The Continents: The world of Laminasia is divided into 3 Super-Continents, Boradia, Arcadia, and Shargun.

Boradia: "Birthed By Gods. Guided by Man."

Boradia is a Theocratic Monarchy, headed by King Arnus. Arnus the Light-Hammer, as he was known in his youth, is a Paladin of the Holy Order. He ascended to the throne in the year 1000 D.R. (D.R. = Divine Return or when the Gods returned to Laminasia and made their presence known). His father, Borten the Dark, was a cruel tyrant who conquered the entirety of Boradia and enforced his heavy handed rule over all.

His son, guided by divine inspiration, launched a successful Coup and replaced his father on the throne. The young man, grew into a fine leader and until the time of the war, brought upon a virtual golden age to the land.

Boradia is dotted with 3 major cities known only as North, South, and West city. East city is now a ruin and has been uninhabited for at least 100 years.

There are of course many smaller cities and villages throughout the land, but most of the larger settlements are along the easter coast where there is plentiful food and many natural resources. The interior of the Boradian continent is largely unexplored.

Arcadia: "Do as we say, for we are your betters."

The Arcadian Oligarchy is known throughout Laminasia as "The Tarnished Emerald" and it is Boradia's chief rival in exports and in military exploits. Where Boradia's chief inhabitants are Dwarf, and Humans, Arcadia is rife with Elven refugees embittered over their status as outcasts from Boradia and Shargun. They are joined by the mostly neutral but underhand Halflings, and the Gnome Terrorist Movement. This combination of angry, violent, outcasts has somehow managed to form a government based on the military and mercantile status where those with money or influence form the elite upper class and the rest are mere pawns.

Arcadia's chief exports are metals, weapons, and soldiers. The large chain of volcanic mountains in the north-west of the continent are a strong defense from the Bordians to the north and the large man-made coral reef to the east guards against Shargun Marauders and their ships.

The current Exalt (the de facto ruler of Arcadia) is a fiercly religious Gnome terrorist by the name of Maximus the Unyielding, and his policy of sowing terror throughout the land, has raised the flags of war in Boradia and to some extent in the tribes of Shargun.

Shargun: "We are the unknown. Fear us."

Shargun is a land shrouded in mystery and few know much about it. It is the home to all manner of strange creatures and half-breeds, as well as to savage tribes of Humans, Dwarves, Gnomes, and Halflings. Shargun is a fetid jungle filled with ferocious beasts, strange spirits, and unknown treasures.

The most visible aspect of the Shar culture is the Marauder fleet. This group of savage soldiers, works a campaign of guerilla warfare against the Arcadian fleet and wreaks havoc with their supply lines. This is their only tangible contribution to the war effort, since the continent has the least amount of residents than the others and they have no centralized goverment.

As mentioned, Shargun has no main goverment ruling over the entire continent. Instead there is a network of tribal chieftains and shamans, who are part of a loose ruling council called "The Web". This group is more advisory than legislative and many of their meetings are information gathering sessions above all else.

Praius: "All light is my domain. Let darkness cower."

Lawful Good Intermediate Deity
Portfolio: Good, Light, Paladins, Mercy, Charity
Domains: Law, Good, Protection, Strength, War

Praius is know as the Light Lord and the Holy Avenger. Though he is the youngest of the Gods, he has risen in status since the young Dwarf King of Boradia has instituted his worship as the national standard.

Praius represents the classical virtues of the Paladin and the Templar. His servants often give charity to those less fortunate, and his warriors and clerics are always on the front line when fighting the forces of evil.

Belaina: "There is a law to all that is natural. My law."

Lawful Neutral Greater Deity
Portfolio: Natural Law, The Circle of Life, Balance, Death
Domains: Law, Animal, Plant, Death

Belaina is known as the Den Mother, the Storm Lady, and the Great Mother. She is the eldest female of the Gods, and mother to Praius and Sheiliana. She is the patron of nature and it's undeniable law, and her clerics are somber preachers of how nature is inevitable. Her doctrines include respect and acceptance of death as a natural ending to life.

