| Agent Graves02-13-07, 11:44 PM | LORDS OF CREATION ~ an experiment in cooperative world building Before the beginning there always was. Then a voice said “I’m bored” and BANG It was there. It sat in the void (since darkness hadn’t been created) and watched as atoms, elements, molecules and small motes of cosmic dust flew by. Thus It grew eyes to watch with and it realised that by was a measurement… and Time and Distance suddenly existed. And, since Time and Distance now existed It grew. And it was curious about the void and reached out moving It’s hand back and forth, causing the flow of atoms, elements, molecules and cosmic dust to swirl around… and thus It grew hands. And amidst the swirling morass the atoms, elements, molecules and cosmic dust coalesced and the universe, galaxy, stars and planets were born. It realised that the stars were hot and bright but the rest of the galaxy was cold and dark… Thus fire, glory, cold and darkness were created. It sat (growing legs and a posterier) and watched. Presently it thought back to when it watched the atoms, elements, molecules and motes of cosmic dust fly by and realised that they were now moving in an organised way at an organised speed. Thus, Chaos and Law were created. It watched… and it became bored since time was so long. So it fashioned two beings out of the atoms, elements, molecules and cosmic dust and into one being It fed Law and into the other, Chaos. And It waited (and created solitaire to pass the time). -- AFTER THE VOID And this is where you come in. You are a god and throughout the creation process you will grow with the growth of the world. You will gain domains, portfolios etc, build the world, create creatures to inhabit the world, interact with each other, the populous and create other gods. GOAL For me this is a bit of fun. And an experiment in world building. There isn't much more than that. WHAT I'D LIKE I’d like this to be a role-play exercise that will help us with world building as well as role-playing. When you do something (make an action) you should post like you are the god. An example of actions as follows; • BUILDING THE WORLD Malfarrow slams his fist into the planet causing the earth to shift and crack. Tectonic plates are created and force mountains to rise above the water, which rushes in and fills the imprint. [thus we have two new mountain ranges around a large body of water which Malfarrow can name] • INTERACTING WITH ANOTHER GOD Sorra (goddess of evil) regards her brother with jealousy. In a fit of rage she suddenly attacks him running him through with her spear. Her brother, though mortally wounded attacks back, slamming his mace into the right side of her face. [Sorra gains the domain Fury and a nasty scar, while her brother gains Retribtuion and probably dies- maybe causing two lesser gods to rise out of his ashes, or falls to the planet...] • POPULATING THE WORLD Abgaul reaches out with this knarled hands and fashions a creature out of the earth [Abgaul creates dwarves and gains Dwarf Domain] and gives them a mountain range to live in. • CREATING ANOTHER GOD Abgaul creates another goddess to take the dwarf domain away from him. [a spot is open for a god, She will start with the domain Dwarf, Abgaul loses the dwarf domain and is able to acquire another later on] • INTERACTING WITH THE POPULOUS Abgaul urges his dwarves to make war on the elves to the south [Abgaul gains the War domain and probably an enemy in atleast one of the Elven gods] In the first few posts I’ll be updating the history of the world, universe and everything- I’ll be making notes and a diagram and a map and editing them as the world grows. Actions are really only limited by your descriptivness (and action points). TIME There will be three years in the creation process; each year is made up of 13 months. In essence there will be 39 turns. It seems a lot, but each god will have a certain number of action points allocated to him or her per month... and the planetry years will run quicker than the celestial. We’ll be building in turns: • Year one will be planet building • Year two will be populating the planet & growing it • Year three will be growing it some more By the end of year two the populous should be at the basic d&d tech level and will remain there for the rest of year three. ACTIONS Every turn you gain a certain number of action points which relates to your rank as a god. The points can be saved until next turn to perform actions that cost more than you are allocated. • Variable point cost gain class level (1 per class level) • 1 point cost teach populous, nourish populous, nourish land, mold land • 2 point cost create populous, create land, guide populous, create portal • 3 point cost Attack another god, Begat god (requires another god or mortal of opposite sex), Create Avatar (to walk the planet), Create Plane (maybe as home or resource center), Evolve Physically (extra hands means extra action point), Gain Extra domain slot, Create concept (like positivity- but it would be good if it related to a domain. More than one concept can be related to any single domain) • 4 point cost Create god YOUR TURN If it is your turn you write it up like this; AbSaul-rote crushes the hills with a sweep of his hand and causes fields of long, pale grass to grow. He names the Savanahs the Golden Steppes. He then takes a portion of the night and fashions a figure out of the darkness. [mold land, nourish land, create god] 1+1+4 If you want to save action points until next turn; [mold land, create god] 1+4 [1 point remaining] BUILDING THE LORDS OF CREATION When you start out, when you are created- (either by being created by a god greater than you, being the child of a mortal and a god (or god and god) or being the by-product of a dead god) you start at the lowest point in your divine rank. From there you can use action points to grow yourself as well as the world. Supreme: > Div Rank: 21+ > Max Class lvl: 50 > Domains: 3/9 > Base Action Pts: 6 Greater: > Div Rank: 16-20 >Max Class lvl: 48 > Domains: 2/7 > Base Action Pts: 5 Intermediate: > Div Rank: 11-15 > Max Class lvl: 41 > Domains: 2/5> Base Action Pts: 4 Lesser: > Div Rank: 6-10 > Max Class lvl: 34 > Domains: 1/4 > Base Action Pts: 3 Demi: > Div Rank: 1-5 > Max Class lvl: 29 > Domains: 1/3 > Base Action Pts: 2 Heroic deity > Div Rank: 0 > Max Class lvl: 25 > Domains 0 > Base Action Pts: 1 APPLYING FOR THE JOB OF GOD As with all jobs, what precedes the application of said job is an advertisment. So, before you post a god please check the bottom of this post- you will see two things; the job on offer and a list of people waiting. Usually the people on the list will be offered the job before you although they can pass on the job in hopes of another. If you'd like to join the waiting list pm or post. When you apply for the job you will need to pick a name, a symbol, the minimum number of classes for your divine rank and what you look like. Your race is either dictated by the god who created you or by you in the application (which means that you'll be attempting to create that race). (Typically have a plan as to where you'd like to be at the end of the three years- you don't need to tell me though.) Your first domain (primary domain) will come with the job. Infact the job will revolve around the domain. eg; if you apply for a job and the domain on offer is Darkness, your god is most likely going to be made out of the darkness or is the god of the night or the god of darkness. More information about domains below. When a spot opens up the god who opened the spot has the power to invite you or accept an application. When you apply I don't want a fully stated out god. No HD or skills etc. Most of it is fluff, the only real crunch is what I've written in this post. Please use the template below: (DR=Divine Rank) NAME: Absaul-rote [DR:50] Supreme Deity, Bard35/Monk15 Symbol: Home: Void Alignment: Neutral Domains: Creation, Time, Fire, Sun, Cold, Darkness Portfolio: Worshipers: Favored Weapon:Quill (longsword) Avatar: Travelling Storyteller Brief discription: AbSaul-Rote created the earth out of curiosity. He is a storyteller at heart and enjoys creating fables, poems, sonnets and novels. If he visits the earth he can be found travelling from town to town telling stories for a meal, collecting verses for poems and searching for folklore. He'll usually take the guise of a man dressed in patchwork travellers clothes, a lute slung over his shoulder, a larger tome of stories hanging at his side, a smaller ink stained book in his hand with a quill sticking out, marking his spot. His hair is grey, covered by a wide brimmed hat and he puffs on his long stemmed pipe as he tells his tales. DOMAINS (domain list on wotc boards (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=772151)) Almost all domains are open for acquisition, all monsters, races and planes are open for creation. That being said no referencing BOVD. Domains are acquired through the actions you take. For example, if you attack another god out of fury, you'll gain fury. If you give the earth an atmosphere, you'll gain air. If you nourish the earth repeatedly you'll gain plant There are two types of domains: Primary and secondary. Primary domains are you very first domain, they are what you embody. They can not be lost or passed on (when creating a new god) but they can be copied. Secondary domains are every other domain you acquire. They can be passed on when you create a new god. i.e AbSaul-rote creates the goddess of plants- she recieves plant as her first domain. She (Chloro) also acquires Sun, Renewel and Water along the way. These last three domains she can be passed on to another god when she creates him/her. She will lose the domain she passes on but the gains the option to ad another domain. Chloro then creates a god of water, Akaal. He recieves the domain, Water, as his primary domain. Chloro loses the domain of water but that spot that water held is now open for her to fill. Chloro decides to create another god. She wants to create a god of Jungles. She can give the god of Jungles the plant domain, but she will not lose plants since it is her primary domain. If you make an action and are awarded a domain. You cannot reject said domain if you don't want it. But you can create a god next turn and pass the unwanted domain onto them. If you don't have any domain slots left a new god is created then and there. POWER OF THE SUPREME the position of the supreme god is currently filled... though if a god had the kahunas (or whatever a female goddes equivalent) i'm sure they can make a bid for it. But, the greatest power is the power to veto. Though i don't want to use it my aim is to finish the build. (thats three years people). So if a god points his finger and says; "earth, you go bang now" I'll probably take offense and hit you really hard in the back of the head. Thus you will be out and someone else can take your, though you will have a lasting impression in the history of the world. APPLICANTS I've had a bit of interest (yay!) so i'll make a list of those people who wish to wait for an opening. When a god is available you'll get the chance to join. There is not set limit to the number of gods that can be created- but i'm sure there is a caveat in there. I encourage the creation of gods, but, remember that you can only create a god that has a lower divine rank than you. Cheers guys Waiting list; > DemonDavyJones > *Truean* > EffigyOfFaith > Johnny_Ange > Return of the Flumph > Illeveun Bloodblaze > Warmonger856 > Omegafrost > Destrieth > jamvid > Iyestorm > Ivellius JOBS ON OFFER |

