I am currently creating a town based on the Eberron campaign setting. Preparing myself for that, I started to create a spreadsheet in Excel with all the nations in Eberron and the towns and cities marked in the maps. The thing is that I found some inconsistencies while preparing my spreadsheet. Some settlements marked as villages, or small towns in the maps, are mentioned in the text with another type.

For example, the settlement of New Cyre in Breland is marked as a village in the map, but when you read the text about it, it says that New Cyre is a Small City with more than 4,000 habitants!

I looked for the book’s errata in the Wizard of the Coast website, but it don’t mention the inconsistencies between the texts and the maps.

Do I should thrust the map or the text? Does someone know where I can find more information on the settlements of all the nations in Khorvaire?

Thanks in advance for the help.

Ah, the old 'the maps of Eberron Don't work' problem. We've all been there... Most of us more than once, lol. Trust me when I say, the maps of Eberron really don't work with the what the text implies, at least that's how many of us see it (here's a good link that voices many different people's concerns (http://forums.gleemax.com/showthread.php?t=918012) (though its more of a 'the map is too large' than a 'the symbols don't match.').

At any rate, I would definitely go with what the text of the Eberron book states, over any map. The maps all have a few inconsistencies and i wouldn't trust them as far as I could throw them (though, obviously they're too pretty to throw, lol).
