I'm a somewhat rookie when it comes to D&D, I've only been playing for a year now so I'm not completely inexperienced, but my DM wants me to run a game I'm willing it's just that I'm having trouble coming up with a new scenario for my group to play I've been taking ideas form Dungeon magezene, but every time I think of something good to work with I think "that'll never work". I just keep asking myself "what would I do if I was a player" and I keep on finding flaws in my idea. Please help me

What precisely is your problem. Are you having difficulty picking a campaign setting, are you trying to take others ideas and mix them into your own thing, or what. We need some specifics or we can't help very much.

Again, we need to know what things you want in your campaign. Any particular enemy? Any limitations on magic systems, e.g. no psionics, no incarnum? Are certain races restricted?
I really need a bit more information to put any ideas out. I could basically say anything at this point. because I have no direction.

You may want to purchase Forgotten Realms, Greyhawk, or Eberron core books since they present pre-designed campaign settings. All the races, classes, magic, etc are presented. As you grow more comfortable, you can create your own areas, prestige classes, and monsters.

If you don't mind doing a bit of reading, you should check out the Build A City thread. You might find some inspiration there.

Also, don't be afraid to start small. Maybe all of the PCs are prisoners on a prisoner transport ship.

The how and why behind how each one of them got there can be up to the players; it can range anywhere from being caught stealing or being framed for a crime they didn't commit. The ship got caught in a storm or whatever and crashed upon a mysterious and unexplored land. The PCs must band together to survive in this world where they are outsiders. Encounters could be just about anything: unusual beasts, trying to learn the language of a tribe of natives so that they can diplomacy their way into getting help, and etc...