| Agent Graves02-13-07, 11:47 PM | The Storyteller regarded the new gods with interest, his curious eyes drinking in the beings that embodied Law and Chaos. The god of Law appeared as a wizend old soldier, his battle scars revealing more than just experience but a knowledge. A knowledge of the path that all soldiers must take, a path that is inevitable, a path that is unswerving, a path that everyone is fated to take. A Path that even the Storyteller must oneday take. Chaos, on the other hand was... the Storyteller paused. He squinted making out the head of a panther and the body of a man. Chaos... chaos had not rules, no laws. Chaos laughed in the face of fate, laughed in the face of destiny. Chaos had a path that was forever winding, no beginning in sight, no ending in sight. Whereas Law was the end of Battle, Chaos was the midst of Battle. Chaos was the blood, the flecks of foam on the flanks of horses, the heat, the anger, the fury. Chaos was the clashing of steel on steel, the roar of triumph, the wail of sorrow and the silence of orders unheard. The Storyteller regarded the new gods with a mixture of reverence and fear... He reached out and with a sweep of his hand, the Storyteller took a handful of atoms, elements, molecules and cosmic dust clasping his hands together, shutting his eyes he furrowed his brow. Beads of sweat appeared as he bowed his head in concentration. The storyteller gritted his teeth, the muscles in his cheeks and jaw stood out, a single vein in his forhead became pronounced and he grunted with exertion. His hands did not glow, there was not deafening noise, no sudden explosions... The storyteller looked up and, raising a single palm, presented a planet, barren, lifeless, empty... but fit for the gods to build upon. No Sooner had the Storyteller presented the rocky globe floating on his outstretched palm than the God of Chaos took his mighty axe and smote a great tract of earth, in the dead center of the newborn world. The dust and rock crumbled under the mighty blow, driving a chasm that reached to the heart of the world. The storyteller watched with wide, unblinking eyes as the world was split. Ha drew in his breathe, inticipating a breaking of the world... He thought; Surely Ahuizotl will foever be known as He who cleaved the world in two. The storyteller breathed out with relief seeing that the great chasm did not sunder the earth completely- and his breath flooded the world with air, the moisture in his breath causing the barren, dry rock to become humid. All at once the fires that did not burn became enraged; the sudden rush of air caused mountains to explode and spewing forth lava and smoking ash. From the sundered earth a roar thundered, the fire glowed a hand rose up from under the earth and hauled itself onto the land. Molten earth flowed up the ravine and added to the mass of the hand, forming an arm, a torso, a head, a second arm, legs and a robe. The outside quickly cooled to a dull brown, but inside the fire burned still. He opened is furnace mouth and roared as the earth that had sired him had done and with his first word spoke his name; KUUURR-HAH! Seeing the glowing furnace of his new mountains burn brightly, Ahuizotl smiled. Yet, watching the shimmering heat and choking ash drifting in the air, he decided the new world would need more variety. From the dust at the base of the mountains, the God willed forth a sudden upshoot of saplings and shrubs, willing vine and branch to grow in seconds, until a dense ring of jungle surrounded the smoking mountains. Ahuizotl was pleased. This deep, brooding jungle and its titanic trees provided much shade and respite from the heat. Where once the ground had been dry as old bones, it was now moist and succulent, and with a wave of his hand the diety conjured forth a chain of rivers to flow amongst his trees, cooling the jungle and causing perspiration to dance in the air. Amon pricked his finger, and his blood filled the planet. After the blood dried, the land was seething with powerful magical energy. His blood had lingered there, indestructible, a valuable resource, the very essence of what would later become normal magic. The Essence, the energy that came after the blood dried, would be a source of power which allows mortal priests to channel the power of the gods. Thus, Amon gained power over all Good or Lawful Magic. Kur-ah looked around and heard the voices of the other gods. They spoke, and in his oldest memories, from before he was him, from when he was nothing, he recalled the power of those first words. "Krukar!" He roared. But his voice was nothing but the roar of fire and the crash of stone. It was a voice, there was language, but it was not such as he could be understood. The fire in his soul screamed in anger and the earth felt the rage. How could he understand those thing unsaid? He reached out and burnt a line on a rock. This was, to him, the casm. Would it be so to others? He refined his pictures, and made words. Words without sound. A way to be heard with no voice. Words to outlive the speaker! Words to be read in ages to come!! WORDS!!! KREAAAGH!!!! The birth of a new godling was not hidden from Ahuizotl. Indeed, he watched and sneered. How dare this interloper break upon his domain? When he was not even done sculpting it! Yet the time was not yet given to punish such interferance. After all, a battle could destroy the work already accomplished. Instead, Ahuizotl resolved to retreat--and so He Who Cleaved The Earth in Two hefted his axe again, this time turning his fury upon the velvet dome of the twilit sky. With a snarl, he tore open a slit like a cat's eye in the membrane between worlds. Pearl white filled the gap, as the light of stars flooded the heavens. Leaping into the sky, Ahuizotl pulled his body through the gap, having made a great heavenbound portal to the burning realm beyond the sky. Such ferocity, such violent creation. The storyteller's eyes were wide with astonishment, his ears full of the fury fire, the cracking of the earth... then, with a what seemed like a sudden sun shower in the middle of a foundry, a laughter cooled the heat in his ears, the light in his eyes. A playful laughter, heard along the edge of the nameless river winding through the great jungle. He sought out the source, instead seeing only a flash of silver darting among the rocks and waterfalls. A being is born from the breathe of the storyteller. Rising out of the greatest of the new rivers, Arteheyn stepped forth onto the dry land . She looked about herself; The cool shade beneath the trees much to her liking, the beautiful green plants, the bubbling river all reflecting her playfulness. Still she was lonely. So Arteheyn sat beside the river and gazed at her reflection in the water. A beautiful face framed by dark tresses stares back at her sadly. If only she had playmates, she thought. She knelt beside the river banks and fashioned toys from the clay, one shaped like a broad leaf. She floated it down a stream, watching it as it shimmered and changed; growing silvery scales and gills. Delighted she molded other living creatures for the earth around her. Turtles, lizards, deer, bears and fish; they spread out to cover the new world. As Arteheyn spread life the jungle around her, a smallest of areas, began to change. The trees around her grew smaller, bushes sprouted where she walked. The changing plants grew seeds that were larger, plumper, darker... the trees and bushes began to bear fruit. Arteheyn laughed at the fruit that was good to eat and, at the edges of her garden, she caused great thorny walls to grow and set the harshest of animals to guard the trees, keeping out those that would plunder the land. The world was beginning to take shape, albeit slowly. The storyteller watched on as the newely created gods followed their own paths, a necessary side-affect of creation... but also a curious one. Even their forms were more than he could imagined. The storyteller began writing it all down, their names, their actions... in a book bound in the void itself. The pages made from the motes of cosmic dust, his quill a shaft of frozen light. He took a moment to consider the god that had bound himself to the universe. Morintu. Could this, Morintu, really have been created from my breathe? The storyteller wondered at the being with a body of a lion, the head and tail of a snake, hands like his and wings like an eagle. But what caused the Storyteller the greatest fear was the scar on the earth. The chasm that swallowed light itself. He gazed into the scar, his eyes sought knowledge of the abyss... and he recoiled. Fearing what was in the abyss he cried- his tears falling to the earth, covering the lowest plateaus, cutting off landmasses, turning mountains into islands... but not filling the scar. |

Just about. But if you are applying, you'll have to take the Chaos Domain as first one- your alignment will be Chaotic, and your first domain is Chaos, the second is battle. Also, at the moment home is Void since other homes suitable for a god haven't been created. I really like your avatar though, very cool. If you are happy with that we can begin. Janusunaj: cool, good name. Also, i when i have a chance i'll put up the celestial familiy tree. If you have a head shot (try one of the pc portraits wotc have on their site or find one online) i'll add it to the diagram and put it up. |

If you think i havn't explained something properly, of could explain it better then let me know and we can work it out. I've also started an applicants list in the first post. The order which i was shown interest is the order in which you can join... Once you are a god i'll take you off the list. |

The planet, while worthy for the gods to build upon has no resources; air and water etc- basic building blocks. You could create beings and put them on the planet but they'd probably die pretty quickly- you could ignore the planet and build a plane for yourself to live upon. You can do pretty much anything (expect choose another planet to build upon). Just remember how many action points you have. Janusunaj takes his turn first, then PiedmonSama. Then i'll start the second turn. |
| Janusunaj02-14-07, 05:17 PM | Amon decided that without some kind of Source of well being for societies, living creatures and the things which are known as love, life would be a living hell for them. So before he even began nurturing the barren rock, he would begin to create an energy which later generations would fight and die for, noble thought, and the will to do positively. |

Cool, so what exactly are you creating? and what domain does it relate to? i dont think there is a positive energy domain, though if you are creating positive energy what domain represents it? Also, Can you ad a line underneath sumarising what you've made? eg. [create concept, action, another action] 3+?+? I've also updated the first post with another create action and information regarding actions |

| DemonDavyJones02-14-07, 08:55 PM | Hooray! I'll might be able to post a character sometime tonight, but if not I'll have one tommorow morning. Happy fighting over tiny mortals in the meantime! |

By all means, create a god. But don't post it yet. you'll need to wait until there is an opening for you, and you'll need to accept the domain that comes with the opening. |

| PiedmonSama02-15-07, 12:12 AM | Upon the expanse of dark and dune-colored earth, night-black Ahuizotl watched and stroked his jaws in contemplation. What to do with this barren, boring plane? To start, the God of Chaos hefted his mighty axe and smote a great tract of earth, in the dead center of the newborn world. The dust and rock crumbled under the mighty blow, driving a chasm that reached to the heart of the world. From this pit spewed lava and magma out of the world's burning heart, and ash belched into the sky as the land reformed into crumbling, broken peaks. (Hopefully this is alright--I just had Ahuizotl carve out a volcanic mountain chain along the middle of the map. I was thinking it runs vertical from 20-24 to 20-20, but I guess that's up to you?) |

| Janusunaj02-15-07, 11:55 AM | Amon pricked his finger, and his blood filled the planet. (Create a divine Weave like source of energy for mortal divine magic. | PiedmonSama02-15-07, 12:45 PM | (Not technically your turn yet, Janus, but what the hey. I have just one more action to take, then I'll hold my remaining two points in reserve.) Seeing the glowing furnace of his new mountains burn brightly, Ahuizotl smiled. (I'll leave it up to you how big the jungle is, but I was thinking just a ring around the mountains 1-2 squares wide). |
| Agent Graves02-15-07, 04:53 PM | Janus is a little eager- i'll re-arrange the posts here and we can continue. Seeing the glowing furnace of his new mountains burn brightly, Ahuizotl smiled. Allright- PiedmonSama, i reckon you've used all your action points for the turn. I'm going to interject between cleaving the world and air being present with; "The storyteller watched with wide, unblinking eyes as the world was split. All at once the fires that did not burn became enraged; the sudden rush of air caused mountains to explode and spewing forth lava and smoking ash..." PiedmonSama, i'll update Ahuizotl with the domain of plants. Also, these domains are open. I will be pm-ing the waiting list and you can choose from the following domains. Air and Water (from the Storytellers breath), fire (the volcanic mountain range) Thus Ends the first Month. Month two begins with Amon; Amon pricked his finger, and his blood filled the planet. After the blood dried, the land was seething with powerful magical energy. His blood had lingered there, indestructible, a valuable resource, the very essence of what would later become normal magic. Though i'm not sure if he should recieve a domain- i was tempted to award magic, but you said divine not arcane... Very nice flavour though. It is PiedmonSama's turn again. After that three new gods will take turns. Then i will start the third month. |
| Agent Graves02-16-07, 07:13 PM | In the interest of keeping things moving i've asked a few of the guys on the top of the waiting list to take their turns. So, ewancummins and Evil DM Mk3, yu can post your deities and take their first turns. PiedmonSama and riverrock can take their turns when they're online. |
| Evil DM Mk302-16-07, 08:30 PM | Kur-ah [DvR 16] Greater Deity, Druid 20/Wizard (Diviner) 20 Symbol: A heart of molten stone Home: Void Alignment: True Neutral Domains: Fire (Primary) Earth Portfolio: Fire, Magma, Earth Worshipers: Druids Favored Weapon: "The Rock and The Flame" Dire Flail, one stone head, one burning head. Avatar: The shape of an elderly man with beard and wearing robes but made out of stone. His mouth and eyes glow with the intence fire that is the heart of the world. As the dust settled there was a roar from the casm in the earth. The fire glowed and, after a time, a hand rose up from under the earth and hauled itself onto the land. Molten earth flowed up the ravine and added to the mass of the hand, forming an arm, a torso, a head, a second arm, legs and a robe. The outside quickly cooled to a dull brown, but inside the fire burned still. He opened is furnace mouth and roared as the earth that had sired him had done. "KUUURR-HAH!" |
| Evil DM Mk302-16-07, 08:53 PM | First can I check, do we have a sun or moon? Just asking. Create concept, Records/writing. Domain-Rune. Then he turned to the still barren lands flat and featureless. He pulled his fire below up, forcing his earth outside up, up higher, higher! He created a peak of height unimaginable and burnt the land around, dry and parched. Mold earth (twice) High mountain(1) (with snow peak) at j9 surounded by desert(2). |

