d24478667

10-01-07, 08:33 PM
2 things: The cold based people are cold Vazalkyon.

I... would have to disagree. To be quite honest, that concept is completely out of the blue and pretty ridiculous and... well...

I don't know how to phrase this kinder than the game has been more fun in your absence.

Sorry, but I learned a long time ago that lying through one's teeth is disingenuous and it's easier to just rip off the bandaid.
Delfedd

10-03-07, 01:08 AM
I think that you should be Madness. You would make a pretty good chaotic crazy god.
d24478667

10-03-07, 06:18 AM
I have to agree with Destrieth here. And another thing that doesn't help your case, at all, is that Frostbite has none of those domains. And that as an intermediate god, you start with only two domains.

If you want to play, follow the rules.
Return of the Flumph

10-03-07, 11:55 AM
Welcome back, J-man!

I agree with the others. You will have to change your god quite a bit for him to fit the niche you wanted.

CombatMedic: Glykllivar's DVR is 18 now, and you should add coastmen to her worshippers. She also has a new form under the "typical avatar" section (giant shark/squid/crab monster). The Sage now has a metal, clockwork skeleton, and his avatar is a vortex of light.
Janusunaj

10-03-07, 01:56 PM
Should I be a god of vile darkness and madness?
Return of the Flumph

10-03-07, 02:43 PM
Should I be a god of vile darkness and madness?

Pick one or the other. We've already had a god with both (Father Blight), and so another one would be a bit redundant.
Janusunaj

10-03-07, 03:07 PM
Alright I'd like to be a god of Vile Darkness:

Daharak
Cleric/Wizard 20, 15 Rouge
DvR11
Alignment: Neutral Evil
Porftolio: Vile Darkness, Dark knowledge
Domains: Evil, Knowledge
Symbol: Demon tail arrow
Worshipers: necromancers, wizards, murderers, criminals
Favored Weapon: Mighty Claw
Home Plane: Enfermia
Destrieth

10-03-07, 03:22 PM
Okay... first of all, Nequelleden has domain evil. Secondly, you'd have to enter play as a lesser deity, DvR 6. Thirdly, no one has created you. Fourthly, I doubt Morintu would take kindly to some anomaly-based god just popping up and claiming a layer of Enfermia.

The domain open right now, and the only one, is Madness as expelled by Lexius.
Delfedd

10-03-07, 03:23 PM
I don't think that there even is any of those domains free. Why not just have the mad god?
Janusunaj

10-03-07, 04:56 PM
O.k. I'll have the Mad God! hAHAHAHAH!!
Camu

10-03-07, 06:06 PM
Yay, something small and puny to beat up ;)
Return of the Flumph

Yay, something small and puny to beat up ;)

Dibs.
Delfedd

10-03-07, 10:54 PM
I applaud your actions Destrieth.

Anywho. The witch hammer thing. I've got to figure out another creature that has been corrupted in the past to fill the role of Witch hammer. So that's still happening, it's just it's going to happen differently.
CombatMedic

10-03-07, 11:28 PM
Witch Hammer sounds cool.
CombatMedic

10-03-07, 11:32 PM
I may be opening new domains very soon. It depends partly on the outcome of Arteheyn's treaty proposal. If I have to burn all those AP fighting, then I won't get to do the fun stuff I wanted to do:weep: . We'll see.
Janusunaj

10-04-07, 12:13 AM
You know I think I'll just slip out. If I'm not having fun here its not my fault.
d24478667

10-04-07, 06:02 AM
Combat Medic, Frostbite is DvR 18, AP 7, Rank Greater, home is TyDyw.
Delfedd

10-04-07, 08:01 AM
You know what?

Our AP is ridiculous.

I propose putting a cap on it. No more than twice your Base AP.

What say you?
Camu

10-04-07, 08:04 AM
No way, I didn't went to all this trouble collecting it for nothing. I still have a plan with it all, and the results of the resent events will more or less influence if it happens soon or not.
Delfedd

10-04-07, 11:05 AM
Here's the catch. You can put up to 3 AP into artifacts. Even artifacts that you've already created. However, if another being touches it, it can activate the AP. This AP can't be used to attack.

I just don't like the idea of us being able to do everything. It's slightly annoying.

You could put more into one artifact, but it can't stand quite as much.

OR!!

Idea.

Do you guys remember how we wanted to create those cool places? (Well, me really, but who's keeping track?) Perhaps we can store our AP in those PLACES. Mortals may call upon one or two of the AP to do things like make the plants grow again, or call a drought on their foes.

