Khallhadras The girl is fine, merely unconscious and alive thanks to you brave souls Khallhadras The sage looking women states just that as she approaches you, leaving the healing to a few younger initiates <XeroGold> Good. XeroGold looks over to the tree WEstabos Glares at tree Fellith_Dranor I turn and look at the approaching woman. Khallhadras As you all stand there, random individuals brought together by a common cause, soot staining your face and blood caking your garment and forms from the slain dead, the women incites cheers among the peasents directed at every single one of you Narris uses detect evil <WEstabos> Leans on spear and waves at crowd " Thank you, thank you all in a day's work..." Fellith_Dranor I smile and wave at the crowd of people and then refocus on the sage. As i reposition my goggles I ask her. "So why in the world is there an evil tree growing here? Khallhadras The crowds jeers drown out the rash adventurers comment <XeroGold> "Tree seems kinda harmless without cleric and his Jilza-what's-his-god" Narris keeps detect evil going, deciding to keep it going at all times <Khallhadras> "Jilazirill..is a mockery of a god, not a god of light be it known" states the hunched, silvery-haired women WEstabos Walks toward Ijkela "Looks like you were right <Khallhadras> "And the tree...the tree has been here ever since I can remember, an emblem of evil and it's works..: <Fellith_Dranor> "Hmm, well you can rest asure that Jilazirill shall not be bother you anymore." <XeroGold> "well,..lets just stick a sign to it, 'No evil clerics' " <Khallhadras> "It was said to have been planted by a traveling cleric whom turned to petty emotions and destruction" <WEstabos> "And no dead bodies either" <Narris> "Do you mind not invoking the name?" <vinny_greybeard> says "cut down the tree and the evil stops" <Khallhadras> "But you..you have saved the unexpectant villagers. However our blight will sadly continue...the tree can only be felled by an artifact lost to all history, said to be contained in a long lost and ancient ruins high in the mountains" <XeroGold> "If it's been here for a long time, I'd hink someone would have already tried to cut it down <Narris> "I'm sure it would find new ways to spread evil." <WEstabos> "How long as this tree been here for ?" Khallhadras The old women looks at you prudently and turns her back, but not before saying <Narris> (If I was playing a dwarf, I know what I'd do) <Khallhadras> "After I have taken care of the injured you should join me in our humble village. You can join me in my homestead for a warm cup of tea and adesrving hero's introduction <Narris> (By the way, what's the xp for this?) Khallhadras The lady returns to patching up the injured and you stand faced with each other, the heroe's of today but easily forgotten and lost in the pages of history <Khallhadras> (590 exp to all) <Narris> "I don't go much for hero's introductions. While I'm being chatted up, someone's getting stabbed in an alley." <Fellith_Dranor> (gotta go afk for a sec, the misses need the comp be right back) WEstabos Looks at the group and waves " The name is Silas, nice work today." <Khallhadras> (Yea, this is your chance for rp, finally) <XeroGold> "Yes,.we did do unexpectedly well as a team." <XeroGold> "I'm Gil by the way" <WEstabos> "Well met" WEstabos Nods head at Gil <vinny_greybeard> "that was fun. My name is Donk" <WEstabos> "So what brought everyone to this wonderful region of the world " <XeroGold> "You fight well Donk" <Fellith_Dranor> Glad to meet all of you. My name is Kelwyn. <Narris> "I came to see the show, didn't you?" WEstabos Nods toward Kelwyn and looks at Ijkela <WEstabos> "So did you presume something like this was gonna happen ?" <vinny_greybeard> "O a, just traveling." <Fellith_Dranor> I had no idea of any of this even being here. I was merly passing through on my way to the next town. <Narris> "You mean this doesn't happen every day, somewhere, sometime?" <WEstabos> "Because it would have been nice if you gave a little bit of a warning WEstabos Shrugs " Oh well, water under the bridge..." <Narris> "Evil always rears it's ugly head." <Fellith_Dranor> Indeed it does. <WEstabos> "By the way, has anyone checked that cleric's body for any items of interest that might shine some light on things ?" Fellith_Dranor Laughs. <Fellith_Dranor> No not yet, that might be good idea. <WEstabos> "I could do it if anyone is a little queasy about that" Fellith_Dranor Shrugs and motions towards the body. <Fellith_Dranor> After you. <XeroGold> "My