Good work, currently the earth has no moon or sun... though there are stars in the sky. |
| PiedmonSama02-17-07, 03:32 AM | The birth of a new godling was not hidden from Ahuizotl. (Pausing here because if raising up a jungle was enough to merit two action points, then I have to guess creating the moon would use up all four?) |
| ewancummins02-17-07, 09:24 AM | Arteheyn , the River Maiden [DvR 16] Greater Deity, Druid 20 Cleric 20 Symbol : a silver scaled fish, a green snake, or a stylized icon depicting a blue river against a green background[ rectangle crossed by a snaking blue line] Home: Void Alignment:Neutral Domains: Water Portfolio:precipitation , nourishment of living things, rivers Worshipers: farmers, herders , river folk Favored Weapon:The staff of many waters [ a quarterstaff ] Avatar: She appears as a fair young woman, clad in simple garb of blue or green. She is barefoot, and leaves watery tracks behind herself. Her silvery hair flows as if she were floating in a stream. A playful laughter can be heard along the edge of the nameless river winding through the great jungle. A fash of silver can be seen darting among the rocks and waterfalls. A new being is born into the world, and explores its surroundings with all the enthusiasm of the very young. Rising out of the greatest of the new rivers, Arteheyn steps forth onto the dry land . She looks about herself. The cool shade beneath the trees is much to her liking. The beautiful green plants , also. Still it seems lonely. She sits beside the river and gazes at her reflection in the water. A beautiful face framed by dark tresses stares back at her sadly. If only she had playmates . She kneels beside the river banks and fashions toys from the clay. One is shaped like a broad leaf. She floats it down a stream. It shimmers and changes, becoming the first fish. Delighted, she molds other living creatures. Turtles, lizards, deer, bears; they spread out to cover the new world. [Create animals! 2 ap ] |
| Agent Graves02-17-07, 05:22 PM | Pausing here because if raising up a jungle was enough to merit two action points, then I have to guess creating the moon would use up all four? Raising a jungle, i think is nourish land- one ap. So, creating a moon... two, plus gain the moon domain. The only action that costs 4 is creating a god. She kneels beside the river banks and fashions toys from the clay. One is shaped like a broad leaf. She floats it down a stream. It shimmers and changes, becoming the first fish. Delighted, she molds other living creatures. Turtles, lizards, deer, bears; they spread out to cover the new world. that certainly warrants the domain animals. Though at the moment the only animals made are those that can inhabit the terrains created; forest, river, desert, mountains.... volcanoe? |
| ewancummins02-17-07, 08:43 PM | that certainly warrants the domain animals. Though at the moment the only animals made are those that can inhabit the terrains created; forest, river, desert, mountains.... volcanoe? Yes. She creates all sorts of reptiles, birds, insects, etc. For now , only those that can live in the existing biomes. More may come later. perhaps other gods will create new environments and new creatutes to dwell therein. But she was the first to fashion animals. |
| ewancummins02-17-07, 09:02 PM | Arteheyn decides to change a small area of jungle. She takes all sorts of fruitful things and arranges them in a new way . She decides to order the pattern and growth of the plants in such a way as to create much that is good to eat. Seeing that this is a new thing, she fences her garden with thorn bushes and sets fierce beasts in it to keep the wild deer from eating all her plantings. The new land is green and lovely, but also ordered and not wild like the jungle . She walks through the garden and smiles to see the plants begin to grow. Now she can enjoy the loveliness and good fruits of this place she has made for herself. [I have corrected this post to reflect my original intent: planting the first garden and creating agriculture. Is this doable for 3 ap? I figure creating animals was only 2, as that's what creating plants [ and gaining Plant domain thereby ] cost Ahuizotl. It's now a SMALL area, not a big fertile region. Just an alteration to what was already there.] |
| Delfedd02-17-07, 09:13 PM | (Sorry for interrupting, But I thought that We weren't allowed to begin Populating the earth with people until year two. That's just what I read in the begining) |
| ewancummins02-17-07, 09:15 PM | [ Whoops! I edited my previous post to fix that.] |

| Return of the Flumph02-18-07, 02:48 AM | Sign me up. |
| Evil DM Mk302-19-07, 04:32 AM | [I guess this would be two actions? nourish land for 1 point and create concept: agriculture for 3 points. Is that right?] Um, how many action points is this in total? My turn yet? Seeing as we are still wating for a deiaty to exist, I doubt it. |
| Agent Graves02-19-07, 04:43 PM | Sorry guys, a combination of time zones and board maintenance has put me behind in the process. Ok, let me work through the questions etc... lets keep the animals that have been created- aslong as there is room for them on earth then its ok. But they are all basic animals, no monsters as of yet. If anyone wants to create monsters go ahead but lets focus more on building... ewancummins, i'm thinking that Arteheyn's new home is earth. A sacred garden or sorts. I think that, since animals and a garden have been created- we'll keep both- that you have used all your ap. PiedmonSama where has Ahuizotl gone too? it seems he has made a new home- is it the moon or somwhere else? Originally Posted by Janusunaj My turn yet? Avatar: A Bipedal, winged Lion with the head of a serpent and hands of a Man. He has a great, whipping serpent's tail. His chains bind him to the universe. He drifts through the world like a dust mote on the wind. The first thing that Morintu knew was illogic. Why Am I Here? What Must I do? He thought. Creating a Pair of eyes and a body, Morintu bound himself to the universe. He was afraid. The chaos made him passing, brief. He used chains to bind himself to the order of the universe. Every atom, Every Star, every planet was bound to him, and he to them. |

| Delfedd02-19-07, 05:42 PM | The God of the Wind intimately knew the currents of the world. He Decided that He needed to do two things. He could use his chains to control more things. Use them to change objects. He also needed to bring in a new idea. Justice. Justice was the thing. The Weilder of the White staff had "order." Order was one thing. Justice was another. Justice means an analysis of the Facts of the situation, and then using them to decide the actions. No "good," no "evil." Just Justice. (Evolve Physically 3 points. Granting me 1 extra point. Create Concept: Justice. Domain: Law 3 points. Hopefully, this would change my alignment to Lawful.) |

| Agent Graves02-19-07, 11:37 PM | The world was beginning to take shape, albeit slowly. He laughed at the creatures created to inhabit the jungles, the waters and the desert. He frowned as the Panther-headed god cut a hole in the sky, creating a celestial body that orbited the earth (and furrowed his brow even more when he noticed the erratic orbit of the moon.) He considered the god, fearful of unexistance, binding himself to the universe and Marveled as another god sought knowledge in the rocks, in the runes. [mold earth] (all AP) |
| PiedmonSama02-20-07, 04:51 PM | (In answer to your question, the moon in this cosmology is simply a passage into a Realm of Light where Ahuizotl currently dwells. He carved it out of the sky, and its "phases" are the graduations of the portal from open (a full moon) to closed (no moon.)) |
| Evil DM Mk302-20-07, 05:23 PM | Kur-ah looked out on the world as it stood. He smiled as he walked off, eger to share what he had created. He had seen some activity around an area of jungle that had become flater and more ordered, intrigued he bent his steps that way. For some reason, despite his youth, his body was sure it was old, his joints where a little stiff and as he moved off he failed to see a tree root and fell over. He got angry, and the fire over-ruled the earth, he spoke in the raw words of fire and directed his cursings towards the inefficent moon. As he moved off downhill he failed to see the spark catch in the sky. The light grew and grew untill it was a raging inferno and reached a tipping point. It exploded into a massive fireball and shone a great, blinding light over the world. And in that light, Kur-ah saw properly for the first time. AND WHAT HE SAW! Create earth- The Sun, in this cosmongy, currently nothing special, earth orbits it, earth rotates, ala real life. Suns going round earths is silly. 2 AP A pain rose in his chest where he knew stones made from the blood of Amon dwelt. He ingored the pain and in stead concentrated on what he SAW. He saw all of the past, and wrote it down, in the cracks in stones, the flicker of flames, the flight of the birds, the movment of the stars and the sun and the moon. The words came in a rush and where scattered where only the wisest could read them, but they where there, he kept on writing, absorbed by nothing else but the words as they flowed from his mind, he saw all of the future, not just the one, but all of them, he wrote all of existance into existance, all of the events that could be, all that could not be, and all that would be. At times the future convulsed and all lines where drawn to one point, a birth, a death, a kingdom, a war. Where these lines came from and where they went where not his to know exactly yet for they could be any of a thousand, but these events WOULD occur. He saw the deaths of all gods, at the end he saw a war, a war between the force created by Amon and its oposite, a force he saw was even now movign quietly through the minds of all but was not yet manifest. A war between the light and the dark. The outcomes and causes of this war varied but in each case divinity died, for ever. When this war is to come he cannot tell, for it rellies on myriad other factors, factors that the truly wise and powerful could now see in his writings, but it would be millenia at least. At this point he stumbled and fell down the mountain towards the garden where he came to rest, wracked by the pain of another's force in his heart. He knew he would never forget what he saw, he knew he would not be put throught the experiance again as it would be pointless and knew that others might now use that knowladge as they saw fit, but mostly he knew pain, and was unable to move and did nothing else, slumped between jungle and garden, muttering curses about Amon, the father that had given him life and Ahuizotl, the father that had opened his mother and alowed that life to enter. Create concenpt- Prophecy - domain Oracle. Note, exepting some pivital events (ie some types of DM plot line) the future is not set in stone, but now we have a way for future seeing divination to work that is both well expalined and not 100% reliable. 3AP |

| Evil DM Mk302-20-07, 06:24 PM | A quick OOC note, for any who are intersted in trying (and if you are, it is nice to know you care:) ) the cause of Kur-ah's pain are the stones from Amon's blood. They are also the reason for his divien power and their removeal would kill him...:( I do have an eventual solution in mind, but anyone else can of course try, just don't kill me off by removing the stones, as that would suck. And be anoying. And pointless. Ta. Just passing on info your guys are likely to know intrinsicly if they investigated. |
| Delfedd02-20-07, 07:17 PM | Morintu looked at the world. It was so filled with... With Chaos! It sometimes sickened him to look at it. He needed someplace where he could go, someplace that he could take a respite from these chaotic lands. He needed a place to rest his eyes. His chains where hurting his flesh. A respite was needed. He pulled with his chains, to create another place. Pulling a particle apart, he found the great power within. Using it, he made another realm. He pulled himself into the new land, and looked about. Pure white. It was beautiful. Pure law. But it was a bit quiet. He needed something else. He began creating things. Wind swept through the... the plane. Flicking his serpent's tongue, he tasted the air. Forming the winds together, he decided to make a... a Friend? An ally? He had seen the other gods, but knew that they where illogical. Unsavory. Using the winds, he made a body. Not a Godly body like his own, but a Body nonetheless. He put a piece of his chain in the creature, and this gave him life. Opening the creature's eyes, he watched the pale creature float through his land. He called the creature Vaati. Vaati made more creatures like himself. They seemed to congregate together. It was strange. It seemed like the ants that Morintu occasionally drowned. They built... things. Cities, they called them. They named themselves the Wind Dukes. Morintu only checked on them occasionally. He brought things that the Wind Dukes could use to make their "Cities." Morintu liked these "cities." They Imposed order on everything. Morintu dreamed of a time when the cities would cover the whole world. He taught his people the ways of magic and martial combat. He smiled. It seemed like they didn't understand what combat was for except for rituals, and magic could be used to hurt people. Morintu wanted to hide this from his Wind Dukes. Morintu Returned to the land from his Elemental Plane of Air, looking at the changes. (The Wind Dukes) (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wind_Dukes) |
| Janusunaj02-20-07, 07:28 PM | Amon saw the prophecy, and he had an interesting thought..."If the future is not set in stone. If this is something that can be avoided, I must set forth to bring life where there is not yet death." Amon noticed that the intelligence of the animals was limited. They had personalities, they had thought, and (according to RL) they even could communicate with eachother. But there was one thing they did not have. They did not have what Amon would want to have in worshipers. They neither had the mental capacity to serve him, nor did they have the awareness one would need for human level sentience. Amon decided to do something about that. He brought sentience to a small gathering of lizards, and he taught them all that he could after bringing them wisdom. He would make sure they knew what to do with their new found intelligence and sophistication far more than all of the animal kingdom and previous mortal creatures. The lizards developed a social structure. Respect for Elders, Honor of the Parents, and manners. Later they began to call themselves dragons. (Create Domain: Knowledge, Portfolio: Wisdom) (In case I wasn't clear, these are oriental style dragons. They are not Elemental based, and not the Lung in the Oriental Handbook. These Lung Dragons are Order, Wisdom, Good, and Fate based, and not on the Four Elements.) (Teach Populous, Create Concept(Wisdom) OOC:Lizards are seen as symbols of wisdom in many different cultures. Ecspecially Asian. |