Because honestly with all the divine power stored in our bodies I think that we would all explode in a giant divine fireworks display.
Camu

10-04-07, 11:11 AM
We are gods, we're supposted to be able to do anything.

and putting the AP in artifacts will only give a war about stealing each others artifacts

(edit: Oh you added more while i was typing my awnser

well if it has to be one of those then i like the second suggestion more then the first, having divine houses (aka temples and such) to store it

but anyway, keeping it as it is is fine by me too)
Delfedd

10-04-07, 11:20 AM
No, we're not really.

Do you remember back in the day we had Limited AP? I think that limiting the AP we have will certainly make things interesting again. Creation is a bit stagnant, and if people continually store up AP all that's going to happen is that someone is going to be like "Hey, I have three more AP than you do. I'm going to attack you thirty times."
Camu

10-04-07, 11:22 AM

Although I think that these investments should cost you something. Like a bank account. Maybe 2 AP.

Oh, and even if the building that houses the AP is destroyed, the AP is not lost. When creating the Temple or whatever, one must state the reason why the temple is at that point. You need one reason per divine level (Demigods need one, Lessers need two, intermediates need three, greaters need four). Each reason should relate to the domain or portfolio of the deity.

For example, if The Archcathedral of Morintu is set atop a high mountain, the reasons for it being placed there are Because it's atop a mountain (earth), there are many storms, (air and storm) and it is kept by the undead (Undeath). If more than two of these are eradicated after the temple is destroyed, the deity has a month to reestablish the holyness of the site.

Huh. I think I just came up with a good thing.
Camu

10-04-07, 11:44 AM
You know, I already have something for that: 'Endless Hunger'

it eats a lot => hunger domain
it's an ooze => slime domain
it's a force of destruction => destruction domain

......

well i liked it, but the reason thing might be just the thing to make it a little complex, keep it simple

10-04-07, 10:47 PM
Okay... first of all, Nequelleden has domain evil. Secondly, you'd have to enter play as a lesser deity, DvR 6. Thirdly, no one has created you. Fourthly, I doubt Morintu would take kindly to some anomaly-based god just popping up and claiming a layer of Enfermia.

The domain open right now, and the only one, is Madness as expelled by Lexius.

you are forgetting wrath
Destrieth (need help putting that into character)
anyway how is the apocalpse going to go down?

I think that it should be a place on creation. I mean, then we'd all just make our planes into these giant banks, and there could be no conflict over them. It'd just stay the same.
d24478667

10-05-07, 10:28 AM
So, one of the ideal sites for a temple of Frostbite could be on the edge of one of the Glaciers of Famine. Correct?
Camu

10-05-07, 10:36 AM
Well the problem with Ooulzoth is that it would even be more logic for his temple to be on the Shard Worlds, instead of Creation.
Most of his mortal followers live in that world.

I could build 2 temples, one on each world, each carrying half my AP
(I get 9 AP per divine month, which reflecs the countless followers he has in the shard worlds)
Delfedd

10-05-07, 10:46 AM
That makes sense. Go for it.

I'm going to say that you can also store AP in your Artifacts to make it more accessable, although you can only save 3 AP in this way.

And when you describe it, don't be lame about it. Make it awesome and great and whatnot.
Return of the Flumph

10-06-07, 01:49 PM
What's all this about Temples, now?
Delfedd

10-06-07, 02:55 PM
Well. We're thinking that you can only have up to twice your AP on your deity at one time. Instead, you have to create temples that can hold your AP. Mortals can call on some of your AP, probably no more than one without killing themselves. Things like making crops better and things.

For a temple to be Viable, you need to have one "theme" for every divine tier above Demigod. So one of your temples might be a giant ship (travel) sailing (ocean) and have it be protected by your avatar (protection). That sort of thing.

Also, do you think that a rebuild for Morintu would go much amiss? He's not neutral in any way anymore, and I don't think I've ever used his druid abilities.

Perhaps Fighter 2/Sorcerer9/Eldritch Knight 30... I don't know.

Also, Morintu's lawful evil and his home Plane is probably Enfermia.

For hypothetical new Madness god:

Why not use Tanner's Madness? He's been trying to leave the Mind Maze anyhow. Once he's seperated, a big Lovecraftian god, split from the fractured mind of the god of evolution.
I'll spend the AP. I just want a Master to Tanner's Doctor. Or maybe I want a Dalek... no, a Master. Definitely a Master.

