| Black Jack Davey07-25-05, 04:39 PM | Wow...I haven't gone through the entire thing, and I doubt I'll ever have time to, but I commend you on this. How long did that take to write up? |
| raidzuo07-26-05, 02:16 AM | About 10 years (on and off). Most of the work was done in 2nd edition. |
| Drath'ri07-26-05, 11:12 PM | how did you create this in a PDF? |
| raidzuo07-27-05, 03:11 AM | Free program. I originally got it to view MSword files. http://download.openoffice.org/1.1.4/index.html Just make the document and export as a PDF. Pretty simple. The graphics were made in photoshop. When it's finished I'll make it in Quark Express. I don't want to commit too much to the layout until the text is completed; so this is temporary. |
| Black Jack Davey07-27-05, 03:42 AM | It's very nice for being temporary. I like the look of it. There are plenty of free programs out there to make PDFs, if you look hard enough. They just aren't usually of fine quality. |
| raidzuo07-29-05, 01:44 PM | Thanks! |
| Prince Indirian07-30-05, 03:33 AM | Darn, this looks awesome. You have really put some time into it. I like it. Is it okay for me to promote it a bit. Of course you get all the credit. |
| weasel fierce07-30-05, 03:41 AM | I generally dont like Final Fantasy, but i must say, this is very well done |
| raidzuo07-30-05, 01:07 PM | Darn, this looks awesome. You have really put some time into it. I like it. Is it okay for me to promote it a bit. Of course you get all the credit. I'm flattered, but I don't think my geocities account can handle the bandwidth. :( |
| Great Cthulhu07-31-05, 10:18 PM | THIS...IS...JUST...AWESOME! (I've put it under my favorites so I can always access it.) :D |
| raidzuo08-01-05, 04:29 PM | Haha thanks! I like your "things I learned from final fantasy" subsection. |
| Cunning Gnome08-10-05, 12:48 PM | This is cool, really well done. One question some of the feat abilities etc say make a make a +4 fortitued save vs death for example, does this mean they get +4 on their save or the dc is increased by plus 4? sorry if this is a stupid question and ive missed something ;) . O yeah do u plan on doing a races section for ronso guado and the like and a few monsters maybe? |
| Paracelcus08-12-05, 03:12 PM | You should really add monsters. I wanna use a tonberry in a game, but I am absolutely horrible at calculatings CRs. Should at least try for the classic monsters: bomb, cactuar, chocobo, tonberry, etc. |
| heartripper08-12-05, 05:46 PM | well I know what a bomb, cactuar and chocabo are but whats a tonberry? oh and I have ideas for classes, what about a summoner, like yuna, a good prc would be like those chocabo riders or an elemental mage. |
| Voila!08-13-05, 03:57 AM | A tonberry is a type of very rare creature that deals damage to others based on karma. Its karma attack deals damage of no particular type to a character based off of how many beings that character has actually killed in the past. It also has the ability to stab someone for a lot. Interesting that... (http://www.nuklearpower.com/daily.php?date=010302) I've only played FFX all the way through, so I've only ever seen it there. It lives in the Cavern of the Stolen Fayth, and a paragon version, the Master Tonberry, lives in the Omega Dungeon. FFXII has giant versions wandering around the Via Infinito. I've never gotten past one. Given the low quality of that game, I have little desire to bother doing so. |
| SnowbearK08-13-05, 05:42 AM | I'm flattered, but I don't think my geocities account can handle the bandwidth. :( As nice as this is, I'll gladly host a ddl on my own site -- since I have 10gb of bandwidth and haven't had any time at all to actually do anything with it...I used all of 17mb data transfer last month. :weep: Let me know if you're interested. |
| Paracelcus08-14-05, 12:56 PM | Tonberry's have been in every game since FF5 (some people mistakenly say FF6, but that's only because FF5 wasn't released in America until FF Anthologies was released. Basically, they walk up to you very slowly, giving you several rounds of free attacks before they get in melee range. Then, they poke someone with their tiny little butcher's knife, and generally that person dies. I don't recall if they moved back and restarted the walking cycle originally, but from a D&D perspective that's not really important. In FF5, there was one that was impossible to hit with melee, but if you hit him with spells, he'd split into like 6, and then run away, netting a huge amount of AP (relative to battle length, like 5 or something). Here's a picture of one: http://c-uncut.com/media/ff9-tonberry.jpg Basically, they'd have a slow speed, do a lot of damage, and have a lot of health. In FF8, because of the scaling stats with level, tonberries became very difficult (well, long) to kill. This made getting the tonberry king summon insane (had to kill 18-22 tonberries, i was told in one sitting). Took me forever. Actually, magic pots were cool too, although I don't know how they'd exactly make good enemies. |