Are they (will they be) as wise as your d&d dragons or are they as smart as worms? Also a size; are they colossal or tiny (ie, are they fairy dragons or world sundering dragons) Also, if you are creating dragons, this will open up the domain Dragon. Since you already gained a domain (knowledge) the domain Dragon will become open for a god... Janusunaj, are you happy with this? |
| Janusunaj02-20-07, 08:31 PM | Yes. Actually, Dragon can go to the other guys. Maybe the Elemental guys. Knowledge is good for me. And also, I think that since these lizards are supposed to be a symbol of wisdom, around 19-20 seems high enough. Oh, size wise, Asian dragons can be as small as a dog, as they are now(Or up to large size) but it might be interesting to have them eventually grow into Collosal size for the old Lungs, and Gargantuan for the next oldest, and Huge for average. |
| Agent Graves02-20-07, 08:44 PM | Are they a PC race? is Lung Dragon their name? |
| ewancummins02-20-07, 08:44 PM | Arteheyn saw the new sun blaze into the heavens. She was happy to see that her garden plants drank in its bright rays and grew stronger. Some of her animals disliked its brightness, but she saw that it did not stay fixed above her, but circled the heavens[ or rather, the earth circled it]. Resolving to seek further wonders, she left her garden and went walking across the dry land. After a time she came to one of the vast pools of salt water left by the tears of the creator. She dove into it and took the form of a silver scaled fish. Seeing that it was empty, she resloved to populate it with all sorts of living creatures, plants and animals alike . First she decided to create creatures that would help her protect, nurture, and shape this new ocean realm. She made these not from clay, but rather from the ocean itself, infused with a tiny portion of her own divine essence. When she was finished she stood back and looked upon what she had made. Her new creatures had bodies not unlike her own, save that their lower limbs resembled the tails of fish more than legs for walking on land. These new beings she named Tritons. They would watch the deep for her and would honor her as their mother. She played with them for a time. She saw that they would accomplish far more working and living together than singly, so she bade them dwell together in peace and combine their efforts. This was different than the way of her beast children, who came together only out of simple instinct. Now her thinking children would cooperate to a purpose: guarding and nurturing her creations . | Janusunaj02-20-07, 09:33 PM | No. They are Dragons, OOC speaking, like the Metallic and Chromatic Dragons, and they are called Lung Dragons. Now, the Lung Dragons, I'd see some of them, such as the Wisdom Dragons to have VERY high wisdom scores. |
| d2447866702-20-07, 10:53 PM | By opening up the domain dragon, does that mean someone on the waiting list could create a god, or just for any god to claim? |
| Delfedd02-20-07, 11:15 PM | The Dragon Domain is not open. Amon changed what he was doing. I believe. |
| Janusunaj02-20-07, 11:25 PM | The Dragon Domain is not open. Amon changed what he was doing. I believe. If GM and I understand what we are saying to eachother, I have Knowledge Domain now, and have made the Lung. I looked at the Family Tree, too, and I do have Knowledge Domain. So the Dragon domain may or have not been made, though I'm not sure. |
| Agent Graves02-20-07, 11:30 PM | By opening up the domain dragon, does that mean someone on the waiting list could create a god, or just for any god to claim? It would open the domain dragon as a primary domain, (and allow gods already created to acquire the domain by creating a dragon) but these are not those dragons, they're more like intelligent, oriental lizards. I was umm-ing and arr-ing about opening it up... but i don't think it is time. Sun is open though. |
| d2447866702-20-07, 11:33 PM | Ah; I was curious, seeing as if it was, it would let me take may turn faster. I see I shall have to bide my time. Ninja EDIT:Or rather, as much as I was thinking, I just saw you opened sun. |

| Warmonger85602-21-07, 04:27 AM | Having just discovered this lovely little experiment, I would also like to join in, assuming there is an opening. Given the length of the list in the first post, I figure I can probably squeeze in as the god of unnecessary paperwork before all's said and done :P |

| Evil DM Mk302-21-07, 05:08 PM | You know I do not envy the guy who tires to draw this lot up as a family tree... by my reckoning, Amon and Ahuizotl are direct results of the storyteller doing things. As are Arteheyn and Morintu, but less so, also Ahuizotl was part of teh reason for Morintu. My guy is a force of the world, but he was given his form by the actions of Amon and Ahuizotl, so where he goes it tricky, not sired but connected in a simmiar way... God, um, hang on, er, nope, um, ah, Lord only knows where the new guy fits in! Oh and another note, can you add seers and doomsayers to my worshipers? As well as prophecy to my portfolio? |
| Kirtanus_Albacron02-21-07, 05:14 PM | As Ry'theal came into existence, he looked upon a world, and saw that it needed much work to be done. First, he saw with the prying rays of the sun an almost white layer, with no imperfection visible. He saw that this could lead to a great power source, and Ry'theal, in his pride, sought to match it. He would gather up energy from his home, and send it in a crimson ray towards the planet. When it hit it the ray would spread out into separate lines, and after glowing for a few moments the lines would fade away, going under the earth. An energy that could be used by all who trained hard enough and attuned themselves to it Then, as Ry'theal did this, he noticed that there was no proper place for him to shine upon, one flat and nearer to him. He would raise up his hands to move the earth up, and then swipe his right hand to flatten the raised earth to make a plateau. Feeling spent, he would gaze upon the planet, watching the activity. I made the plateau at about a-d 15-18 [Mold Earth, Create Concept/Domain: Arcane Magic/Ley Lines: 3+1=4] Did I do it right? |

I'll make the mountain that has been turned into a plateau a separate mountain, maybe a series of smaller plateaus- Also, creating ley lines will give you the domain Magic, do you want to keep it of let another god be created from it? |
| Kirtanus_Albacron02-21-07, 05:43 PM | I'll let someone else have it. |

When you evolve form do you get the extra point that turn or do you wait till the next? |

Though i'll put you on the waiting list and if another god is created, you can apply then. Regarding evolving form, you should wait until next turn but this is the first time and the details are still being ironed out. Just an experiment. |
| zzakk2to202-21-07, 07:30 PM | Thank you and I hope I can get a positition. It will most likely be a shapeshifter whatever the domain is but if I get some lawful type thing I will stay away from it. Edit: just looked up the domains and saw madness (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/divine/domains.htm#madnessDomain) and artifice (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/divine/domains.htm#artificeDomain) domains which apeal to me where my god could be a crazy inventor |

| Evil DM Mk302-24-07, 03:33 AM | I don't know, here I am, writhing in agony, in suspended animation or temperal vortex whilst we wait for our longest mounth ever to end. I may well have to start prophecising just to stop this thread from falling off the bottom! On that note. Anarchy and Fate shall both lead to one that they shall set themsleves against together, one in error and one in vain, and when they falter, one shall fall and one shall rise. So there. :P Edit: Quick note about the post bellow, I made a quick little prophecy in a PM about another matter... anyone else want a go? |
| Delfedd02-24-07, 10:59 AM | (I believe roleplaying doesn't cost any points. This is what will probably keep this thread going for a while.) Morintu was searching for the one who made the prophecy about him. Such a prophecy made him nervious. And what was a "son" anyway? With his ally Vaati, Morintu set out to find the prophet. When he found the god, he looked at him. "Who are you? I have seen you, connected to you, but Why? Why are we here?" |
| Evil DM Mk302-24-07, 11:24 AM | (I believe roleplaying doesn't cost any points. This is what will probably keep this thread going for a while.) When he found the god, he looked at him. "Who are you? I have seen you, connected to you, but Why? Why are we here?" Um, is this interacting with another dieaty or just talking to one? I don't wat to answer untill I know, anywho it is a bit pointless asking me anything right now... |
| Delfedd02-24-07, 01:48 PM | I dunno. I got the impression that interacting was more attacking other people. I was just trying to establish a roleplaying situation. I don't think that we should be barred from roleplaying with each other. I mean, talking and attacking each other is a totally different thing. |
| Evil DM Mk302-24-07, 02:05 PM | Allright then, for all the good it might do you...(see my last reported status) Kur-ah rolled over to turn his face towards the speaker, fault lines where cracking over his earthen skin and robes. He pointed to the sky and, faintly, slowly, in words made of nothing but heat in the air, he wrote: Why is the question that reality is set to answer. Ask the question and you shall learn that there is no answer knowable. But I know this, darkness comes, soon. It will take power beyond any yet existant to destroy, know this, he who is both brother and uncle to my form. Inocence is set to leave the world, darkness to enter. |
| Delfedd02-24-07, 03:49 PM | Morintu looked at the words which blazed through the sky. He hissed. It distressed him. Looking at the quivering magma which he felt stragely akin to, he said "Let me help you up." Reaching out his hand, he tried to grab the pitiful creature. It burned his fingers. Weaving a spell, he gave this creature a hand up. |
| Evil DM Mk302-25-07, 01:38 PM | Lets skip him and save his action points for next turn! Damn it, I am afraid I am going to have to second this now, put a rule about turn times in the first post, this is getting silly. |
| Agent Graves02-25-07, 04:55 PM | Hey team, its great to see you guys interested in this- and since we're waiting on a the god of chaos to take a turn how about a little crunch work/feedback. (then i'll take a turn and start the next month) This would work better before a campaign, the group sitting around the table working together to build the world. Heck, the dm could have the players create their pcs as 'chosen' by the god they created. Though there are a few things that would need to be worked out like mood and theme, high magic, low magic. Usually a goal is a good place to aim at. Also, i wonder how many gods would choose to take on 'evil' or would they be forced to take the domain if they took actions to warrent it? if a gaming group were running this, building the world together, does the dm play the antagonist god or does the group (lets say six of them) play a number of gods each? |
| zzakk2to202-25-07, 04:57 PM | This can be a game all by itself! |
| Evil DM Mk302-25-07, 05:21 PM | If you where to run it as a pre-game event then the DM would HAVE to take up the Suprime deiaty mantle. No other way to do it. As for number of deiaties per player, depends on how many fiaths you want in the world, a normal sized pantheon cannot arrise from a normal sized party. As for tricky domains such as evil and death, (that really ought to arive soon) they can either come from actions or, of course, from inaction. How long have their been creatures alive now? How many have died? What is one of the sentient creatures commits a murder and is empowered by the raw evil fo their act. It is much better I feel to allow this secondary path for those things that you need to get in. Now then, when is this turn arriving?:D |