What exactly did you have in mind, D#?
d24478667

10-07-07, 08:01 PM
Not so much ice, but maybe a few mutations in that area; give the animals wanderlust, maybe make a few of those draconic animals in Dragon Magic (the drakken). Or maybe make a small area more wintery. Something like that.
Destrieth

10-07-07, 08:09 PM
Hmm... Celestri is a tropical plane so it'd really stick out. There's not much in the way of animals since the only inhabitants are Verdants, Nymphs and faerie dragons.

I dunno, probably not. Celeste hid it away because she didn't feel comfortable with it, and probably wouldn't be too happy if it started altering her perfect world.
d24478667

Delfedd

No, I mean, why is there an aspect of your persona running around without you having paid AP for an avatar?
d24478667

10-08-07, 05:39 PM
Because he's not an avatar, actually. More of a personifaction. No use in deific combat, or anything. He doesn't go places instead of Frostbite, he doesn't carry messages, and what he wants isn't always what Frostbite wants.
Delfedd

10-08-07, 05:43 PM
So... what's the point of him?
Return of the Flumph

10-08-07, 05:51 PM

The temples should be an option available to anyone who wants to give their worshippers more power. Not mandatory, though; that would just needlessly complicate things.

Illeveun Bloodblaze

The yeti have an intelligence of two. They are cattle basically, cattle that they also use as servants and guardians. Each ezera that has a yeti has a small magical disk, and the yeti is attuned to follow the commands given by that disk. Mulitiple yeti can follow the same disk, and that is how the herdmasters drive their herd.

d24478667

10-13-07, 08:10 PM
Err... no. They're all Digital Blasphemy wallpapers (www.digitalblasphemy.com).

Speaking of the comic, I need bios from everyone who wants a page (please, one page per god. Avatars and dead gods will be put in as requested.) and interesting locales (the Coral City, Frostbite's Eyrie, the Arch-cathedral of Micheal, etc.) and images if possible. Digital Blasphemy is nice, as stated, and I'll link the members gallery (don't need a member to look, and I can use the small thumbnails for the panels) so you can pick images from there or other places. Also, I may have a few pages for artifact stats at the end. It would be cool, I think.

Two points:
1)Not a couple. Over a thousand.
2)We also have the art boards.

1. I somehow doubt he has a wallpaper of Glykllivar beheading Rytheal or Frotbite creating the lizardfolk.
2. That's kind of a lot to ask of the art boards denizens.

Now, I would be happy to illustrate some parts of the comic; I am good with landscapes, monsters, and animals, but human faces are hard for me. Unfortunately, I don't have a scanner. How could I get my art online without using MS Paint (and thus reducing the quality by a good nine thousand percent)?
d24478667

10-13-07, 08:52 PM
Touché. I don't know how to get it up.

And I wasn't going to make it all the history of Creation, just the gods and locales and such. Each god would get a page, or so, same with avatars. Doing the whole thing would take... more time then I have, at least.
Destrieth

10-13-07, 09:13 PM
Not to mention using digital blasphemy stuff is copyright infringement and thus illegal :)

So I'd take those pages down before the WizOs lock our thread
d24478667

10-13-07, 09:25 PM
And I quote from his copyright:

When posting my work on your website remember the following:
Images may be resized and/or cropped to fit your layout but I ask that you do not alter the images.

Under no condition will I allow any of my hi-res images to be posted without the URL watermark in the lower right corner. This rule is written in stone. If you see such an image on any website I kindly ask that you drop me a line and let me know for you can be sure that it's there without my knowledge.

So, I believe that if I can get the watermarks to show, then I am in the clear.

However, please do check for me, as I am not sure:http://www.digitalblasphemy.com/webmasters.shtml
Destrieth

10-13-07, 09:36 PM
I think you should probably use your own art; if it's not clear you're violating copyright laws then you should play it on the safe side and not worry about it.

Plus, it's tacky.

Instead of a 'comic' it might be better to create a series of 'event pictures' that display the mayor events of Creation.

This could be anything from something similar to:
- a cave painting
- hyroglyphic tale like in pyramids
- a mosaic picture
- event painting
- etc....

it would be fun to use styles from different cultures for the different deity's
Delfedd

Can't draw for crap. Or for carp. But I can draw carp, surprisingly enough.
I really hope my dyslexia didn't kick in right there. I can draw fish!

Yeah, I can do badly drawn stick figures, badly done Daleks, carp, and the occasional lung dragon. Peoples are not my strong suit.

But if there is one thing I can do, it's write! With the help of spell-check, of course.

Oh, I'd like Tanner to have a page! Or two.