| Edymnion08-14-05, 04:47 PM | Gah! Must see book... gotta wait 13 more minutes for bandwidth to reset... |
| Cunning Gnome08-15-05, 12:27 PM | I dont suppose someone could answer my above question thanks :D . |
| Verelor08-16-05, 07:29 PM | This is freaking amazing. I am just taken aback by the superb quality and length of it all. Here's to hoping the next release has a more decorative font. I would so love for a character sheet to be made of it! |
| Banpai08-16-05, 07:57 PM | I am seriously impressed by your great work - and its even rather compatible. |
| jaw4ever08-17-05, 10:01 AM | Wow! it's phemoninal! I especially love your rules on Materia. I've always thought the the Final Fantasy series was perfected at #7. I can't wait to add the Materia rules to my campaign. You are to be commended. |
| GodSlayer08-19-05, 02:58 AM | Looks pretty good so far. Though you are missing Fort and Reflex saves for Summoner at Level 1 and 2 though I assume they are Zero since at level 3 they get +1 Fort +1 Ref. Same with Lancer only its Reflex and Will. Misprint? The Materia system looks good for what its intended to do but I personally see FFVII as more of a D20 Modern/Future setting. I may have missed it through my scan reading but I don't recall seeing anywheres where it told you how many slots each Weapon/Armor has for Materia. Overall as a stand alone setting it looks nice though. Needs monsters though. Really Tough Monsters. |
| Red_Ninja08-19-05, 03:44 PM | thats money! |
| Verelor08-19-05, 05:31 PM | For serious Final Fantasy 8 fans like me, you'll notice that this key piece of Final Fantasy history came up a little short here. I would LOVE to see rules for juntioning GF's and drawing magic rather than an MP system in a future release. A highly customizeable SeeD class would also be appreciated. For a bestiary, my expectations are minimal for someone who has already done a phenominal job. Perhaps the stats for basic creatures like Chocobos, Moogles, Tonberries, Cactaurs, Marlboros, Bombs, and all the Ivalice races. |
| Verelor08-20-05, 07:02 PM | BUMP. No way I'm letting this thread die. |
| Tevin Illithane08-21-05, 08:24 PM | This was definitely an interesting read, as I was looking for information on converting Final Fantasy VII into a D&D game. Been looking over it for the past three or so weeks. Some of it helps, some of it doesn't, but hey, I'm a picky bugger. =) Since for my game I will be converting many standard FFVII monsters over into D&D, I'll post up my info here when I finish them to see if anyone else would like to use them. A warning, though: my monsters will be set up more for a level 7-20 campaign rather than 7-99, so if you're wanting the monsters to represent the fast progression of a FF game, you'll need to up the XP gains. I'll have to convert the mosters back into standard D&D, though, since I'm using a customized D&D system. And Verelor, in my game someone is a chocobo rider(I've nicknamed the class "Chocobo Knight"). If you would like, when I get all of my info written up/balance issues checked/tested/etc., I can send you the chocobo info. Hopefully it'll meet up to standards. |
| Verelor08-23-05, 05:20 PM | The author should tell us more info about the next release, I'm anxious. |
| raidzuo08-24-05, 09:45 AM | I dont suppose someone could answer my above question thanks :D . You were right in your assumption -- but I removed the modifiers for clarification; so I guess it doesn't matter now :D . |
| raidzuo08-24-05, 09:47 AM | The Materia system looks good for what its intended to do but I personally see FFVII as more of a D20 Modern/Future setting. I may have missed it through my scan reading but I don't recall seeing anywheres where it told you how many slots each Weapon/Armor has for Materia. Needs monsters though. Really Tough Monsters. It's in there now (materia slots) -- and I agree with the monsters. Something like that is going to take awhile. |

