If you know me, which you most likely don't, I try to go as far out from the rules as possible. This world has a very bizarre story, and I must admit that it was rough getting it to work.

Illia

There is disagreement on the name of the new planet, so we will call it Terra.

A History

It was the year 2042 on planet Earth when the Catalyst occurred. The Catalyst was a collision of the universes in a spiritual and physical way. No one knows for sure why or how it happened, but it was forseen. A few theorists actually predicted the Catalyst by monitoring shifts in human consciousness, and they were ridiculed for it. They mainly believed it would be the end of the multiverse.

All life must have lost consciousness, for they awoke under an unfamiliar sky. This period of sleep was called the Soul Slumber. No one knew where they were or how they got there. But the fact was they were there to live or to die. Whole cities were ripped from other planets and somehow placed unharmed on the new planet, and the planet itself took on characteristics from those that it was created from.

--Early Ages

0 ASA (After the Soul Awakening): The awakening of souls left people seemingly evenly distributed throughout the world. Terra was not for the weak, and nearly all members of formerly advanced races died due to their dependence on technology they did not have. Those who found cities fared better by working together and so the first kingdoms sprouted from the soil.

2 ASA: The newly founded kingdoms are assaulted by the orcs and other lesser creatures who thrived due to not being dependent on technology. The Malice, as this alliance was later called, was defeated and largely exterminated when Marius Bygora, a Feuno, and twenty thousand followers marched from the city of Sergian to Zenia, where he successfully defeated and routed the Malice back to their caves in the Sadith mountains and established the Kingdom of Bygoth with the conquered Zenia as the capital.

While Marius Bygora was fighting the Malice, the kingdom of Florsen was already established to the south since and had had a lot less trouble from the Malice, that was not very organized in the region, King Reynold of Florsen had already claimed the whole of Nneuma Isle and was exploring inland from the Florsen capital of Rome.

7 ASA: Flor explorers first meet Bygoths after sailing into Lake Reynold from Kenat and arriving in Sergian. Things started on the wrong foot for the two kingdoms almost immediately when King Reynold imposed heavy taxes on Bygoth ships passing through Kenat on their way into the Illian Sea, and on ships passing through Nneuma Strait, a shortcut for ships heading to the spice rich lands of Nilfret in the south. On top of that, the Bygoth port city of Morik and the Flor port city of Sarim were constantly arguing over fishing territory. Many did, and many still do, believe that the two powers will go to war, but they have yet to do so.

19 ASA: After things had calmed down considerably between the two nations, they set their eyes to the sea and engaged in a sort of exploration race. Bygoth quickly claimed the nearby Isle Sallmond and Begotta to the northeast, while Florsen took control of Serat to the east.

24 ASA: The Bygoths were pleased with their new land assets, and turned again to local affairs, such as defense in the case of war with the recently confirmed more powerful kingdom of Florsen. Florsen however was still hungry for knowledge of the world. This is when the island of New Kelvis was discovered by western Illia. King Reynold immediately dispatched a fleet to capture New Kelvis and enslave her intelligent lizard-like inhabitants. Although slightly less intelligent than the humans of Florsen, the Kelvians were brutally strong and stood near 7 feet tall. The floor fleet made the arrogant folly of bringing all their ships into the later named “Gore Bay” where the entire Kelvian Navy, thought to be non existent by the Flor, bottled them in and forced them to take the only route of escape available, land. Every single one of the Flor troops was landed haphazardly on the beaches of Gore Bay. The panicked and disorganized soldiers were ambushed and quickly cut down by an uknown force of dark skinned humanoids with backwards jointed kneecaps. It is later revealed that these were Kendmer, from the powerful city-state of Byza, to the far east across the Illian sea, who had been peacefully trading with the Kelvians for years.

25 ASA: Many Flor soldiers escaped from the Gore Bay and to the southeastern coast of New Kelvis, where they inhabited the city of Shepperport, a city from the Kelvian home planet. Later that year that peacefully joined the Kelvians, making them the most racially diverse state known.