Oh, and if they aren't technically "copyrighted", come about March or so, I'll have my own website (I mean a Giantitp.com type site, not an Angelfire page.) and I'd be more than happy to host some LoC stuff.

And it WILL be up by March. It's my seinor project. It needs to be done. The site, not the LoC stuff. That would just be cool.

Delfedd, this is exactly what I'm talking about, so I moved it to OOC. Kyselon has ezeran worshippers because his high priest is a vampire. Vampires create spawn. Spawn have to do anything their masters say. If master says, "Worship my god." the spawn will worship that god. And also, he has a few mortal worshippers because to worship him is a way to power. For my home campiagn I've been thinking of using the Ultimate Classes variant with Creation as the setting. Just because I can't remember all of them, which classes (normal 3.5) do we have on Creation again.
I know we have wizards, clerics, psions, fighters, rogues, binders, and druids... but I know there is a much longer list than that.

It's not a complete darkening of the world, just parts of it.

besides, oceanic deepsea life isn't that dependand of sunlight altogether, mre from vulcanic activity in the deep.
And since w&arm water creates currents with cold water, the parts of the ocean not covered can still providd energy for the covered parts, so that's why it wouldn't effect the ocean that much, except making it drop a couple degrees.

explenation of The Mist:

The Mist workes similar to the tides of the sea. At point where the Mist is at it's full potential chaos will have the upper hand, but as the mist slowly fades away, law will get the upper hand, until the spore tree blooms again and the cycle starts over again (like tides of the sea)

Now the mist doesn't really causes insanity with mortals, but most mortals don't understand it, and it's there own fear of the unknown that makes them loose it.
Staying to long in the Mist regions causes you to alienate from the non Mist zones, but the same thing happens to the native Mist creatures if they would leave the Mist (like the cloakers and detrachans etc...

However, while the normal intelligent races usually can't survive within the deeper region of the Mist, the denizens of the deeper mist also can't survive long outside the Mist. Both can survive in the border regions.
There will always be exceptions, where a powerfull resident of the normal world can venture within the deeper mist and some deepdweller within the light.

This entire event isn't a second darkening of the world, not at all, that's not ooulzoth's style. He created a chaotic event that changes and shifts constantly, letting both chaos AND law get the upper hand at some point, but in a chaotic way (sometimes the Mist stays only a decade or so, sometimes a few centuries)
It only depends on whn the spore tree blooms.

That is what chaos is all about, and it doesn't create conflict between law and chaos, everyone gets there turn, at random

The event only causes nothing to be static anymore, no empires that last millenia like in the old days. few centuries tops and then the cycle will washes all away and let it all start over again.

The darker and nastier part is just to make a clear border between the covered and free regions upon creation.

Hope this helps a bit to understand how the Mist works

And thanks :)

It was just Ooulzoth's time to shine :D

Got it. Could you explain the harmful effects of the deep mist, though? We are going to need a game mechanic for it, after all. Also, where do all the mist creatures go when the tree isn't blooming?
Camu

10-28-07, 07:04 PM
Well a large portion of them dies out, as when the rising of the mist starts, a lot of normal creatures will die.

It will be a balanced life cycle. The effects of the deeper mist on normal creatures will be the same for mist creatures venturing in uncovered lands. This would give game balance i think.

The terrible effect that normal creatures call The 'Rising of the Mist', is the same as what the mist creatures call 'Fading of the Mist', as both events mean that there form of life is about to diminish until the next cycle, fun no ;)

Effects of the Mist
In border regions, i would say you get a -1 penalty to every role because not feeling comfortable in it.
(this effect counts for both normal and mist creatures)

If normal creatures enter the deeper mist the penalty becomes -2 from the start. Every 5 minutes of exposure the effect gets an additional -1 if you fail a will safe versus 15, +1 for every extra 5min.
(so 15 after 5min, 16 after 6min, etc...)
Every time you fail the roll, you also need to roll a will save of 15. If you pass, nothing happens, if you loze, you become paniced and want to leave the Mist as soon as possible. Your ownly actions will be to move away out of the mist, both deeper and border regions.
This will continue until you are at a -5 penalty.