apologies, but I had a friend in own who I'm afraid I'm going to miss a meeting with if I don't hurry. I'll meet back up when I can, prehaps over a nice cup of tea." ((Sorry all, it's late and I must be going)) <WEstabos> (What should I roll ?) <Fellith_Dranor> (thanks for hte game Xero) <WEstabos> "Farewell friend" <WEstabos> ( Have a good nite) <Khallhadras> (Search) <Fellith_Dranor> (i am going to assist) <WEstabos> (Ok) <Khallhadras> (Assist=aid another so add +2 to your search check) XeroGold hurries towards town. <Fellith_Dranor> Travel safe GIl, till we meet again! <XeroGold> ((Nice plaing with you all, cya next saterday (barring any compy problems, again, my sorrries for being late)) <taur> WEstabos rolled [d20+3] : 8 + 3 = 11. XeroGold has left Labyrinth <Fellith_Dranor> (Did he find anything?) Khallhadras Quit (Connection reset by peer (TCP/IP connection broken)) Khallhadras has entered the room (hostname: XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX) <Fellith_Dranor> (wb) Fellith_Dranor has left the room Fellith_Dranor has entered the room (hostname: XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX) <WEstabos> (fingers crossed) Khallhadras Within the clerics many folds is a seasoned scroll with strange ruins etched on it, two scrolls written more previously and scrawled in common, and clenched in the maniacal clerics dead hands a knife that seems to shine with an unnatural white gleam Khallhadras There is also a strange signet wring worn around the clerics left index finger <Khallhadras> (I'll need appraise and decipher script checks) <WEstabos> "Well, these should hold our interest for now" <WEstabos> ( I don't decipher script, I'm not trained for that one) <Fellith_Dranor> (i can't till i lvl up some more) <Khallhadras> (If you have it as a skill just roll) <Khallhadras> (Anyone can roll for appraise) <taur> WEstabos rolled [d20+1] : 11 + 1 = 12. <taur> Fellith_Dranor rolled [1d20+1] : 6 + 1 = 7. <taur> Fellith_Dranor rolled [1d20+1] : 20 + 1 = 21. <WEstabos> (thats my appraise roll, I don't have decipher script) <Fellith_Dranor> second roll is for decipher Khallhadras The seasoned script remains undeciphered, even as Kewlyn studys it with a profound and intense gaze Fellith_Dranor He looks at the scrolls and studies their markings and he nods his head. <Fellith_Dranor> One scroll holds the power of lightning and the other of fire. <Fellith_Dranor> As for the script, this is something evil. <WEstabos> "That should come in handy, any luck telling what this third scroll holds in it ?" Fellith_Dranor Holds up the script and points at the symbols on it. <WEstabos> "Understandably, where do you think we can aquire knowledge about the knife and ring ?" <Fellith_Dranor> I can not tell you what it is for, but this dog like symbol is something not to take lightly. <Khallhadras> (If your teammates would aid another or just use appraisal skill...but I think they are all dead) <Fellith_Dranor> We will need to find a scholar or perhaps a priest for help with this script. <WEstabos> (Vinny and Narris, you guys gonna check too ?) <WEstabos> "Then we should head to town and we can find out where to meet with the old woman later" <Khallhadras> (She is still tending to injured) <vinny_greybeard> yes <Fellith_Dranor> Agreed, we should head to town and try and find some answeres. <WEstabos> "Is everyone ready ?" <vinny_greybeard> "lets go." Khallhadras Before the group leaves the old women approahces you and begs it off the party as a whole to escort her and the sickly peasents back to the nearest village Khallhadras It seems the fighting has left both emotional and physichal marks on mind and soul for these innocent victims <WEstabos> "Whatever, it won't detract from our efforts" <Fellith_Dranor> I see nothing wrong with helping those that need us. <Fellith_Dranor> (so who has what items?) <Khallhadras> (Noone took them) <Fellith_Dranor> (lol) <Khallhadras> (you are still at the scene...two scrolls undecipherable scroll dagger signet ring) <Fellith_Dranor> (i guess i will grab the dagger if no one objects.) lordspecineff13 has entered the room (hostname: XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX) <WEstabos> (Go for it) <Fellith_Dranor> (and do yall want me to keep the evil script thingy or does somebody else want to carry it?) <WEstabos> (You can take it, I'll hold the ring and two scrolls for now) <Fellith_Dranor> (ok) WEstabos Packs the signet ring and two scrolls into backpack Fellith_Dranor Places the dagger and script in his backpack. Khallhadras