Belaina hates all undead and her clerics will go out of their way to destroy any undead they come across along with those who raise them. Belaina and Praius' father are estranged and since his worship is no longer active, his name is forgotten.

Nesthro: "There is no rule but my own, and no fear but fear of my wrath."

Lawful Evil Intermediate Deity
Portfolio: Honorable Evil, Secrets, Dictatorship
Domains: Law, Evil, Protection, Trickery

Nesthro is a mystery to the Gods of Laminasia and to his worshippers as well. Nesthro appeared in the celestial domain 20 years ago from the unknown reaches of space and set himself up as a God of honorable bandits and serial killers. His clerics are often Rogues and Fighters who have taken up his cause. His most well known servants are an order of Monks who has recently joined up with the Arcadian war effort. No one knows why these unarmed masters of combat have joined with such an undisciplined nation but time may reveal more.

Sirrion: "Fear not flame, for all things must change."

Chaotic Neutral Greater Deity
Portfolio: Fire, Transformation, Art, Alchemy
Domains: Chaos, Fire, Knowledge

Sirrion, also known as the Flowing Flame, the Alchemist, and the Firemaster, represents the godly force of transformation. He promotes the soul to give in to passion and creativity to grow and change. He represents fire, because it is the element that brings change and growth, and it represents the creativity of artists and alchemists. Sirrion is chaotic, but does not condone random destruction; instead, change should produce something new. He is the patron of art and alchemy.

Gilean: "Knowledge and balance, these are the most important."

True Neutral Greater Deity
Portfolio: Neutrality, Knowledge, Balance
Domains: Knowledge, Travel, Magic

Gilean, also known as the Book, the Sage, and the Gray Voyager, represents the godly force of knowledge. He supports the growth of the soul through attaining knowledge and experience. He is the holder of the Tobril, which contains the divine plan of the High God for the world. He is the patron of sages, librarians, and scholars. He supports free will and individual choice for all individuals of Laminasia. Gilean is a mediator between the Gods of Law and Chaos, siding against the faction that threatens the Balance. All of the Gods of Neutrality look to him for help and advice, and the Gods of Law often do the same in hopes he will side with them. The Gods of Chaos manipulate situations to present Gilean with a case where he can only side with them. His celestial symbol is the constellation Book of Souls.

Shalazaar: "I care not for your morals. I have my own and that is what matters."

Neutral Evil Lesser Deity
Portfolio: Greed, Avarice, Money-lending
Domains: Evil, Trickery, Luck

Shalazaar is the most hated deity in the realm, and also the one most supplicated to. He is the God of money lending and of greed. He deals in all things economic and many of his worshippers are bankers and merchants who want to succeed by all means. His clerics are often mathematical geniuses who work their magic to swindle, con, and trick people into parting with their money.

Shalazaar was once a Good deity, but a failed attempt to reach a greater status embittered him against everyone and he reemerged from a century long solitude as a selfish evil god.

Krenshaw: "All your base are belong to us."

Chaotic Neutral Intermediate Deity
Portfolio: Randomness, Berserkers, Insanity
Domains: Chaos, Destruction, War

Krenshaw is known as the Mad Lord of War, and the Chaos Beast. He is a strange fellow who delights in causing mayhem and chaos wherever he goes. He, more than any other god walks the earth in mortal guise. He often takes the form of an old jester who offers treats with one hand and tricks with the other. Only recently with the continuing war has Krenshaw taken a more violent bent and supported the continuation of violence. He often joins his forces on the battle field killing indiscrimantly.

Sheiliana: "Delight in the ever-changing face of nature."

