Info about designing a World. [Archive] - Wizards Community

Hey there Everyone. I am not so much looking for help designing the world, more like looking for Idea's on How to go about it. This is the General Idea i got so far, but want to see if anyone else has any input.

- Design the World Map, add Countries/regions, etc etc.
- Do a standerd Write-up of the Countries/Regions (Name, Population, Exports, Power Players of the region, City Info, and Descriptions)
- History of the land/world
- Politics Between each area
- Adventure Idea's as notes as you create.
- Deities (if there are any)
- Special Rules about magic (Like the Weave?)

If there is anything here i missed, or should be added, or what have yas, let me know :)

If no gods explain Divine Magic (Clerics and Paladins)
And is there Psionics.
other than that i would say your right.

I think a world is better if the concept is thought out before you begin with maps or kingdoms.