Quit (Web Browser closed) Khallhadras has entered the room (hostname: XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX) <Khallhadras> Meh Fellith_Dranor And wonders what happened to the rest of his newly found friends. Why are they all standing there staring at the sky, and drooling? <WEstabos> "I think we're ready" WEstabos Taps Ijkela <lordspecineff13> (WEst> You have to pay 10 black mana first.) <WEstabos> "Come on Paladin, your job is not done yet" <Fellith_Dranor> (I think we are the only ones left) <WEstabos> (huh ?) <lordspecineff13> (MtG joke) Khallhadras As the well-guarded convoy slowly creeps through the surrounding forest on the left-most trail (the obvious direction to the town) a hail and hearty youth acts as a herald to prepare a heroes welcoming for the brave and valient souls whom saved amnay innocent from the devious and under-handed cleric's wrath Khallhadras Nearing town a great tumult of cheers and joyous celebration can be heard as the wizened and helpful old women pulls the party off to the side <WEstabos> (Gottcha, I can untap my character now too right ?) Fellith_Dranor Thinks to himself, "Its not everyday that you come across an evil cleric and become a hero." WEstabos Whispers to Kelwyn <WEstabos> "Nice reception huh ?" Fellith_Dranor Whispers back. <Khallhadras> "These people tend to get a bit over joyous when elebration presents itself these dark days, would you mind bypassing all this nonsense and coming to my peaceful and may I add secluded cottage for tea? <Fellith_Dranor> Yeah not bad. <Khallhadras> (Celebration*) <WEstabos> "I guess, its not like we are getting paid for this anyways" <Fellith_Dranor> ~smirks at teh comment~ It would be an honor to have tea with you. <WEstabos> Adjusts backpack and follows old woman Khallhadras One by one each of you furtively splinters from the trailing convoy and delve deep into the woods, treading over amany hill and mound before reaching a humble thatched cottage in a secluded clearing, trees springing up to every side of the cottage and a stream running on the cottage's right <Narris> "Don't drink tea, meself. I'd like to be on the lookout for anything on the loose." <Khallhadras> (you live?) <Fellith_Dranor> (lol) <Khallhadras> (More than I can say for poor vinny, he is getting applauded and mercilessly accoladed by unrelenting peasent dealing 1d20+50 points of sincerity damage right now) <Khallhadras> (accoladed*) <Fellith_Dranor> (lol, poor poor thing) <WEstabos> (I could think of worst ways to go) Khallhadras As you enter the homestead you can see that the home as a whole is very rustic and seemingly built from scratch and the surrounding wildlife <vinny_greybeard> (sorry on the phone with my girlfriend) <Khallhadras> (Heh) <Fellith_Dranor> (sigh my turn to go afk, be right back) <WEstabos> (afk, bathroom break) Khallhadras She sits you down to a table seemingly crafted from a wood stump and goes to the nearby stream to fetch some water to make the tea after starting a fire near that very stream <Narris> "I've gone this long and nothing's tried to kill me. Something's wrong." Khallhadras She has not the seats to accomodate the lot of you so Donk is made to stand up in the small kitchen, forced to duck because of the cottage's low and slight build <WEstabos> (bak) Khallhadras Upon coming inside and setting the tea to boil outside the prudent and tabescent women calls in her shrill voice "Here Fefe", which is shortly followed by a mass of fur pouncing unto Ijkela's head and landing on the floor, nearly knocking Ijkela to the floor from surprise Narris nearly impales it Khallhadras The shriveled women bends as far as her already stooped frame allows and strokes her cat's tawny coat <vinny_greybeard> "wow your mope has a name." WEstabos Smirks at Ijkela's reaction <vinny_greybeard> (mop) Khallhadras The old women turns her nose upright at Donk's tactless comment and calls out "Tea" - Private from WizO_Unicorn- To all: (New to D&D, or just to playing online? Join WizO_Unicorn in the Great Hall for a 1st-level training game using pregenerated characters!) <WEstabos> "Well, before all the niceties, what did you bring us here to talk about ?" Khallhadras A kettle of tea floats through the slightly ajar door as the old dame prepares the cups, the kettle emptying it's contents into each of your cups <Fellith_Dranor> (back) <WEstabos> "Nice trick" Fellith_Dranor Raises an eyebrow at the floating kettle. "You are talented in many ways it seems." Khallhadras The silver-haired and hunched