| Evil DM Mk302-25-07, 05:29 PM | For I have seen! He saw the deaths of all gods, at the end he saw a war, a war between the force created by Amon and its oposite, a force he saw was even now moving quietly through the minds of all but was not yet manifest. A war between the light and the dark. The outcomes and causes of this war varied but in each case divinity died, for ever. When this war is to come he cannot tell, for it rellies on myriad other factors, factors that the truly wise and powerful could now see in his writings, but it would be millenia at least. Note, war not forseen as begining right away, a pre-dawn of man apocalypse is not that fun. |
| Agent Graves02-25-07, 05:56 PM | As the world took shape, the Storyteller watched and wrote. Though he dared not gaze into the chasm he new what was to come. (evil and the end of the world... though evil will only be making an appearence) He toiled away at the earth, pushing the soil asside and connecting rivers to streams, to lakes and oceans. The hills he wooded, the plains he seeded with grass. Marsh lands grew along the wettest of tributeries. 'Surely,' he thought, 'the River Maiden's creatures will live here too' The storyteller considered the sun as it cast shadows over the earth. The time of day could be marked with shadows. The time of year, even seasons, he mused. With that thought in mind, He dug into the earth, pulling from it boulders which he carved into obelisks. On the first he wrote his name with his quill... the rest he left blank for other gods. These rocks he arranged in concentric circles, noting the shadows, the time of day, the time of month, the time of year... He picked up his quill and wrote it all down. | ewancummins02-26-07, 02:23 AM | Arteheyn created new animals and plants from the muck of the ocean floor. She was pleased to see the new fish swim away to fill the depths. She smiled as the whales and dolphins danced and sang for her.Seabirds took flight from her hands , to soar high above the rolling waters . Coral arches began to form slowly. Such plants as she found near the water's edge , she cast into the sea and changed them to grow in the bitter waters. Kelp grew up into great forests of green and blue. After she had finished her creation, the bitter waters teemed with new living things. After a time, she grew restless and took her leave of the tritons. She drifted lazily to the surface and ascended to the skies on a bed of mists. This cloud carried her homeward. Rain fell from the cloud and the earth below, and the thirsty beasts drank it. Seeing that this was good, Artheheyn created more clouds and spread them across much of the sky. She commanded them to gather, disperse, shed waters, and move in patterns pleasing to her. These were neither the rigid ways of Law, nor the surging maelstrom of Chaos. There was order to the clouds movements, but also changefulness and unpredictability. She delighted to see her clouds shift form , now appearing as one animal, and now as another. | Evil DM Mk302-26-07, 03:34 AM | Kur-ah, The god of Prophecy felt a great wave of agony though his form, knowing that soon the inevitable would happen, and the earth itself shook with his pain, creating great casms the size of continents under the earth. Great bulbous holes that had little effect on the chape of the surface but had made a whole new land. Create (far too large for mere molding) land: Under-realms. Great cavernous expanses that, well you know. (For the record the echology is likely based on water seeping down through rocks, carring nutirents, fungi growing from this and then the rivers meeting up with magma, forming gysers on the surface.) But the agony persisted. Using what little power that was not allready spent keeping his form molded he tugged at the clouds and the orbit of the earth and a great many other things and brought about a temperary time of snow to ease his pains, but ensured that there would be a time of sun also, and kept the balance. Create concept: Seasons, domain - Winter. I do not want to keep it but the Summer domain is also likely to open up as a result of this, so if that is too much tell me and I will change the action. | Agent Graves02-26-07, 05:21 PM | A bit of fluff to introduce the gods of time; night and day. As the storyteller bent his head to write, the twilight passed over the stone calendar... and time slowed. The wind held its breathe, the oceans peaked but did not break. The fires froze in their dance and the birds and animals on the earth hung unmoving amidst leaps or flight. He looked up puzzled as the shadows dissapeared and the calendar, for a moment, became nothing more than rubble. And from behind opposing rocks, rocks now emblazoned with sigils, one representing the night and the other day, the mist of the twilight coalesced... And time moved on |

| Agent Graves02-26-07, 11:26 PM | NAME: Kersys Opening his eyes, Kersys looks upon the world he has been newly born into. Seeing it is still incomplete, he wills a shadow over the world. His power is not vast enough to cover the land permanently in darkness, so he allows the light to overcome his "gift" upon the world for a certain period of time every day. [Create Concept: Night (3 AP)] you can take your turn again, since you were made from night, hence it has already been created. |
| andinel02-26-07, 11:53 PM | Okay then. Opening his eyes, Kersys looks upon the world he has been newly born into. He notices the creatures that have already been born into the world and those that have yet to be created. With a wave of his hand, he creates creatures that dwell solely in the night, and wills them to spread across the world and multiply. [Create Creatures: rats and their kin, 2 AP] Giving these creatures a place to dwell, Kersys once again extends his arm and shapes the land beneath the earth into a vast pathway of tunnels and caverns that will never know the light of day, save the few entrances into the network. [Mold Land: Underdark, 1 AP] |
| Evil DM Mk302-27-07, 02:55 AM | Um, excuse me but: Giving these creatures a place to dwell, Kersys once again extends his arm and shapes the land beneath the earth into a vast pathway of tunnels and caverns that will never know the light of day, save the few entrances into the network.is redundant because of: The god of Prophecy felt a great wave of agony though his form, knowing that soon the inevitable would happen, and the earth itself shook with his pain, creating great casms the size of continents under the earth. Great bulbous holes that had little effect on the chape of the surface but had made a whole new land. Create (far too large for mere molding) land: Under-realms. Sorry, but I got there first. Still, nice to see you! |
| zzakk2to202-27-07, 09:15 AM | Do I get my turn now? |
| Illeveun Bloodblaze02-27-07, 11:15 AM | Lexius knew ... conciousness. He appeared on a plateau, filled with sunlight. And he gave thanks to the sun. Soon, he realized that he must make his own abode. Taking up his maul he slammed it into the earth, raising mountains tall and cold (k-11 back around in a circle to k-12) Lexius moved with a purpose, to the tallest of those mountains, and made his home in the supreme carvern there. Soon he became lonely, and created animals capable living up there with him. Giving them wings, beaks, talons, and heat absorbing feathers, so that they can live up here, or close to up here as possible. He realized the potential in these beings, and gave them minor potential for arcane magic, but no significant form of intelligence (Mold earth, Create populous) 2+1=3 AP |

He places his domination over this caverns, declaring it a stronghold of the night [Mold Earth, 1 AP] |
| Delfedd02-27-07, 07:21 PM | Sorry for the delay. The god of Justice has been waiting. Morintu was looking around the earth after trying to aid the God trapped in the Earth. How it was begining to disgust him. Flowers, trees, Pah! ridiculous. Even the clouds in his sky, for it WAS his sky, the sky that wasn't made for change sickened him. So much chaos surrounded him that he wanted to do something about it. Unfortunately, Morintu knew the dangers of meddling with the other God's affairs. So he took his busness northward. Glancing at his other creation, the plane of Air. What was it. White. Ever white. Hmmm... Shaping the clouds to his will, he created a band of permanent snow and ice, white lands covering the northern reaches of the Earth. (Mold Weather systems? 1 Ap. Northlands G and northward) Floating above his new land of ice and snow, he looked down gleefully over it. It was small, but it was His. Flying away from his perfect land, Morintu Watched the rest of the world. So... horrid. Mating and eating, mating and eating. Was that all they ever did? Morintu found something interesting which he was sure hadn't been their before. It lay in the land, great lined. Touching one tentatively, he knew things which he had not known before. Morintu found this extremely interesting. Probing with his chains, he was intruiged to find that things happened. Grass lay flat. Morintu decided that he needed more chains. His shackles could be VERY useful sometimes. Binding these chains to the ley lines he found a surge of power which intrigued him. He could do things he couldn't have imagined previously. He could see farther than before, and reign more destruction. (Evolve physically bind chains to the land. Cast three Arcane spells per level 3 Action Points) In the heart of the northland, Morintu decided to create a place where Vaati and his kindred could enter the world. Almost immediately, they began building another city. (Create Portal B19 2 AP. Small city on top of that) I'm not sure if the Evolve physically will be allowed. I've got something else prepared if it doesn't work out. |
| ewancummins02-27-07, 09:30 PM | I realized I haven't been putting a header with the current year and month on my posts. If we all did that, it would perhaps go more smoothly. I don't want to accidentally miss a turn. :) |
| Janusunaj02-27-07, 10:39 PM | May I ask that you add Good Necromancers to Amon's portfolio? |
| Kirtanus_Albacron02-28-07, 10:31 AM | Ryth'eal would be relaxing about the surface of the sun, basking in his creation of what he would call his sacred place, his plateau. Then, suddenly, he saw it it dissapear, hidden under eternal clouds of a nature different than winter. With the prying eyes of the sun-no, his sun, that this would be a place where he would permanently not be able to shine. Ryth'eal would rage at this fact, and for a second, the sun would shine brighter, but then go back to it's normal hue. It was then that he felt that his creation was being shackled, being controlled, when it was ment to be a wild, free force, instead of subjugated by a certain deity. It was meant for the future inhabitants of the world to use. Ryth'eal would then pick up his spear, and then grasp it by his hands, ready to wreck upon the deity his retributuion. Not being able to get a clear view, Ryth'eal would poke a few holes in the clouds, permanant places of sun. Then, his sunlight able to get through, he would be able to see the chains, and the deity, shackled to the ley lines. Thrusting his spear at the chains, not wanting to kill the diety, Ryth'eal would break the chains, freeing the magic. Ryth'eal, seeing that he could do nothing about the clouds, would raise his sacred place above the clouds, moving the plateau even closer to him. Feeling satisfied, Ryth'eal would sit back upon the sun, watching. [Attack another god: 3 AP, Mold Earth: 1 AP] I believe that Ryth'eal would gain the Freedom domain, freeing the magic from the shackles of another diety, but not attacking the diety himself. |

(Pre emtive :bump: before this fell off the bottom of page 1 and would be ahrder to find and less likely to be rmembered by those people who we are waiting for.) |
| Agent Graves03-01-07, 07:15 PM | Sorry guys, i've been a little busy what with work and all- we'll pass on chaos' turn. He can become the man on the moon, or something like that. I'll end the turn if we aren't waiting on anyone else. |
| Evil DM Mk303-01-07, 11:42 PM | I am 99% sure we are just waiting on him. |

