| Straploknight09-11-07, 10:10 PM | Okay, so this has been burning a hole in my brain for some time, I've had this rather simple map of an island (http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b303/bossco/CharthJ.jpg) for awhile now and I've decided to do something with it. I've wrestling with the idea of a world built up from the ashes of the old world, one where the gods of that world sacrificed themselves to create a new world, in doing so they infused their essence with the protoworld and when the new world was formed, this essence manifested itself in the form of incarnum and psionics. There are no deities in this new world - so no clerics or druids (although I considered using druids since they would have derived thier powers from the land itself) Instead I've been messing with idea of using classes from the Expanded Psionics Handbook, Complete Psionic, Magic of Incarnum, Tome of Magic, and Book of the Nine Swords. Ardent, Lurk - Incarnate, Soulborn, Totemist - Binder, Truenamer - Psion, Psychic Warrior, Soulknife, Wilder, Swordsage. And for races (and rather than sctach build them), I went with races from Magic of Incarnum. Expanded Psionics Handbook, and Races of the Wild Dromite, Maened, Xeph - Duskling, Rilkan, Skarn - Raptoran, Killoren. The premise for the classes would be rather than develop along normal lines, in this magic/psionic rich world, the various cultures simply incorperated this "deific spark" into thier various professions - As for Binders I was thinking along the lines of the vestiges taking aspecial interest in this world and more or less shielding it from interloper gods and using binders as thier agents to insure no deities gain a foothold there, Truenamers - rare indivduals who have discovered the actual remnants of the gods themselves and are learning the very worlds of creation, however is doing so may unleash another cataclysm if they are not careful. Swordsage - I'm still giving this some thought, I may prune this class, I may not????? Thoughts, comments, advice, observations???? |