old women feebily clears her throat and replies <Khallhadras> "I have brought you hear so as to save you from the peasents...but also for my own and more discreet reasons <Khallhadras> "To dispose of all the niceties as you said..I have brought you here because I have a potential problem you see" Narris has detect evil still going <vinny_greybeard> "what's the problem?" <WEstabos> "And that is...?" <Khallhadras> "That tree...it was planted by my now deceased husband" says the older women crestfallen and truely contrite Fellith_Dranor Looks a little taken aback. <vinny_greybeard> "how is that a problem?" <Khallhadras> "He..He was once a good man, but he delved to far into his study's and was consumed in madness." <Khallhadras> "This tree was his last will...it sprung from his buried corpse aided by the untapped magics he now posessed..it serves as a reminder of evil's grasp on this world, and personally it serves me as a morbid reminder of how my dearly beloved husband took a turn for the worse in his old age" WEstabos Rubs chin <Fellith_Dranor> So that is why we had such a hard time hurting itn. It is infused with his magic. <WEstabos> "Well, this is a very unique situation" Khallhadras The woman's eyes take on a serious and ashamed contrast as opposed to her previous happyness, this shortly followed by a deep and prudent gaze <vinny_greybeard> "What do you want us to do about it?" <Khallhadras> "Yes..Yes it is so" <Khallhadras> "I want the reminder of my husband's darkest hours removed..and removed for good" <Khallhadras> "I would do it myself, however these bones are not stout or my magic as powerful to travel and fight anymore <vinny_greybeard> "How?" <Fellith_Dranor> "Well we had already tried to destory the tree but our efforts proved useless. Do you know of another way to do so?" <Khallhadras> "He left behind a scroll...a scroll with various hints on the last spell he invoked, the very spell that also brought about his demise" <Fellith_Dranor> "And where is this scroll? <Khallhadras> "From what I can gather you must gather about the remains of a long-gone bugbear king known as lokth-tirith" <Khallhadras> "In my studies, but it is not something to be fully comprehended or observed in one single sitting" <WEstabos> "Can you do a small favor for us first ?" <Khallhadras> "With these remains I could invoke powerful and shamanistic energies, energies invoked by this bugbear before his demise, energies that every bird, tree, shrub, and stream is infused with" <Khallhadras> "And what would you ask of me, travelers?" WEstabos Looks at Kelwyn " Maybe she can tell us what the scroll says" Fellith_Dranor Removes the scroll from his backpack. Khallhadras The woman eagerly grabs the scroll and scans it over with her eyes <Fellith_Dranor> Do you have any idea what this scroll might be? We found it on the crazed cleric. Khallhadras As you watch an appaled look takes over the women's visage, and after several intense moments of studying the scroll she speaks in a weakened and dainty voice <Khallhadras> "This..I know this" whispers the old and grey woman, her voice almost so low as to be inaudible <Fellith_Dranor> "What is it?" Khallhadras Her mouth is struggling to move now as her hands violently shake and her whole body breaks into a convulsion Fellith_Dranor Steps fowards and holds her steady. Khallhadras The convulsions soon reside leaving the hunched women standing as she was before, scroll barely clenched in her hands, and her eyes a lifeless, unknowing grey. <WEstabos> "Are you ok ?" Fellith_Dranor Takes the scroll back out of her hands and takes a step back to look at her. WEstabos Walks over to her and rests hand on her shoulder Khallhadras The baying of a shrill hound can be heard outside of the humble cottage, an unearthly howl that cuts through the air and the soul, followed by an eerie silence that seemingly settles over the world as a whole <WEstabos> "Its going to be ok" Khallhadras Quit (Connection reset by peer (TCP/IP connection broken)) Khallhadras has joined Labyrinth (hostname: XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX) <Khallhadras> (Sorry bout that) <WEstabos> (No problem, you came back) Khallhadras Be the eldritch sound an actual hound or a more malicious form of evil you know not, but the howl sounds closer than you would like <Khallhadras> (What were the responses?) Fellith_Dranor Looks all around and then looks back at the old woman. WEstabos Stares at the door <Fellith_Dranor> "What is that?!" <Narris> "Watch all the entrances." <WEstabos> "That