| PhredViell08-18-07, 07:24 PM | I apologise in advance if I'm posting this in the wrong place. I'm looking to find some guidance for the effects of climate on adventurers. For instance, what would happen to a full-plate-wearing warrior in the sweltering heat of the tropics, or a wizard trying to cast when it's -40 outside.* I've searched these boards, plus all the books I have available to me, and apart from a small bit in the 3.5 DMG I can't find anything. Could someone point me in the direction of a useful book, supplement, wiki or site? You'll be rewarded with generous material gifts.** Thanks! - Steve/Phred. * I won't say which I'm planning to do, as my players also use teh intartubes; they're sneaky that way. ** Not really. |
| TheLastEvilDrow08-19-07, 03:59 AM | Re: Wizards in the snow... I think at temperatures that low, characters take damage from the cold, so much so that he would need to make Concentration checks to be able to cast any spells. Sandstorm mentions extreme heat. So I would think that wearing full metal armor would impose a penalty (perhaps the armor's check penalty) to fort saves to avoid taking nonlethal damage and fatigue from the heat. Hope that helps. |
