's why I don't like what you've done that much... Different tastes, I guess.

Anyway, assassinations may be a tad drastic - though what is a secret police if not a state-owned thief/assassin guild - but intrigue and betrayal work fine in a definite power structure, and I'd urge you to have a lot of those so you keep the drow "feel". Think of the Byzantine court or the Medici - drow backstabbing might not work with blade or poison, but rather by pulling the string of the system and discrediting/framing your rivals. The higher you go in the system, the better at it they are.

So your Drow are lawful then? And what kind of religion do they have? I don't imagine it could be similar under the circumstances that you're describing, except in the sense that they might be heavily focused on survival.

In fact I have always thought that it would be interesting to have contrasts between religion and society. Perhaps they do still make bargains with demons but that they are deceived by them, believing that the demons will uphold their laws when in fact the demons want ruthless servants who will spread chaos and horror.