Chaotic Good Lesser Deity
Portfolio: Fertility, Wild Nature, Sex, Dance
Domains: Chaos, Animal, Plant, Charm, Sun, Good

Sheiliana is the younger sister of Praius and daughter of Belaina. She is known as the Green Dancer, the Fertile Maiden, and in her chaotic aspect the Whirlwind. She represents all that is chaotic and changing in the realm of nature, often times clashing with her mother's rigid view of nature. Sheiliana is also the the goddess representing reproduction and to a lesser extent the joys of fertility. Her clerics worship through wild parties in the forest where wine and good food are passed around and where people take partners for the night in worship of their lady. Children born from these "Midnight Masses" are considered lucky and are often put into the service of the Green Lady.

Morgal: "I am the deadly wind. There is no telling which way my death will spread."

Chaotic Evil Greater Deity
Portfolio: Death, Chaos, War, Necromancy
Domains: Chaos, Evil, Magic, Destruction

Morgal is known as the Killing Wind, the Dread Mage, and the Undead Master. He is the chief competitor for dominion of the pantheon and he hopes to tip the scales of balance in favor of chaos and evil. He is of course a great schemer and he often twist words to convince the neutral Gods to side with him, but he fails as often as he succeeds. His clerics are soldiers and killers, and they worship by entering conflict on the side of those who are most evil and chaotic.

Morgal openly proclaims his support for Arcadia and focuses his efforts to propagate violence and war crimes. His clerics have set up temples on blood-soaked battlefield, and they frequently raid Praius' Temples for slaves and supplies. Morgal also tries to woo the now unattached Belaina and has had little success with the proud Goddess.

So what do you guys think? I'm about to run a group through a campaign in this world and I'm looking for opinions on what else I can add to it.

The world is currently in a state of war between Boradia & Shargun on one side, and Arcadia on the other.

There is a higher level of technology in Boradia, more arcane magic in Arcadia, and more divine in Shargun.

Any thoughts? :D

Is there only one deity per AL, or are those just the ones you have so far? You describe a single government for each supercontinent; why is each so unified? Are you using the standard races? Looks good so far; just curious about the above.

Those are just the main ones that I've made (and borrowed). I'll probably make up more as the campaign progresses.

The government of Boradia is unified by faith and because of the fact that the King freed them from an iron fisted rule.

Arcadia isn't so much unified, but divided into rigid spheres of influence. The only reason they don't all kill each other is their common hate of the Boradians and by extension the Shargun.

Shargun is the lest unified since they only have the Web and they are mostly a group of influencial people who get together to talk and discuss what's going. Maybe in several hundred years they'll evolve into a parliamentary government but tribal pride is putting that off for now.

And I'm using the standard races + Monstrous races from Shargun.

If you need some minor deities, you might consider looking at the list on http://www.eruvian.com/deity_search.asp (some of them I've even made myself). Most are linked to other people's settings, but a few (the ones listed as in The Repository) are not.

Is Praius the only god worshipped in Boradia, or just the central one?

Sounds cool; I look forward to seeing more.

Praius is mainly worshipped by the Humans and Dwarves in Boradia. The Gnome's chief deity is the following one:

Brill Luster-Shine "My light may be small but I carry it with pride."

Chaotic Good Lesser Deity
Portfolio: Gnomes, Martyrdom, Courage
Domains: Chaos, Good, Protection, Courage, Healing

Brill is one of the better known Gnomish deities and is known as the Little Leader, the Defender of the Small, and Great Tinker. He is a close ally of Praius and the two are often featured in myths and tales where Brill is the Paladin's sidekick. Gnomish tales tell a different story though, presenting Brill as a courageous champion who gave his life for his big clumsy friend. This sacrifice, coupled with his devotion to cooperation caused the Gnome to rise into a deific state.

Tall tales or not, Brill is becoming ever popular with civilized Gnomes for his stance as a defender of freedom and champion of the little folk. His clerics often wander the highways healing those with no means to take care of themselves, and defending the physically weak or small from people who would take advantage of them.