| zzakk2to203-02-07, 08:56 AM | Then lets go with the next turn. |
| Delfedd03-02-07, 10:34 AM | Morintu cried out in pain. His chains had been severed before they had a moment to even take root. Gritting his teeth, he made his chains snake out through the world. He couldn't bear to be unnattatched. He watched the plateau rise far above his domain. That made him furious. He had put the plateau there for a reason. He would get his vengence on the "sun lord." Not now. Not immediately. Why take vengence now when he could wait. He could wait such a long time. He hissed. Sunlight had pierced his perfect clouds. He needed to blow off some steam. |
| Kirtanus_Albacron03-03-07, 12:06 AM | The plateau is was talking about was the plateau I placed in my first post. |
| Delfedd03-03-07, 12:09 AM | I know. You said that you used sunlight to pierce the clouds. |
| Kirtanus_Albacron03-03-07, 12:25 AM | You said that you placed the plateau for a reason, so I was just clarifying that I was raising the plateau I created in my first post. |
| Delfedd03-03-07, 09:20 AM | Aye. And it really ticked me off. :-D |
| Agent Graves03-04-07, 05:53 PM | ... around Kur-ah snow began to fall. Cold, white flakes floated down cooling the god and all around him the earth itself became blanketed by the frozen powder. Angry volcanoes became dormant, their fire replaced with steam, their heat cooled. Forests, streams and mountains became quieter. Bird song became scarce, crickets and cicadas silenced their chirp, antelope and bear, tiger and goat escaped the cold white powder; the creatures of the earth and the air sought refuge and began to sleep. And something else awoke. A god created from the cold, the snow, the frost opened its eyes for the first time. The god of winter was born. The barren earth, life-less soil where no god had created life lay under the snow. And as it slowly melted, it watered the ground enriching the soil and the earth grew. Seeds germinated and sprouts sprung. The grasses grew tall, taller than a man and swept across the hills. Flowers bloomed and soon a multitude of buzzing insects called the rolling hills their home. The grasses parted and from amidst the buzzing stepped the god of Summer. summer and winter can post, i'll edit it a bit to fit in with their descriptions. It sounds like the is a half a year passin between summer and winter, but to gods time is little to be worried about. |
| Evil DM Mk303-04-07, 06:14 PM | Um, is that next turn starting, or still last turn?! |
| Agent Graves03-04-07, 06:24 PM | month five has started, delfedd and Kirtanus_Albacron started early, i've introduced summer and winter. Go to it team. |
| Evil DM Mk303-04-07, 06:26 PM | Right, *cracks knuckles* The furnace of foresight rumbled, his form held only by the most tentitive of threads, his whole body on the brink of becoming little more than a pool of cooling lava when he heard the sound he had been waiting for, a sound in one of only a few futures, the sound of Arteheyn ariving in time! Arteheyn ran to see what was causing her animals to turn in terror, causing her precious plants to wither from heat in the heart of the snow, and then she saw him, the man of the magma, the one who had written in the stars. He was in pain! He had too much of a conflicting power! It would tear him appart and take with it more than half the world! She sent down waves of torrential rain to cool his form, snow and hail to freeze the power inside, anything to prevent the explosion within. The sudden dramatic drop in temprature caused a portion of his form to crack and shatter, most of his chest was blown away, she saw that only one of the gems of Amon remained, encased deep in his head. The great shards of earth, fate and fire shot into the heavens and further than she could see. She lay her guest down to rest and set out to find these things, lest they be dangerous to her animals. Morintu saw from his northern Reaches the earth tremble. His brother... for that was what he thought of the man of earth and fire... was having trouble. Bringing with him a legion of his best fighters, he found his brother lieing in the garden a gaping hole in his chest shining purple light, but not affecting his health. He spoke to his brother. He discovered the significance of the eggs and set forth to gather them with Arteheyn. He flew through the air and she through the water. They recovered several clutches, but several more where lost. Kur-ah had explained that any gifts they gave would be given to all, even those not found. Not wanting them to become creatures of the earth, the dark stink of earth, the rotting of water, he swept through their lands to change the fate of all the eggs. Not crawling worms, but great... great Wyrms! That was a name to call them. When they returned with the eggs Kur-ah was ready with his gifts. He would give them great minds keen in the ways of fate and futures. He also gave them a languadge. One with great precision and power, one of mighty beuaty to match their eventual forms and eliquent dictum for thier brillaint minds. Morintu gave them wings, flight to dwarf that of any other creature, he gave them the concepts of logic and rational though, careful and long viewed minds. He also gifted them with distinct patterns and forms for the differant clutches so that their liens would always be known. Arteheyn gave them vitality and health, she gave them the ability to turn aside blows that would lay smaller creatures low. She gave them unique tissues and organs that would alow them to survive and thrive in a given land, to make some proof form fire, others form the cold of the winter. They taught the young wrymlings for a time and found them homes, Kur-ah now much recovered. The dragons then parted form them, some to return to them and the other dieaties quickly, others to live with the animals of the world. Morintu smiled as he saw one particularly stubborn wrymling tring to fly to reach the creator, to ask a burning question about gold. Create populous: DRAGONS!!! :cheer: Teach populous. Total 3 AP between 3 Deiaties. The dragons are of their normal color alignments, cromatic dragons beign born of those eggs not found by the deiaties, gaining the gifts but not the care and sancutry. As they are born of divine energy (Ultimately Amon's in reality, but with big dollops of us three.) they are very adept at acting as deific heralds. As a provisional rule (given a  by AG) (same as I have used them before in other DnD worlds where they gained the nick name, "nukes of the gods"). Lesser and intermdiate deiaties may have a single draconic herald, greater deiaties two. For the supreime dude, what he wants, he keeps! Lesser deiaties heralds take their deiaties alignment regardless of color and stop aging at great wyrm. Intermediate and Greater deiteis' heralds also gain either celestial or fiendish templates and bonus hd after great wyrm to level out their CR at that of a Great Wyrm Gold. This ought to take no AP and be a kind of gerneic ability. It is also going to give dragons a fairly well defined place in the world. That is 1 of my APs (and two form two others) Rest of my turn to follow tommorow. Sleep now... Oh and ATM dragons are Wrymlings, they are likely to reach Great Wyrm at about year 2 mounth 10 or there abouts. Have fun, and try not to get anoyed when they start bothing you, they are, after all, only kids... :D |
| zzakk2to203-04-07, 06:45 PM | Any set place for a home in the world would eventualy fall under the dark of night. Akhier seeing this takes a piece of himself and uses it as a seed to grow an island of crystal then gathered up the lay lines and connected them to the island of crystal allowing it to float above the land then set it so that It would forever follow the sun so that the sun would always be directly overhead. Seeing how this had weakend him Akhier focused his powers and made his crystal form more fluid allowing him to do more without tiring so easily. That done he looks down that the land he created and saw a barren land so he forced the crystal into fertile soil and allowed a great forest to grow where at the center directly connect to the laylines a giant tree growing off the energy lifted high into the sky atleast 3 times bigger then any tree before. See that tree Akhier knew he had done good but feeling tire he knew he must rest so he setled into the tree knowing it as home. The Lung then attacked the Wind Elementals next, and attempted to take down an entire city. It was then Amon decided to act. He summned six of the most powerful Lung, and Elementals to fight the evil Lung, and they over powered him, putting an end to his threat. ::Create Concept/Portfolio::Heroes Amon then raised his hands, and out of his mouth came an energy, the energy turned to the planet and returned to him, and Amon there for writhed in a tingling fashion from the energy that pulsed with him. | Delfedd03-04-07, 08:02 PM | (Create dragons/educate dragons 1) Morintu was raging over the sea. His chains had been broken. It was infuriating. He Tossed lightning at the seas. His rage was great. However, soon he saw something rising out of the violent surf. Something about the thing made him feel strange. He stopped his thunder, and spoke with the thing. He learned that the thing was a her, and it... no... she was a goddess. They spoke for a long time, and then made love over the sea. They are gods. Gods by nature are very promiscuous. The god was born into a ship. It instantly began circling the sea with the godling inside. (Begat god 3 Ap with Arteheyn. This is a Male God with the Travel and ocean domains.) In their passion, Morintu accidentally brought a beautiful island up from the sea (Aj-8). It has beautiful trees and flowers. Morintu liked this island somehow. It made him feel content. He found a pair of dragons. A golden one (Gomin) and a silvered one (Somin). He enjoyed the feeling of their minds. He took to carrying them with him. Occasionally, he had these wee wyrms scout out the rest of the world. (Also, how does one increase Divine Rank?) |

| Evil DM Mk303-05-07, 02:32 AM | It was a while after the creation of the dragons that he who saw set out. The power to see gone he knew he would have to reliy on memories and written records. To that end he set out towards that place that he had intedned as his home all those terestial years ago. Although there was now a perminat hole through his chest he could not help but smile. He had not felt so joyous in his existance. He enjoyed the feeling of purpous that he now possessed. "Isn't!" "Is!" "Isn't!" "Is!" "Isn't!" "Is!" He was distracted by this noise, two of the Dragons, one Copper and one Brass, he had helped create where squabaling. Probably over some triviality. "Isn't!" "Is!" "Isn't!" "Is!" "Isn't!" "Is!" Such pointelss and immature behaviour saddened him, he has created such beautifful words and to hear them used for petty and pointless gainsaying was upsetting. Whatever the Copper was adimant about the Brass hotly refuted. "Isn't!" "Is! I say the freedom to take reponsibility for your actions is the basis of all freedoms! It is! IS!" "I say it isn't" Prehaps he had missjudged these two... And so it was that Earthscale and Firefang, for those were their names in their own tounge, joined Kur-ah on his journey, and in time the three came to know each other well. In fact the connection went beyond what other creatures felt for each other, and soon they knew each other's minds as well as their forms. As he trod out over the land, Earthscale perched on his sholder and Firefang circling his head, they began to talk. "Where are we going?" Home. "Where is home?" The mountain. "What is a mountain?" The place we are going to. "M'kay." "What are birds for?" | Evil DM Mk303-05-07, 02:43 AM | Right, a few changes to my prophile needed, also what is happening to the Dragon domain? My description should include a hole through my chest that lets out purple light and my worshipers should extend to include dragons, although I think almost any deiaty could now. Oh and AG there is no conflict or problem over your decription of the seasonal deiaties ariving, as it is usually summer in one place and winter in another isn't it? Is this how you understand it AG? That is about right, as I understand it too. Dragons as heralds are not avatars. (unless you are the god of dragons, dragon domain being primary) Alrighty, i'll update the three gods who were involved in creating the dragons- Amon,Arteheyn and Kur'Ah all get the dragon domain... and, since so many dragons were created i'll officially open Dragon as a... (thinking, considering, musing)... lesser deity- i guess young 'coz dragons were created young. We have our first child being born of two gods which gives us an opening for an opening for an intermediate god with travel and ocean. Lexius is getting angry... if he acts in violence he'll most likely gain either fury or retribution... Morintu seems to also be prone to outbursts... Next time he acts angrily he too will most likely gain fury |