Draw might be hard to implement, since I'd have to make 100 or so monsters just to draw from. Then again, I suppose I could do the draw skill as a feat, and base the magic you can draw derived upon the target's alignment and HD. hmmmm... anyway, I agree with you on adding monsters -- but it will be a large undertaking. |

I look forward to seeing your monsters. So far for monsters (and everything else), I've been doing a straight conversion based upon a system I devised. The way we view a monster's relative strength will therefore be a lot different. In the end (according to my conversion system) a final fantasy setting is almost entirely epic (Even though I've been DM'ing my current campaign for almost 10 years using this system and my highest level PC is only level 45 :P). I guess that's the longest FF ever! |
| raidzuo08-24-05, 10:11 AM | As nice as this is, I'll gladly host a ddl on my own site -- since I have 10gb of bandwidth and haven't had any time at all to actually do anything with it...I used all of 17mb data transfer last month. :weep: Let me know if you're interested. | Verelor08-24-05, 05:05 PM | Great update! next update: Give us the 5 main Ivalice races! :) |
| Zeteg08-24-05, 08:48 PM | Hey, if you geocities account can't take the bandwidth, send me an email <thezeteg@gmail.com>. I have a server that has 100gb/month for bandwidth. I'd be happy to host it for you... since you did such a good job! Ah, I should do more reading, people have already offered =) <www.dashgaming.com/zeteg/FF3.5e.zip (http://www.dashgaming.com/zeteg/FF3.5e.zip)>, it's uploaded. I guess I already posted, so editing this many times with changes of mind isn't too horrible. It can't hurt to have two download servers, I suppose. You can have FTP access to a subdirectory if you'd like. Just tell me =) |
| Lord Morridin08-24-05, 09:43 PM | Actually, in Dragon 323 (September 2004), they have the Chocobo stated out in the 'Silicon Sorcery' section. |
| Wraithburn08-24-05, 10:31 PM | Holy........Wow. That is all. I mean this is fantatic work...I am seriously impressed. Very well put together, looks professional. Job well done. Wraithburn. |

| cutsleeve09-01-05, 10:16 AM | A draw system could be difficult but there might be a solution to your problem. See the draw system in FF8 only did 2 things. First it allowed a person to increase their flexibility by adding new spells to their list. Second it increased the number of times a spell that the player knew could be cast. To metagame these in the system you have you could say that drawing allows a spell caster to gain new spells they did not previously know or if they chose draw Magic Points to replenish their supply. This seems more like an alternate means of mana replenishment rather than feat material. Id say include it as an optional rule if Dm's want to use it. Make regeneration of MP a slow process which can be supplemented by potions but mostly its supported by drawing magic from enemies. All creatures who cannot cast spells still have MP's just at a level equal to thier HP. They might also have a spell or two, if they do what and how many would be random. Make only those mosters who are obviously magical have spells and the added MP to use them. This might cut down on the amount of monster work you have to do. By not giving every rabbit, wolf, horse spells you save at least some effort. |
| Verelor09-02-05, 07:34 PM | Sounds good. Let's see what the creator of this wonderful document has to say about it. |