does sound too good" Narris moves to side of door, detect evil going <WEstabos> (Any windows ?) vinny_greybeard moves to window and looks to see whats outside <WEstabos> (That answers my question) <Khallhadras> (Fortitude save Narris) <Khallhadras> (No windows) <Khallhadras> (Thatched cottage) <WEstabos> (Gottcha) Fellith_Dranor Rolls up the scroll and puts it back in his pack. <Khallhadras> (Did you chance to look at the scroll fellith? To taur >: !roll 1d20+3 <taur> Narris rolled [1d20+3] : 3 + 3 = 6. <Fellith_Dranor> (no i just took it from her and then with all the commotion i'm just putting it away so it doesn't get damaged.) <Fellith_Dranor> (still not sure what it is after all. ;) ) Khallhadras A lambent, bloody red glow emanates from Kelwyn's pack Fellith_Dranor Drops the scroll into the pack and looks at his hand expecting it to be burnt. Khallhadras Narris is propped against the doorway, leaning heavily against it's wooden frame and grasping his throat <Khallhadras> (Ijkela, my apologies) <Narris> That works <Khallhadras> (another fort save Narris <WEstabos> "What is it Ijkela ?" To taur >: !roll 1d20+3 <taur> Narris rolled [1d20+3] : 3 + 3 = 6. <Narris> lol Fellith_Dranor I set my pack on the table and open it back up and try to snatch teh scroll back out of the pack while touching it as little as possible. vinny_greybeard walks to door "are you hurt?" WEstabos Follows behind Donk Fellith_Dranor Looks up towards Ijkela. <Fellith_Dranor> "What's wrong?" Khallhadras From the red and ferine dog design stylized upon the unknown parchment dissemanates an eldritch, maroon glow that alights the whole cottage, the surroundings as if awash with blood <WEstabos> Looks back at Kelwyn "We're trying to find that out ourselves " WEstabos Grips Spear tight shocked by sudden magic in the cottage To taur >: !roll 1d20+3 <taur> Narris rolled [1d20+3] : 15 + 3 = 18. <Narris> "There's some dark arts trying to squeeze the life of me!" <Fellith_Dranor> "This doesn't look good" Khallhadras Ijkela's hands slowly reach from his throat to his waste and color returns to his cheecks. A look of appal is upon his face and he seems horrified to an intense degree <Khallhadras> (Apall) <Narris> "There's a lot of evil on the other side of that door." <vinny_greybeard> (is there a back door?) Khallhadras The sigil glows more intense than even the brightest of fires, a burst of crimson red light feeling the cottage in all it's malevolence <Khallhadras> (Will saves all) <Khallhadras> (No back door) <taur> Fellith_Dranor rolled [1d20+2] : 16 + 2 = 18. <taur> vinny_greybeard rolled [d20] : 6 <Khallhadras> (filling) <taur> WEstabos rolled [d20+2] : 5 + 2 = 7. <Khallhadras> (Narris and West will saves plz) To taur >: !roll 1d20+1 <taur> Narris rolled [1d20+1] : 14 + 1 = 15. Khallhadras You are all stricken blind by the wickedly livid light, and your brains are awash with both pain and fear Khallhadras The humble cottages door can be heard through your confusion, it is as if 1,000 strong bodies are battering up against it in an attempt to bring the door down Khallhadras The hellish scene continues, a myriad of emotions overtaking your body and the door louder than ever, now a fervent beating as if a host of demons seeking entry Fellith_Dranor Tries to shake it off and attempts to draw his dagger. Khallhadras The door seems as if about to buckle and the light flares to it's apex. Then...nothing vinny_greybeard in pain and confusion runs at the back wall yelling "run" Fellith_Dranor Draws his dagger and then drops it as another wave of pain washes over him. WEstabos Tries to focus thoughts to gain control of himself Khallhadras The horrifying sound stops....your vision slowly returns, and the emotions that overwhelmed you mere moments ago have reduced themselves to horrible feelings...but not near as extreme as they once were <Khallhadras> (Spot checks) To taur >: !roll 1d20+2 <taur> Narris rolled [1d20+2] : 15 + 2 = 17. Fellith_Dranor Shakes his head and looks around to see what happened, Still a little shaken up. <taur> Fellith_Dranor rolled [1d20+1] : 20 + 1 = 21. <Fellith_Dranor> (woot) <taur> vinny_greybeard rolled [d20] : 20 <Fellith_Dranor> (nice) <taur> WEstabos rolled [d20] : 4 Narris readies sword Fellith_Dranor Looks down at his left hand and visibly shakes a little. WEstabos Looks at Door <Fellith_Dranor> What is this? <WEstabos> "Something really was trying to get in" <Fellith_Dranor> I think it might have. <vinny_greybeard> "kelyn, whats on your hand? WEstabos Gets to one knee <WEstabos> "Everyone ok ?" <Fellith_Dranor> ~In a kinda shaky voice~ Its the same symbol from teh scroll. <Fellith_Dranor> And it is nothing but evil. <WEstabos> "Damn it" WEstabos Stands up with help of his spear Khallhadras Quit (Web Browser closed) <vinny_greybeard> to old woman "can you help him?" Khallhadras has entered the room (hostname: XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX) Fellith_Dranor He rubs the back of his left hand with his right hand and looks back towards the scroll and he freezes as he realizes that the symbol on his hand is in fact the same symobl from teh scoll. Fellith_Dranor He points at teh scroll starting to pani a little. <Fellith_Dranor> It...it....on me now......how...? <WEstabos> "Try and be calm, we have to find out what we can do about this thing" Fellith_Dranor He grabs the scroll and holds it up to show the empty sport where the symbol used to be. <Fellith_Dranor> "It seems this thing does what it wants!" Khallhadras Quit (Web Browser closed) WEstabos Grabs left leg Khallhadras has entered the room (hostname: XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX) <WEstabos> "Ahhh dammit!!!!" WEstabos Leans against wall and rolls up left pant leg Fellith_Dranor His arms drop a little as he looks at Silias. <Fellith_Dranor> What is it?! Khallhadras On the lower portion of Silas'es left leg is the very same mark that is upon Kelwyn's right palm WEstabos Slides down wall, slightly in shock vinny_greybeard starts to howl in oain slapping his back <WEstabos> "What happened...???" WEstabos Looks at Donk Fellith_Dranor Looks from Silias to Donk. <vinny_greybeard> "there a pain in my back" <Fellith_Dranor> This is getting really strange... Fellith_Dranor Walks behind Donk and looks at his back <Fellith_Dranor> Lift up your shirt. <WEstabos> "I think I know what it is we'll see there..." <Khallhadras> (Donk is bare-chested) <Fellith_Dranor> (lol, even better. No extra work.) Khallhadras Plainly carved into Donk's muscular back is the very same, bloody-red symbol of an enigmatic dog Fellith_Dranor Looks at his back and his face flushes white for a second. <vinny_greybeard> "what is it?" Fellith_Dranor Holds up his right hand and points at it. Fellith_Dranor Points at his right hand with his left. <Fellith_Dranor> "its the same mark." <Fellith_Dranor> It seems we've been cursed...or branded perhaps. <vinny_greybeard> "how did it get there?" <Fellith_Dranor> I don't know, but we all seem to have one. Fellith_Dranor Looks to Ijkela and raises an eyebrow. <Narris> "Hmmmm?" <WEstabos> "Well, what about Ijkela ? <Fellith_Dranor> Were you not marked?! <Narris> ".... <Narris> " Fellith_Dranor Takes a step towards Ijkela starting to look accusing. WEstabos Stands up again and rolls down pant leg <Fellith_Dranor> Why were we all marked yet you were not? <Narris> "...." <vinny_greybeard> "let's see your mark ljkela." <WEstabos> "Wait Kelwyn, he is a paladin, and he was the first one to be struck " <Fellith_Dranor> Struck perhaps yes i will agree, but we were all under attack and all but one was left branded from it. <WEstabos> "Well him being branded or not does nothing for us" WEstabos Looks at old woman <WEstabos> "Are you alright ?" Fellith_Dranor His eyes linger over Ijekla for a moment longer, not sure if he can trust him completly right now and then he looks over to the old woman. <Khallhadras> As your senses come back full swing you feel slightly enervated but the feeling slowly resides. With full composure restored you all glance at the old women. Her left hand is now outstretched, and in that limp hand is a tiny bead, a bead the same color as the marks on your forms and the malign light. The old women still has a look of deep loss and unknowingness hanging in her eyes. Fellith_Dranor Takes a step towards to old lady and then stops not sure if he should get any closer to her. Khallhadras Her skin has made a conversion from the lively and old tan you know her by, to the palor she took on earlier, and now to an icey stone grey, her body seeming as stiff as her coloration. <WEstabos> "Careful everyone" <Fellith_Dranor> "What's happening to her?" WEstabos Creeps toward old woman WEstabos Keeps Spear outstretched in front of him vinny_greybeard steps up to woman and slaps the back of her hand to get rid of red bead. Fellith_Dranor Takes another step towrds the woman but keeps his ddistance while the others check her out. Narris uses detect evil Khallhadras The limp hand is unmoving but the orc's sheer strength forces her hand into