Hey all, I need some help fleshing out my campaign....actually I need help with most of it....

Here's the main idea:
An odd mist has surrounded a small town, and no one from the town has been seen in weeks. The neighboring town has a few people with relatives in the trapped town, and are asking for help. The mayor himself has a sister there, and is offering a plot of land with its own farm stead as a reward.
The odd thing about the mist is that it is greenish in tint, and contact with the mist makes a person's skin grey, and causes their eyes to glaze over with a milky film. So far, the ailment only lasts a few days, but who knows what constant exposer would do to someone.....

Now I need a source, what to do with that source (fight it, plug it up, etc.)
And anything else (random NPC's,etc.) that would be helpful.

Thanks!!!

Cheers! :D

A few possibilities...

1. The rotting remains of a demideity (of blindness, dark, or the underground, possibly) who was buried beneath the town are starting to filter up and sicken the inhabitants. Only powerful magic, excavating and destroying the remains, or evacuating the town are possible solutions.

2. Invasion of plague demons. Most or all of the inhabitants have been eaten by them by the time the PCs figure out what's going on.

3. Experiment by a local necromancer gone horribly astray.

As for the long term effects of the sickness, a few ideas include permenant or temporary blindness, peeling skin, loss of hair, feelings of weakness, seizures, fainting, loss of feeling (numbness) in extremities, or, of course, slow or sudden death.

Is this meant to be a single adventure or the entire campaign?

Just a single adventure, on the way to and important quest. So nothing fancy, just needed some more ideas.

Thanks, Cheers! :D