By not giving every rabbit, wolf, horse spells you save at least some effort. Here is something I started to work on. I like your idea much better -- but I still want player's to be able to junction GF's and spells to stats. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------------------- GUARDIAN FORCE FEATS Feats from FFVIII. Allows to to cast spells and summon Aeons in a manner similair to using materia. DRAW Type: Metamagic Requirements: Intelligence, Wisdom or Charisma 18+. Draw must be taught. You may siphon magic from a target that has a spell or spell-like ability (Draw will not funtion on creatures who have no spell casting ability). This spell is then stored into a reserve; which you may cast at a later time. These spells stay in your reserve indefinitley; however you may only have up to 10 of each spell type in reserve (EXAMPLE: you may have a maximum of 10 Fire III spell's in your reserve but not a number greater than 10). You may draw only 1 spell/day from a single creature. Drawing magic has no detrimental effect on the target. The spell gained is determined by the target's HD (or level) and alignment. EXAMPLE: A level 45 chaotic good monster potentially has a Fire III spell available for Draw. Refer to the table below for more details. http://www.geocities.com/raidzuo/Draw.jpg *Special rule regarding targets with the Draw feat: If drawing from a target who also has the "Draw" feat, you may browse the target's reserve list and choose what spell you wish to draw. The target receives no saving throw against a draw. *Special rule regarding summoning magic: You may only draw summoning magic from Aeon's, or someone else with the draw feat who has a summon spell in their reserve. SUMMON GF (GUARDIAN FORCE) Type: General Requirements: Draw You may partially summon an Aeon in the same manner as a Devotional type Summoner (see Summoner chapter 6). However when you summon an Aeon in this way, you only gain the benifit of it's Hitpoint's, Armor class, and Overdrive. The Aoen is dismissed when the caster is out of danger, or it's HP is depleted to 0 (Aeon health is depleted in place of your own). You must wait 24 hours before summoning the Aeon again. JUNCTION Type: General Requirements: Summon GF You may junction Drawn elemental spells that are in your reserve to your ability scores. For every reserved elemental spell you junction, you gain a +1 to that ability score. Junctioning 10 reserve spells (same type) of abnormal status grants immunity to that status. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------------------- The table above makes my life easier. It allows the player to draw spells from just about any monster (as long as they have spells or spell like abilties). Tell me what you think. |
| Verelor09-04-05, 11:53 AM | Hm..looks pretty good, if not quite faithful to the way it was done in the official game. Let's see junctioning next :D . Question: Is drawing an aeon from your opponent covered here? (To be not overtly harsh, i'd say that anyone who has an aeon drawn from them is still able to summon that aeon but cannot summon one that day) I'd lower the Wis/Int/Cha requirements to 16. I don't think Zell Dincht has a very high number in any of those ^_^. Finally, why the astronomical HD? I would cut the values in half or less. |

| Big_Fau09-06-05, 10:15 PM | OMG raizuo I love you! Three of my players live and breath final fantasy, its the reason they like RPGs THANK YOU! |
| Tevin Illithane09-06-05, 10:29 PM | Actually, in Dragon 323 (September 2004), they have the Chocobo stated out in the 'Silicon Sorcery' section. The Riding Bird one? Yeah, I've been trying to find a copy of that article for a few weeks now, with no luck. 'Cause if it works and is well set-up...=D |
| Endarire09-07-05, 01:52 AM | I think you mean "Reflection," not "Relfection" in X-Item's prerequisites. -EE |
| Verelor09-07-05, 05:02 PM | Good eye, but spelling errors are secondary at the moment, as I still consider the rulebook in beta stage. |
| Verelor09-10-05, 01:31 PM | So how's it going, let's hear some updates. |
| raidzuo09-10-05, 01:53 PM | OMG raizuo I love you! Three of my players live and breath final fantasy, its the reason they like RPGs THANK YOU! Haha, so do we! You're so welcome. |
| raidzuo09-10-05, 01:54 PM | I think you mean "Reflection," not "Relfection" in X-Item's prerequisites. -EE I haven't gone through the document manually to check for errors; I used a spell check program. I'll go back and fix it though. Thanks. |
| raidzuo09-10-05, 01:58 PM | So how's it going, let's hear some updates. I moved two weeks ago so things aren't going as fast as I'd like them too. I have about 20 monsters finished though, and will probably have about 50 or so completed by the end of the month. I might post them here for some feedback. I want to be as accurate as possible. |
| Verelor09-12-05, 08:27 PM | 50 will definitely do, that's great. So ff8 fans won't feel like they've gotten the raw end of the deal ocne again, don't forget to add a galbadian soldier and commander entry and a Sorceress template. I think it would be best if the chocobo was simply listed as an animal (int 2) that can be trained and mechanically treated exactly as such, though a spell that allows you to instantly attract and/or basic-train a chocobo will be welcome. |
| D&D_Madness 500009-17-05, 02:11 PM | I hope this will become a Campaign :D I love Final Fantasy :D Alot :D The Materia system looks good for what its intended to do but I personally see FFVII as more of a D20 Modern/Future setting. I may have missed it through my scan reading but I don't recall seeing anywheres where it told you how many slots each Weapon/Armor has for Materia. Needs monsters though. Really Tough Monsters. Monsters, eh? You could get all the bosses from the games and usee them as really tough monsters. I mean really, Ruby Weapon from FFVII has 1,000,000 hp. And BTW, you could check on the internet how much the weapons hold for materia.;) |