action. A dull crack can be heard as if snapping bones, and the bead falls to the floor, slowly rolling over to the remains of the cottage door, now bent and incongrous with it's frame... <vinny_greybeard> to woman "you still with us?" Fellith_Dranor Walks over and slowy picks up the bead, part of him almsot expecting to catch on fire or some other similar bad thing. <Khallhadras> (With which hand do you pick up the bead?) <Fellith_Dranor> (oh lord, prob out of habit my right hand) Khallhadras As Kelwyn retrieves the bead his mark is limned in a dull red outline, his right hand engulfed by the eerie light Fellith_Dranor Sighs and lifts his hand up to let the others see. <Fellith_Dranor> "If i were a cat my curiousity would have caught up to me a long time ago." Drago315 has entered the room (hostname: XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX) <vinny_greybeard> "drop that damned thing" Fellith_Dranor Drops the bead and shakes his head, not sure what he was thinking. Fellith_Dranor Stops and has this look on his face like he just relized something. He then bends down and picks up the bead again and starts concentrating on it. Khallhadras Quit (Connection reset by peer (TCP/IP connection broken)) Khallhadras has joined Labyrinth (hostname: XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX) Fellith_Dranor Stands back up and clutches the bead in his fist and sways a little with his eyes closed as if he listening to something from far away. <Khallhadras> (Will save fell) <taur> Fellith_Dranor rolled [1d20+2] : 20 + 2 = 22. <taur> vinny_greybeard rolled [d20] : 8 |
| Khallhadras12-01-07, 08:48 PM | Although we were too late to catch all the fighting text I have to approve of this. Thank you again Narris for saving me from a sleepless night of remembrance and writing in order to recover every fine detail of the campaign. :) I tell player-specefic details to players via p2p chat in case this whole prose looks odd. |
| Khallhadras12-01-07, 10:27 PM | Now that I actually read this I realize this would not only make all the more sense but would look so much more interesting and complete with p2p transcripts. Ah well, at least I will never have to worry about forgetting those fine details that are easy to miss within the context and excitement of our game. |

She seems sincere and concerned, and very worried about the injured peasents <Khallhadras> 610 exp for you <Khallhadras> She still seems as kindly and sincere as she was back at the clearing <Khallhadras> There is an overflowing sense of evil here, so perforated is the air with evil that you feel as if you are drowning in a deluge of humanity's most twisted and ill-intended emotions <Khallhadras> Your throat feels as if an invisibly hand is constricting the air flow, a tight and unrelenting grip <Khallhadras> invisible* <Khallhadras> You might want to rp this <Khallhadras> O well, strangulation will only kill you in 4 more rounds <Khallhadras> The grasp gets firmer and you start to feel a set in of nausea <Khallhadras> Another fort save <Khallhadras> You feel a sudden relief followed by a gale of the very same horrible feelings you fealt before, a relieving of hellish proportions <Khallhadras> reliving* <Khallhadras> The first thing you look to is the door. It is torn off one of it's hinges and the frame is bent along with the door itself, bent inwards as a testimony to reality of the forces trying to gain entry moments ago <Khallhadras> You also notice Kelwyn...stylized upon his hand is a red dog, a ferine and twisted visage to look upon that brings a pain of fear by merely glancing at it <Khallhadras> <Khallhadras> It feels as if a hot poker is prodding your right shoulder Narris ignores it <Khallhadras> So long as I don't have time to sleep =P <Khallhadras> Have*! <Khallhadras> You took a 20..so <Khallhadras> In the study you find a grating under an exceedingly dusty old rug <Khallhadras> And a handle on this grating as well, as if some basement or storage area <Khallhadras> You sense no evil within the earth's cold grip, but you do sense a guardian force, as if something set deep within this corridor to protect the unknown <Narris> If anything pings, it means it's evil <Khallhadras> I am merely adding flavor text as a bonus because I have a much broader view of magic then what the rules state <Khallhadras> Perhaps whatever is guarding the corridor's contents are evil, or maybe there is no such guardian but another spell countering yours, you will have to wait and find out =) <Khallhadras> 210 exp |