And if I may suggest, once more cities are built, deities can pour their will and message into the city. 2 Ap would make a 1/10th the population convert, 4 for 1/5th. All of the population cannot be converted because of things like cults and stuff. Also, Why is Kur-Ah the only one who gets the dragon domain? |
| Evil DM Mk303-06-07, 02:46 AM | First I do not think that using AP to gain worshipers is a good idea, worshipers are likely to find deiaties. Also it would stunt our ability to do stuff. Also Lexius grew angry when he saw that this, this ..... thing, had try to control his one and true responsibility. How dare it! Even Lexius didn't demand control of the ley lines. He was only there guardian, and caretaker. No one controled them. Lexius would have to deal with this attempted usurper later. Morintu was raging over the sea. His chains had been broken. It was infuriating. He Tossed lightning at the seas. His rage was great. Amon descended from the Heavens to the Prime Material Plane. It was then that an evil Lung had gone mad and had attacked an unprotected nest of wyrmlings. And other posts indicate we really ought to have Evil oponing up. Rage, anger, murder, come on, on one is going to start being evil of their own accord, so open the domain, probably as a greater deiaty to give the force the credit it is due. sorry, I just acsidentely imagined a baby dragon in full plate, aka the hero from above, his helm was on backwards... hehe... |
| Evil DM Mk303-06-07, 03:17 AM | Alrighty, i'll update the three gods who were involved in creating the dragons- Amon,Arteheyn and Kur'Ah all get the dragon domain... Um it was Morintu, not Amon, he just happened to have been the scource of MY divine power, that I had too much of. |
| Kirtanus_Albacron03-06-07, 02:31 PM | Ryth'eal would see that this other deity was angry at his intrusion, and he was glad. In his veiw, things shouldn't be subjugated by other things, and everything should be free. Seeing the other deity flee, Ryth'eal suspected that he would come back, and then commited himself to be more capable when this diety came back, looking for revenge. Ryth'eal would focus on his tail, elongating it and making himself more capable. He would then continue to stare at the world, seeing the activity that went down below, seeing certain small, but ultimatley bright, things, he would shoot down a ray of light to bring it up closer to him. It was a small golden, scaly being. Seeing that it was young, Ryth'eal was determined to raise it. As it wasn't affected by his domain, the Sun, Ryth'eal would talk to this creature. It was a little later that Ryth'eal would discover that that this creature was too ordered, and seeing this as a sign that this creatue wasn't free, he would continue to talk to it, trying to unlock it's wild side, but still keeping in an ordered manner and stay true to morals, like him, like the sun. He would name this creature Kalitroz'und'anozx, literatly, in this tongue creature's tongue, the oxymoron. [Evolve Physicaly: 3 AP] I will save the other AP for next turn. |
| Evil DM Mk303-06-07, 02:50 PM | Is this someone else doing the "sybiotic Herald" bit, or somthing else? Normal draconic heralds are a given AP free, not evolution. Mine are special, or at least this is what I understood. Still, things are really hotting up! |
| Kirtanus_Albacron03-06-07, 03:22 PM | No, Ryth'eal is just training this dragon as his herald, nothing symbiotic |
| zzakk2to203-06-07, 03:24 PM | Just wanted to post something I had forgot. The crystal Island is my psicrystal so just wanted to alert everyone of that and that damaging the island is a bad idea. |
| Evil DM Mk303-06-07, 03:30 PM | Just wanted to post something I had forgot. The crystal Island is my psicrystal so just wanted to alert everyone of that and that damaging the island is a bad idea.I get the feeling that attacking most of the stuff that is going on would be a bad idea... You live on an island that is part of you, I technically sorta have 3 bodies and all... I must say this is allready a lot more interestign and varied than some DnD pantheons, especially homebrew... |
| zzakk2to203-06-07, 03:31 PM | Its because every god is controled by a different personality and its turning out like a real one would. |
| Delfedd03-06-07, 03:50 PM | I've decided to do an in depth discussion of the wind dukes, their society, and their motives. The Wind Dukes are a race composed of creatures of wind and magic. Their very nature makes them fearsome fighters and Powerful mages. They where created alongside their leader, Vaati. In years to come, Vaati would be translated as the name of their race. The wind dukes write using Kur-ah's language. A wind duke is a humanoid standing between five and seven feet tall. All are slim and hairless. Their blue eyes lack pupils, and they have no gender. All Wind Dukes are gender neutral. (For simplicities sake, we shall use "he".) Wind dukes never come into contact with the ground, always floating at least six inches above the earth. In fact, the earth is an anethema to them. Touching the ground causes them grievious pain. Any given Wind duke has limited control over wind and electricity. Wind dukes reproduce magically. When a wind duke meets another wind duke and feels that reproduction is necissary, they must go to the mage's guild. If their coupling is allowed by the government, the wind duke mages craft a "Air womb." The wind duke's touch this clear blue bag and channel their electricity into the bag. This creates an infant which lives inside the Air womb for the next year and a half, learning about the nature of the universe and magic. To lessen this time is to risk madness. On the plane of air no Air Womb is needed. The wind duke society is very class centric. With government approval by Vaati and the high priests, a wind Duke can shift his class. The main classes are: Morlis (Councilor. Literally Morintu's mouth.): These Wind dukes assist in the running of the city, including arranging reproduction. Reintu (Mage. Literally Morintu's Chains): These Wind Dukes carry out the orders of the council. (The mages have not learned any spells outside Basic elemental spells with lightning subsitution, such as lightning ball and air utility spells as well as transmutation spells, although enchantment and illusion are slowly being experimented with). The Arcane magic in the wind dukes is still fairly weak, used only for reproduction and basic defense. Leintu: (Priests Mouth of Morintu): The priests have gained much power. Their proximity to Morintu has caused them to accelerate in his eyes. They are eccentric, but run much of the day to day in the city. Marintu: (Warriors. Literally Fist of Morintu) The warrior class patrols the streets often, keeping order and justice. They are trained as monks and are proficient with spiked chains to emulate Morintu. Leintu (Craftsmen. Mind of Morintu) Craftsmen are highly prized by Morintu. Creating things brings order to chaos. These people have mastered the craft of making magical weapons. The Reintu study the items that the Leintu create in hopes of discovering a new spell. In fact, this is how the Magic missile was discovered. (These are probably artificiers) Morinom (Body of Morintu Commoners) These are low level characters of most of the classes. They haven't become powerful enough to be involved in the government. Elementals: occasionally an air womb will break. Before the air has congealed into a true wind Duke, the Womb may break, unleashing an untamed, uneducated wild creature known as an Air elemental. These creatures are trained and used for manual labor. I hope that including Air elementals isn't over the top. I figure that creatures made of air are bound to have some screw ups in their magical nature. I can remove them if it's no good. |
| Agent Graves03-06-07, 04:38 PM | And other posts indicate we really ought to have Evil oponing up. Rage, anger, murder, come on, on one is going to start being evil of their own accord, so open the domain, probably as a greater deiaty to give the force the credit it is due. good point, somthing is definately affecting (effecting?) the gods and created beings to act differently. I wouldn't give anyone evil though, since I havn't seen any of the gods personifying evily- I mean, sure, anger, jealousy and murder (albeit from a created creature) are wrong but no one is completely evil. I get angry, maybe jealous but I wouldnt consider myself evil. All that being said something is definately about. Evil is now open |
| Evil DM Mk303-07-07, 04:36 PM | Evil is now open :evillaugh |
| zzakk2to203-07-07, 04:39 PM | No bad DM he only wants regular evil not super evil. |
| Evil DM Mk303-07-07, 04:43 PM | It had to be done. There are not enough simley only posts on this forum. anywho you can't play too deiaties at once it is harmelss. | ewancummins03-07-07, 08:23 PM | [Arteheyn had one unspent AP left over from last month. She spent that teaching the dragons. She has 5 AP left over] Arteheyn had returned to her garden. She had given birth to a new god, and set his cradle ship adrift in the sea. Arteheyn knew she could not spend all her time at sea , looking after the fast growing godling. She commanded a few of her tritons to look after him. Ah, but perhaps other servants, ones who were swift and could carry messages to Morintu the Skylord in his own realm, were needed ? Yes. She would create a race of flying creatures to both watch over the god child and carry messages to his father. Finding a nest of beautiful green tree snakes , Artheheyn called them to her. The snakes crawled to their mistress . They looked at her , uncomprehending of the great mission she had in mind for them. She first gave them reason so that they would understand their duties. Then she gave them speech, so they could convey messages. Finally, she gave them wings and feathers, so they could fly like birds. These new creatures she called coatl. They were wise, loyal, and kind - as befitted the caretakers of her child and trusted emissaries to her beloved Morintu. Two of these coatl were especially beautiful. These she chose to remain with her. She invested some of her power in them both. From now on, they would serve her directly, enabling her to perform more and greater things than before she had such helpmeets. She named one Brightwing and the other Bluescale . [grow extra ''hands'' 3 AP , create new populaton :coatl 2 AP - now I've spent all my APs] |
| Delfedd03-07-07, 09:09 PM | Morintu was idling through the sky, rattling his chains. His eyes caught something new gliding through the sky. He swooped down to confront the creature. Upon speaking to the creature for but a moment, he discovered who had sent it. His Beloved Artehyn. He stroked the head of one of them. She must have been thinking of him, for he and the Coatl looked so similar. He would create something for Artehyn, something beautiful that reminded him of her. Morintu had come to the slow realization that the Sun God had not done a very good job at severing his chains. It had hurt like a very painful thing, but he realized that his chains had just been shortened. He was still bound to the leylines. This made him happy. He was the lord of the leylines. He let his chains extend through the land, and he suddenly saw all that happened inside the leylines. He licked his lips eagerly. Lets just see the sun god try to stop him now. He was the Leylord. (This is not me being petulant. I still have leylines in the portfolio) |
| Evil DM Mk303-08-07, 02:09 AM | [A lil' bit o role playing] As Kur-ah walked he felt the magic convulse, as Firefang returned from an errand he had sent him on he too seemed to be worried. Earthscale was asleep, but he spelt poorly, kicking and bucking around. "Why is there unhappy in the air?" Prehaps, being born of divine energy, they could probably feel even better than him the dangerous path things were taking. Someone is stealing somthing somone else made. "That's not nice." No. No it isn't. |