| Verelor09-19-05, 08:46 PM | Actually, I think Weapon should be an epic template with some prerequisites such as Nuetral or Nuetral evil alignment, Huge of larger size, and a ECL of at least 40. Or maybe build from the ELH Paragon template, also having the template grant a doubling of your HP and some other abilities. |
| raidzuo09-28-05, 04:52 PM | Just dropping in to tell everyone that it will be awhile before I make another update. I just moved and settling in is taking up so much of my time. Who would have thought something so simple would keep me so busy! I hope everyone understands. I'll get back on it as soon as I get the chance. |
| Verelor09-28-05, 05:38 PM | Here's a couple things that might help you out in your big mosnter-creaqtion project for the FFd20: Tonberry (http://www.blacksway.net/cc/show.php?cc_id=359) Boss Monster Template (http://www.blacksway.net/cc/showt.php?cct_id=105) |
| Ruecian09-30-05, 11:27 AM | It looks really nice, though! I cant read it :weep: I have an error and all I can see area bunch of dots were words are supposed to be :weep: can some one help me with this, since I am building a Final Fantasy Tactics world, I already have the behemots, chocobos, and some other creatures besides the Aeons summon witch I almost have them all but I need help with a couple of things still, how to manage a proper MP sistem for magics and if I shoul make the squire and chemist class a 10 lvl or 20 lvl class? I will post the work and all and Im also missing the hole ocntinent of Romanda I just dont know were to start :embarrass |
| Verelor10-01-05, 08:54 PM | Do you ahve the latest version of Adobe Reader (7.0)? Adobe Reader comes with a help file, too, there definitely has to be something concerning this in there. |
| Ruecian10-02-05, 06:11 PM | :embarrass I was missing an upgrade from my Acrobat :embarrass Thx :) Still I think I could use your summoning sistem. But I dont like the classes that much. |
| Verelor10-02-05, 06:29 PM | I am quite certain that in the next update along with a full array of monsters he's going to add all the ivalice races. Bet you're excited about that. |
| Ruecian10-02-05, 07:11 PM | Well I got some of my own I like to try before, THough I think the summons I made are as strong as the story not like in the video game. I still need some help designing some classes, like the Oracle, time mage, Geomancer, Calculator and Mime. I'll add some feats but I got most of the background done like: History, Kingdoms, religions, Some monsters, Character races, magic and Magitek. |
| Verelor10-02-05, 08:47 PM | Well for time mage there's chronomancer, and for geomancer that class exists already. I'm not sure which books they are in, but Complete Arcana seems your best bet. For mime, the Chameleon calss is probably the best you're going to get. |
| Ruecian10-02-05, 09:06 PM | Thx Ill go get the books from one of the lads to take a look at it. I'm trying to make the classes just like in the game and give them something like historical realisim also to the class; realism according to the Campaign setting of course. |
| Cynlas10-03-05, 09:35 PM | I like the book, though there seems to be a few things that need to be explained a little better, but I won't address those now. The "big" eratta that I noticed is the lack of joining the Lancer abilities with a specific level. The abilities explanitory header mentions that each ability should have a level listed, but other than the first one (which only duplicates the 'expalination' found in the previous header), there is no level indicator for any of them. As such, and given that it is not listed in the Lancer class table, they are not really affixed to the class as currently drafted (and thereby useless). The lack of explanitory detail also made the summoner class a bit confusing. For instance, I noticed (and think I understand) your distiguishing of the two "flavors" of Summoner, but then the description leads directly into actually summoning stuff without a distinguishable "break", which leaves the feeling that the explanation of the summoning process is to be used by the new summoners (ff-X style summoner), as opposed to the system used by the "traditional" summoners. Another minor thing I noticed is the use of the old term "Turn" as opposed to "round" is still found occasionally in the text to describe ability limits and durations. Given that you started this project under 2E, this makes sense; however, for those who are too new to DnD to know what the distinction is between a "turn" and a "round" is (as 3E does not have a "turn", or when it does, it is used interchangeably with "round"), some of the mechanics you created are going to be flubbed. For me, as I played since 1E and Basic, I can easily make the change on my end, but may be a hitch for the younger audience. ;) Finally, not a mistake but an observation, I am taking it that you are intending your FF rules to essentially be Epic level, given the requirements for the FF flavored class feats. Is this your intention? At any rate, the pdf version looks very nice, and I think that after a few runs with a human editor (to fix those pesky minor things like "too" vs. "to") and the addition of a small bestiary of FF-specific monsters, it would be a better published item than much of the stuff I have seen (and even paid money for). Anyway, just my two cents. Good job. |
| Verelor10-09-05, 02:57 PM | Here's a couple of new things to help your lazy ass out, Raidzuo. Come on, it gets a bit sad when me, a mere downloader of the product, is a lot more passionate and active about the project then the creator. | The Unspeakable Thing10-10-05, 08:36 AM | I do not take credit for those items, Like I said in the original posts that I put them in they where provided by Final Fantasy Hidden Dreams, the D20 FF Game, (And some of the Moogles came from elsewhere). Hidden Dreams is based mostly on FF3 (Class's) and the monsters come from FF9. I believe that the Malboro was more Plant like in some of the earlier FF's, such as Tactics (Where one of its levels was the Ochu (Definatley a Plant), Where as in FF9 it was kinda plant like, I would aggre that most Malboro are Abberattions (Especially in Spira). |
| Verelor10-10-05, 02:18 PM | Next I'll be devising a SeeD rank payment system. I will gladly continue work on this project if the creator loses interest. |
| Verelor10-14-05, 09:46 PM | I am REALLY starting to worry about Raidzuo. What in the world could keep him idle from the project for this long unless he's terribly ill. How could moving to a new home possibly occupy hm like this, if he's tellign the truth? |