Cities (largest to smallest)

Byza

Byza is a very large and rich city-state on the eastern continent of Wendel. It is in close proximity with Oryin, a mid-sized island with enormous amounts of gold which Byza trades to New Kelvis and Renes regularly. Byza is ruled by the most powerful wizard in Illia as of 34 ASA, Zerian Bitters, who lives in a thousand foot tall tower in the center of the city. It is rumored that he is training apprentices to use magic as he does. Byza originates from the Kendmer world.
--Population 1,314,000
78% Kendmer
12% Kelvian
8% Human
2% Other
Rome

Rome is the capital of the Florsen kingdom. It is seen as the most cultured city of the known world. Rome overlooks the Nneuma strait, a vital position to control trade to and from Nilfret and Jerus. Rome is home to the Daggers, a notorious crime sindicate whose influence stretches even to many of the islands. Rome originates from the Human world.
--Population 824,000
82% Human
10% Feuno
8% Other

Karthegos

Karthegos is the capital of the Kingdom of New Kelvis. It is famous for being the tallest city in the known world with buildings that reach nearly a thousand feet into the sky. Karthegos is a very industrial city, and exports more goods than any other city. The origin of Karthegos is uknown, it is not Kelvish.
--Population 720,000
53% Kelvian
33% Human
12% Kendmer
2% Other

Renes

Renes is a city-state much like Byza. Like Byza, it is a home to the Kendmer, and because of this the two are closely allied. Because of it’s northern position, farming is not a viable option so the citizens hunted and gathered until about 20 ASA when they began importing food from Byza and the surrounding suburbs. Renes is said to have the best blacksmiths and the best quality weapons and armor. Renes controls Frost Port to the north, the only city on the inhospitable Glaren sea, and a population of 1500 Kendmer. Renes is of Feuno origin.
--Population 598,000
84% Kendmer
10% Feuno
6% Other

Zenia

Zenia is the capital of the Bygoth kingdom. It is a fortress city famous for it’s massive 300 foot tall walls. Zenia holds a mythical value to the Feuno, for it was obviously made by their people, yet it is uknown to them. Zenia is the farming capital of Illia, surrounded with good soil and an abundance of foliage.
--Population 456,000
100% Feuno

Sergian

Sergian is the former capital of Bygoth and a major port city. It is less popular than it once was however, for the Flor city of Kenat enforces heavy taxes on Bygoth ships sailing own the Lurus river into the grand Illian sea, and many of it’s inhabitants have moved to Zenia where they may trade more freely. Sergian is of Kelvian origin.
--Population 135,000
100% Feuno

Kenat

Kenat, often called “the golden port” is an extremely rich trading city. Frequent caravans sail for Nilfret to the south and Byza to the east, while the city garrison collects tolls from the Feuno inhabitants of Sergian passing through. Kenat is of Human origin.
--Population 62,000
86% Human
10% Kelvian
4% Kendmer

Geography

Illia is a lush and fertile land, with the nearly endless lines of berry patches and fruit bearing trees near the equator. Illia does not encompass Terra, it is but a region that occupies an uknown percent of the massive planet, thought to be many times larger than Earth, and luckily gravitationally weaker, an after effect of the cataclysm. Illia is made up of two continents divided by a sea dotted with many islands small and large. Jerus, the eastern continent, is home to Bygoth and Florsen, to the south of Jerus, beyond a huge rain forest, is the Indian-like nation of Nilfret, not part of Illia. In the middle of the sea, lies New Kelvis, and on the western continent, Wendel, lies Renes, Byza, and the minor kingdom of Khazard, a desert kingdom that no one wants to conquer because of the extreme heat and poor land quality. Jerus stretches North to a huge glacier. The northern part of Jerus is separated from Bygoth and Florsen by a mountain range. The area north of the mountains is uknown, with the coast mapped out only. Wendel, however, is bordered to the north by the Galren sea, a frigid ocean infested with dangerous water serpents and other monsters. The city of Frostport on the Galren sea is a meeting place for rogues of Northern Wendel.

Technology

Illian technology is comparable to the level of technology present on Faerun in the forgotten realms. People are again learning to use gun powder, but bows, swords, and other archaic weapons still make up the vast majority of the weapons arsenal. Cities in Illia are full of towering buildings and advanced technology that no longer works, as the laws of physics themselves were changed during the catalyst. Most people accept the theory that god himself was angry at how humans grew away from him through the use of technology, and took away the ability to create advanced technology.

Magic

Magic was discovered incredibly quickly through dreams. Some gifted people have the power to channel the arcane energy using their own mind as a conduit. Chants are normally mental, and reagents are required for fire and frost spells, but arcane spells, such as arcane missles, are purely mentally powered. Wizards can enchant weapons with powerful enchantments, but for most wizards, the weapons will only work within a certain distance of their enchanters, and is a drain upon their power. To fully and permanently enchant a weapon, there must be a consciousness given to the weapon. This can be done in two ways. The enchanter can sacrifice his mind to the weapon, or very powerful wizards can create an artificial consciousness for the weapon. Psionicism is thought to be non-existent.

Religion

No god has made themselves overtly known yet. However, there have been miraculous things happening that could be explained only by the existence of a god. Some people still follows the religions of their old world, but most believe the catalyst was the result of civilization falling out of favor with their gods.