| Delfedd03-08-07, 06:20 AM | Morintu was exhaulting in his rekindled power. He tried not to frolic as he flew about the sky. Morintu decided to show this to his power to his brother. Floating down onto the high mountain, Morintu hissed, "Brother! Brother! Look at what I have found! It's... It's incredible!" |
| Agent Graves03-08-07, 04:30 PM | really sorry to do this guys, but i won't be able to post over the weekend. Can everyone make sure they've posted for month five (minus chaos ofcourse) and we'll start six next monday. Also, we need to finish creating the earth- i gotta update the map. But, if its habitable earlier we could start year two earlier and sentient races |
| Evil DM Mk303-08-07, 05:07 PM | Hmm, well last I checked we do have all of the majour requirements for life, don't we? We have funtioning weather, seasons, varied terrain, day and night... The world IS habitable now, the problem is that some of the dieaties ahve no intrest in sculpting it, mine for example. No direct connection to the earth apart form mountains and such, anyway I did a lot of what sculptin ghas been done, sun, seasons, mountain, desert, under-realms... |
| zzakk2to203-08-07, 05:10 PM | my place even though its always in the day has very fertile land but I have it reserved sorta for my next creation and while I am at it when would be a good time to create my sentiant race because I will do it next turn I have if I can. |
| Evil DM Mk303-08-07, 05:25 PM | I mean I could do some plant and nutirent making, but I am trying to stay in character here! If we are to make sentient races then I think at least untill year two, to the traditionaly "ancient" creatures such as giants, Dragons (:D) and elves (I told a friend of mine about this thread, he asked if we had elves yet, aparently in his experiance by the time the gods have finished painting stars on the sky the elves have allready set up picnic tables and are handing around the quiche). The great thing about all of these is, of course, if someone get there first the other dieaties can make the other groups, so if I got really anoyed that I had missed out on making giants, I can enhance some existing ones and get STONE giants. |
| Janusunaj03-08-07, 10:13 PM | Is this Turn 5 now? |
| riverrock03-08-07, 10:22 PM | Yes, it is. I believe that Kersys and Absaul-Rote are the only deities who haven't gone yet. (other than Ahuizotl) |
| andinel03-08-07, 10:40 PM | Kersys looks upon the changes that the others have brought about. Noticing Amon's achievements, and wishing to further his own interests, Kersys shifts his form and becomes female (note: this doesn't change my AP, so it's not Evolve Physically) Kersys approaches Amon in her new form, and silently speaks to him her desire to bring a new deity into existence, a paragon of justice and time. |
| Janusunaj03-08-07, 10:52 PM | Kersys looks upon the changes that the others have brought about. Oh, Kersys, Let us do justice to the world, and bring in a great god. (Begat God, Necromancy god)."Will you be my wife dear Kersys? Amon then, brought down a powerful divine lightning upon the waters of the world, and many fish arose from the waters, walking like men, but possessing intelligence. Create Populace: Dilgad.(Merfolk(another 3) Meanwhile, the great Amon had studied his divine Magic, and had gained greater access to the powers of Heroism. Gain (Extra Domain Slot:Heroes, +1 Class Level Paladin/Cleric.) |
| andinel03-08-07, 10:54 PM | Kersys looks at Amon, and without a word accepts his proposal, but fades into the night until the night comes again. (Does Begat God use up my AP or Amon's AP?) |
| Evil DM Mk303-09-07, 04:16 AM | Kur-ah looked about the world, as he walked towards his mountain where, yes, Morintu was standing and shouting like a mad dog, and suddenly suffered a massive shift in emotion. He never realised how alone he could feel. He has his dragons, but he realised he had never shared more than a few fevered words with another dieity, still he felt he ought to avoid talking with Morintu for now for complex reasons, and slid under the earth and compleated his journey with his dragons in the under-realms. As he sat there musing, he made a decision. This new generation of godlings was important and would need much guidance. He sent Earthscale and Firefang away with gifts for each of them, for one, a copy of selected prophecies of the affairs of the ocean and of great and vital journeys as well as the location of many of the portals that would be built in the future. To the other, a book detialing all of the most vital births and deaths. To the ariving deity of dragons a tome of the most important of those dragons that would exist, Element, Lung and others. These tomes were cryptic and were left safely near the dieaties with a forward explaining the nature of the sender and a warning to use the contence with care and dilligance and to keep the tomes to themsleves and not to allow them to be taken from them. Each tome was made of grante with opal lettering and seemed to have few thick pages, but in fact contained many thousand. NOTE:-Role playing, I am doing nothing new here expet making fancy books, no AP needed. Also can we come to an agreemtn that turns ALLWAYS start on mondays? It might make it easier for all. |
| d2447866703-09-07, 08:52 PM | Glacieso saw in his domain of ice and snow the rigidness of the shape in snow; that is, it had two rules: 1)It works it units of 6, eternally and without rest. 2)No two are the same. This led to an inner fight; the first suggests law, while the second suggests chaos. Glacieso went to the being responsible for his creation for which he was, lawful or chaotic, and found him making books. |
| Johnny_Angel03-10-07, 06:12 PM | I'm not sure if I was approved or not for my request. If I was, I will reserve my points from month 5 and use those points along with my month 6 turn. |
| Evil DM Mk303-12-07, 03:10 PM | Kur-ah looked up as he finished his final chapter. There are those for whom extreames are goals, and others for whom balance is the key. Answer me this my scion, does a blizard care for the travelers heart? Does it cut all down equally? There may be eventual order, or eventual chaos, but at teh moment, ther is only the snows. |
| zzakk2to203-12-07, 03:27 PM | ((so is new turns starting on monday? no one mention anything about this suggestion after it made though i think it would be good because then I know when the new turn is)) |
| Agent Graves03-12-07, 05:52 PM | Hey team, it is with great displeasure and annoyance that i am writing this. There are a number of things redirecting my attention (new job, marriages, regular life)- and this experiment has grown bigger than i expected rather quickly. As a result I have less and less time to post, let-alone keep track of your progress. I am sad, not because it means the experiment may have to finish, but because I have let down a great bunch of creative people who keep posting. Thankyou all for your enthusiasim. ... so the storyteller lays his quill down... ps, if you feel like continuing this thread, by all means continue. If you feel like starting a new one, then use or modify the first post with the rules. Though may i suggest a few gms working on it. One day, hopefully sooner than later I will be back and able to post more regularly, but until then keep writing. |
| d2447866703-12-07, 06:09 PM | Okay, who is gonna take the storyteller spot? I think one of the people NOT on the waiting list, as in the people with current dieties, as they are doing quite well. I myself would not be good at it, sadly. |
| Evil DM Mk303-12-07, 06:18 PM | I agree we ought to have a person who has a grasp of how it works, not a newbie. If pressed I feel I could take over, although I would be loathe to give up posting Kur-ah. I supose I could do both, Kur-ah could possibly become a storyteller, I mean his portfolio and demeanor seem to fit. I would keep him as he is though, leave the real story teller as a kind of mystic force. Or I could take over the storyteller and run both... The only problem is I have no acess to software cpaable of doing the map and family tree. Also we would need a kind of "new start" point on the thread to put the "real" map/family tree/stories on. So as I said, if you want me to, I can. (One of the fist things I would to would be to create a set timetable for posting in...) |
| Evil DM Mk303-12-07, 06:20 PM | Just so I know, of those who allready have dieaties (including those, if any, how have taken up domains on offer), who would want me to take over? |
| Janusunaj03-12-07, 06:30 PM | Hm. I think I may be able to take this over. If you would not mind me replacing the Story Teller, I could simply have Amon take over as Over God, pass his Order domain to someone else, and then play as a lesser deity, and not Amon, that might be well. Or, Kur-Ah could take over, although I don't remember what his Portfolio is. |
| d2447866703-12-07, 06:35 PM | I am fine with either of you two. |
| Evil DM Mk303-12-07, 06:35 PM | Domains are as follows: earth, fire, rune prophecy (note, rune and prophecy) and dragon. But I had intended to keep Kur-ah as a (probably very reclusive) greater dieity and take over as overdiety merarly as an administraive thing, rather than having Kur-ah become the big guy. Of course I supose the ideal solution would involve multiple GMs, prehaps each with their own specific areas to look after, thus reducing workload. I could easily colate the histories and set up a turn schedule, somone else could take over assigning dieites to posters on a first come first serve basis (including what domains open up for new poster as the result of actions) and another could deal with the map, family tree (including updating prophiles) and deciding what domains are gained by deities when they act... |
| riverrock03-12-07, 06:43 PM | That sounds like the best idea. In order to avoid a conflict of interest, we could simply not have any one be the over-deity. Absaul-Rote is still the overdeity, but he no longer intervenes. Splitting up the duties among several people also seems to be the best idea, in order to avoid the situation in which Agent_Graves became overwhelmed by all of the work. Because the preliminary post is all Agent_Graves, we should probably start over with a new post, so we can edit it and make it easy for people to access. I already have a simplified history typed up which I could post or e-mail to one of you. |
| Delfedd03-12-07, 06:47 PM | I concur. I vote that Evil DM takes over the administrative functions of the storyteller. I also think that the Storyteller should have an in game reason for leaving. |
| Evil DM Mk303-12-07, 06:48 PM | That is probalbly best. Who would do what? I am more than willing to be responcable for churning the turns around (it would probably be at 11:00pm Monday GMT, cos that is when I am usually onlin on Mondays) and keeping the history. Or I could take over free domain alocation (ie those that arise from the ether) and new deiaty arivals... I would rather not have to deal with mapping ect because of the fact I have rubish software. EDIT: OK so this is a popular idea it seems, if I do history updates and turn ending, we need: New domain alocation for new dieites (ie the constant warring of the dieaties causes madness in the clergy, new domain, madness up for grabs) Prophile updates (ie Joe god of hangovers created the dwarves, he gets the dwarf domain and dwarves as worshipers) Tecknicals (family tree and map issues) If we are to do this then I reckon we ought to start a new thread with the history and A LINK TO THIS THREAD. As soon as we are ready to go we ought to roll quickly to avoid people losing intrest, but we must ensure we have all we need onboard before we start, else it will fall to bits. |
| riverrock03-12-07, 06:55 PM | First of all, let's figure out what jobs there actually are: 1. Keeping track of the history. 2. Assigning new domains and informing people when there gods can be created. 3. Making the art for the map and family history 4. General referee-ing. I think we should go with the idea that the new turn starts on monday though. That way we can avoid situations were the person in charge of saying when the new turn starts is unable to post. |
| Evil DM Mk303-12-07, 06:58 PM | 1. Keeping track of the history. 2. Assigning new domains and informing people when there gods can be created. 3. Making the art for the map and family history 4. General referee-ing. Where would updading current dieaties go? As for me, 1 is my prime choice, it even fits in game. Oh and Abusul-rote didn't leave, he just got less and less interested as time went on and his attention was drawn to higher matters. |
| riverrock03-12-07, 07:10 PM | I would assume that it would be part of #2, although it could be split into a seperate duty. Also, we would want to clarify exactly how gaining a new domain works. Do you have to spend AP to get one, or can you gain a domain by other actions without spending AP? I think that there is a general consensus that Evil_DM should take the duty of recording the history. Now we just need to decide how to divide up the other duties. Also, we don't need to make it so Absaul-Rote left. He simply no longer intervenes. That way, if Agent_Graves ever wants to start playing again, he can pick up where he left off (sort of) |
| Evil DM Mk303-12-07, 07:12 PM | As I understand it domains are awarded as follows. 1:A diety creates a concept and a domain to go with it. If they have an empty slot they gain the domain. If they dont they can chose to dump an old one (chosen at teh same time) to gain it or it become sopen for use. 2:A deity does somthing that is related to a new domain but is not "create concept" such as starting the first war. They may chose to keep it if they they have an empty slot, optherwise a new domain is open for use. 3:Several situations seem to imply that a force is in action that has not been given a domain (as happened with evil). A new domain is open of use. Just a quick note, due to tome zone issues I may have retired due to sleep by the time the final decisions are made, I understand this may cause some problems with starting the new thread as if I am asked to post the history I will have to have a post (or three) near the top to put teh histories in, so could it possibly wait untill tommorow, rather than me having to post it 90% of the way down a page. Or some other useful situation. Ta.:D |
| riverrock03-12-07, 07:15 PM | I think that there is a general consensus that you will be in charge history. Why don't you go ahead and start, if you have time. The rest of us can then decide the rest. |
| Evil DM Mk303-12-07, 07:21 PM | Willco, roger and out. Actually there is noo reason for me not to do deity prophiles too, the god of runes shall the recorder be! I will roleplay in the threads a bit to try and give it a feel but 99.99% of it will be a colation of previous posts by others. Prehaps I ought to name mounths too... |
| riverrock03-12-07, 07:28 PM | We don't want one person to handle too many of the duties. Being in charge of the history is already alot for one person to handle. Since no one else has offered, I am willing to be in charge of Deity profiles, as well as assigning new domains and informing people when a slot is open. I will be able to update almost daily, usually about 4:00 United States Central Time. In order to avoid a conflict of interest, I am also willing to delete my deity and allow some one else to take over the position of god of Summer. This would leave the job of art (map and family tree) still needing to be filled, as well as the job of general referee. If anyone else has thoughts on this, please post. |
| Evil DM Mk303-12-07, 07:41 PM | I don't feel it would be nessissary for us to abondon out roles, especially since those most likely to take on the responcibilites are also those most liekly to want to do deiaties too. |
| riverrock03-12-07, 07:44 PM | That's not exactly what I meant.:) I just said I would abandon my role, because Domain assignment is such a powerful ability, and could be open to abuse. Keeping track of history and managing the art wouldn't be subject to this, and presumably the person in charge of general DM-ing could be over-ruled. Also, I am perfectly willing to do so. |
| Evil DM Mk303-12-07, 07:48 PM | Yes but if we can't trust you to be fair, why would we trust you to be fair? Hang on... |
| riverrock03-12-07, 07:51 PM | I'm just saying in general... You can trust me to be fair, it's just that it is a pretty powerful ability, and this would be a safeguard against its abuse. If you think it isn't necessary, we can continue on. BTW, I am trustworthy. Argumento ad hominen isn't a good way to decide how we should go about doing this. |
| Evil DM Mk303-12-07, 07:52 PM | Argumento ad hominen  |
| Janusunaj03-12-07, 07:56 PM | Well. Um. Make sure you get Heroes in my profile. |
| Ivellius03-12-07, 08:32 PM | I ended up on the waiting list, but Agent_Graves' departure leaves me with concerns. I really have nothing to add except to say that I'm still hoping to be a part of it if it relocates. |
| Iyestorm03-12-07, 11:27 PM | Um... hey. I'm on the waiting list. Just because I've never posted here until now doesn't mean I haven't been keeping up. You guys think it would be okay if I became the god of Neutrality and Balance? I could play referee (job 4). |
| Evil DM Mk303-13-07, 09:38 AM | Guys we need SOLID people to do jobs 3 and 4. By that I mean we need people who want to do it and noone minds doing it. AND SOON. I get teh feeling that some people feel they may have been shafted out of this proicess, this is not the case, we are simply tring to get everything moving quickly. You will note that the most important possition is as of yet unfilled. Please let us not allow this thread to die! |
| zzakk2to203-13-07, 11:34 AM | We need a more regulated timescale so that we know when a turn is up and other things like that because it will help the story along. Also I think any god that misses 5 or more turns and dont post to say why should be liquidized or turned over to another person. Along with that I think that a god should not be able to save up to 5 times their AP so that we dont have a god do nothing but holding for 5 or so turns then blast the rest of us away in a flurry of action. my points: 1. set day that the turn ends to help along the story 2. if a god misses 5 turns with no post or message of why they should be liquidized or turned over to another 3. a god should not beable to save more then five times their AP so they dont blow us away in a flurry of action |

| zzakk2to203-13-07, 11:52 AM | I would referee if thats all i would have to do next to average godness. I am not good with any of the other jobs so if its alright I could do it. |
| zzakk2to203-13-07, 03:44 PM | Just in I have taken up the job of referee. |
| Evil DM Mk303-13-07, 04:03 PM | New thread is here (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=808032) |
| Adrez Nesnsid03-15-07, 10:33 AM | LORDS OF CREATION ~ an experiment in cooperative world building Before the beginning there always was. I just wanted to write in to say how much I love this intro. It sounds like the kind of thing that you'd find in the Apocrypha Discordia. |