| Verelor11-02-05, 08:27 PM | Ok, now some good, honest criticism: Ozma and the majority of the Weapons were nuetral evil for sure. You still don't have any final fantasy races but decided to do monsters, which is great but you left out something far more elementary. Well, humans are humans, you've got a great moogle wrtie-up with me already, so jsut use that or modify it a bit :). The humanoid creatures with the rabbit ears that prefer archery are practically elves. Add a couple more, and you're done and have hardly had to do any work. For those of us that don't want to use the vague 99-level progression (which I think is most of your fans), would it be just fine to simply divide all challenge ratings and character level requirements and that such stuff by a factor of 4 and multiply the character's level by 4 for things that rely on his level for some limit breaks? Sounds just fine on concept... :) I thought about five division and multiplication for a little while, but then decided that that would exclude epic-level from the 99-level grind, something that certainly shouldn't be removed. So that rounds out to mighty creatures such as Ozma being a regular CR 25 (not bad at all). Maybe you've just got a fetish for colossal-sized beats, but ozma is huge or gargauntuan without a doubt, and you also said opmaga weapon is about 10 feet tall and wide, 15 long, which is huge or just large-sized, without question. Ultimate weapon may be gargantuan but certainly not colossal. You also didn't note size increases in monster advancement. A tonberry king DEFINITELY grows to medium size. Iron giant grows to huge size if it ever becomes a red giant, I'm pretty sure of that. Most outrageous of all was you not noting the fact that somehow a cactaur suddenly grows from tiny into colossal as a jumbo cactaur with a single measly HD advancement. That's more than a bit poor in execution. In all, pretty good first attempt, I'd say. BUT YOU DIDN'T HAVE A CHOCOBO! |

As such, and given that it is not listed in the Lancer class table, they are not really affixed to the class as currently drafted (and thereby useless). Haha, I'm glad you noticed that! Before the lancer could pick a skill instead of just gaining it, and it seems I never changed it to a progressive setting. I'll go back and clarify that ASAP. Thanks! Again, I had more clarification in an earlier version, but one of my player's thought it was redundant so I removed some things (the Summoner description is pretty lengthy after all). Reading it over, it was not necessary, and you are right. I have to be more careful when cutting stuff out. For me, as I played since 1E and Basic, I can easily make the change on my end, but may be a hitch for the younger audience. ;) There's no ambiguation for 10 rounds anymore? I'll get rid of it never the less, and clarify them as rounds. Finally, not a mistake but an observation, I am taking it that you are intending your FF rules to essentially be Epic level, given the requirements for the FF flavored class feats. Is this your intention? Yes indeed! Almost all of the feats can only be gained at epic levels. Most of them have level 20 class ability requirments or high BAB requirments. The spells however are NOT epic. I suggest extreme discretion when handing out obviously powerful spells and items. My player's (the highest 50) have yet to see anything like Ultima, or KoTR; or the like in items ect. Deal out weapons with a die multiplier based on the player's level divided by ten; and spells like Flare, Meteor and Ultima for post 50. Thank you so much. I know it must have taken you quite some time to read through the doc and retain all of those mistakes you found. I'm sure you found a lot more too! |

Weapons are neutral with exception of Omega (They are created by the planet as a defense) -- but Omega seems to be evil no matter what game it's in. As for the Moogles and Chocobo's; woops! I'll add them right away. For those of us that don't want to use the vague 99-level progression (which I think is most of your fans), would it be just fine to simply divide all challenge ratings and character level requirements and that such stuff by a factor of 4 and multiply the character's level by 4 for things that rely on his level for some limit breaks? So that rounds out to mighty creatures such as Ozma being a regular CR 25 (not bad at all). I'm not really sure about the whole level thing. I just did a straight conversion and haven't had the time to think it all out. It did bother me entering 99 for level all the time, and I do want to do something about it -- but I'm just not sure what to do yet! Maybe you've just got a fetish for colossal-sized beats, but ozma is huge or gargauntuan without a doubt, and you also said opmaga weapon is about 10 feet tall and wide, 15 long, which is huge or just large-sized, without question. I'll be honest with you. As of right now most of the monsters are copied and pasted from other monsters and there are a lot of mistakes. I also don't know much about building monsters -- but I'm trying to learn. Thank you for going through everything. This is a big task and I need help -- and you've given me tons! |
| Verelor11-05-05, 10:20 AM | Some of the ability scores of the mosnters were unbelievably astranomical (I wouldn't expect an overdiety to have 150...). Try to make them less arbitrary and you'll automatically get a lot less work on your hands. Well, I must sy, with the addition of a moogle and chocobo, you've really got all the basic, well-known FF monsters. It's just that some of them are plain over-the-top in what they can do and need to be nerfed to even be fun. Those mosnter links I gve you though...don't forget the value of them... |
| Verelor11-06-05, 04:13 PM | Here you go, as a gift, complete versions of the Weapon gaurdians: http://www.immortalshandbook.com/freestuff10.htm |
| raidzuo11-10-05, 05:34 PM | Nice. Even though he made some stuff up (like diamond dust on diamond weapon, and full regen when emerald weapon kills an opponent) -- this helps quite a bit. |

| raidzuo09-14-06, 09:27 AM | It took me a year, but I updated. Mostly balance issue through play testing. Have yet to add any races. |
| razorboy09-14-06, 01:17 PM | I'm personally not a huge fan of FF, but my players are, and the Materia system and other stuff in your FF conversion is fantastic and I'll be using some in my games. Amazing work, better than a lot of published material out there! This thread needs to be bumped on the regular basis! :D |
| Prince Indirian09-14-06, 02:34 PM | I really admire people with this kind of drive. You are just like the people who fix the various bugs that Kotor 2 suffered from. Thank God we have people like you. I need to find some people to game with though. |

I don't have any other people to test it for me besides my player's (though we've been running it for 6 or so years w/o problems). Post any problems you run into here, and we can fix it. |
| raidzuo09-22-06, 12:46 AM | Updated visuals. Enjoy! |

| Davith Bothain04-04-07, 06:22 PM | Thank you for getting rid of those dang +1 racial modifiers. They annoyed the heck out of me... I've yet to read this over in its entirety, so I've not a comprehensive understanding of the mechanics. I do, however, have a few points and questions: What progression do the bonus magic points follow after an ability score of 29? What are the physical properties of materia? Is it insubstantial or does it have a hardness? ...Hm. Fewer than I can recall. They came up while reading and yet I can only think of two now. Ah, well. I should come back to it later. I'll give it a more in-depth perusal when I return later this eve. Good job. |
| Valheru604-05-07, 07:59 AM | Finally read through it. I am impressed by what you have done, Raidzuo. I can't wait for you to finish it. Let me know when you are, alright? Well, good luck. |
| Leress04-14-07, 10:08 PM | http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=702385 Check out my review of this supplement...It's a little out of date but the rest of the review will be on this version. |

| Dyne05-02-07, 01:17 AM | This looks very interesting. I'm a huge FF fan, so I'll be sure to find a use for much of the material in here. I'll comment more when I've had the chance to take a closer look than just a quick glimpse. |