After that, the effect become more drastic. (I was thinking that if you manage to stay this long, you start to get the effect of one of the templates, like turning in a Mist creature, or a spectral creature)

This effects are also received by Mist creatures if they leave the Mist regions.
The drastic effect for them is that they slowly get burned by the long exposure to the light. Both sun and moonlight (actually the same light, one is direct and the other just reflects the sunlight, but hey ;) )

Hope this is cool for everyone

How do you determine whether the tree is blooming? Blooms every 1d100 years, for 3d20 years?(Just made that up) We'd also need that.
Camu

10-28-07, 07:22 PM
Something like that

I would say 1d6 x 100 would be about right, or 1d8 x 100
DM's can always choose to make one happen

I would also imagine that the mist never disappears completely before the next time the spore tree blooms. The world will be almost halfway be covered aftyer the tree blooms, until a few patches right before the tree blooms again.

I don't want to see this event as an evil thing, just as a way to balance law and chaos within Creation once and for all. It will make sure there never will be empires that dominate the campain for millenia, as those empires would be torn appart with the comming of the next cycle.
There might come a human empire that last several centuries, until it is cut into pieces by the mist. When this happens, a cloaker nation might rise until the mist starts to fade again and etc....
I just love the way this mirror effect is created. Nothing will stay forever now.

Also, the fear effect will make sure only the bravest and strongest of both worlds could enter its rivaling world. There might be a brave knight who could venture deep within the mist, and there might be a mist creature that can survive very long outside the mist, but these would be few and rare.

Anyway, i think it would make for an interesting campaign and hope you all like it ;)
Return of the Flumph

10-28-07, 07:42 PM
Penalties for the mist are a bit harsh, imo. Sounds like it would hamper gameplay a bit.

Consider this alternative:

Border Regions:
All creatures have their vision reduced to 30 feet and suffer a -2 penalty to spot and listen checks. Exhaustion occurs after only half as much exertion as usual on account of the thick air. Finally, natural healing (including fast healing, but not regeneration) is slowed to half its usual rate.

Deep Regions:
Foreign creatures do not heal naturally at all in these regions, and they receive a -1 penalty to all rolls. Every day, they must succeed at a fortitude save (DC 15) or...something bad happens. Like, a magical disease or a curse or something.

Basically, this makes it so the border regions are still fully inhabitable for farming and such, but the deep regions can only be safely accessed by high level characters and creatures.

Love it, it is indeed better. So I say we use your effect RotF

to be honest, i didn't really care that much for the game effects. What I wanted to create was change, a reason to clear the game board once in a while.
I waited 2 weeks before posting this. In those 2 last weeks almost nothing happened. The game got kinda stuck. I think the reason for this comes from the fact that if someone alters something, he almost always et punished; His effect get undone and his god usually punished in some silly way.
This caused i think ffor some to give up posting cool things.

So I hope with the mist cycles up this will change, because change is good

Indeed. I believe you may have actually saved LoC, Camu. Have a trophy :king:.

For awhile now, Delfedd and I have had a plan for a major world war, this time fought entirely by mortals instead of hordes of outsiders. I needed a catalyst to get it started, and you have just given me a good opportunity. Expect to see carnage fairly soon.

On a brighter note, Ooulzoth is seeming more chaotic and less evil by the day.
Camu

10-28-07, 08:06 PM
Well he may not do to much evil directly in Creation, but he's still a god of conquer and destruction on the Shard worlds, but that's another campaign. :P
Besides, most of Ooulzoths actions are done only because it serves him well, for his own interest. This still gives him a neatral evil edge

Uhu, now there's finally a reason for change, and that could indeed cause war, as food becomes scarce, power becomes devided, etc, all good ingredients to start a war eh

Okay. This is just a suggestion, but the war on Creation could also be copied in the outer planes, like one force has a crusade against the other, to explain why no outsiders are helping on Creation. Either that, or something else to keep the outsiders busy.

I'm wondering about this for later on.

Eventually Icoscol will want to set up a country. Seeing how we basically skipped over the "feudal" stage of society, This seems like the perfect time to do it.

Perhaps there is a magic item that one can make. (A "keystone") When it becomes part of a wall, the wall (or part of it or something) becomes enchanted. The mist cannot enter it, and mist creatures count as being in "deep regions." Only powerful mages (13 and up) can create these, and so a sort of feudalism will evolve.

After the mist fades, I fully expect the mist creatures to do something similar. Like mushroom circles or something.
Camu

10-29-07, 02:21 PM
I wouldn't realy see the point, the mist will never fade completely, nor will it ever take over the world entirely (more like 50-70% at max)

Mist creatures don't care about dying when the fading happens, they are part of the Mist, they are the Mist.

Nishruus would start to devour the magic anyway.

The Mist coveres mostly low populated areas, but because of this it will isolate dense populated areas from each other. I'm planning of drawing a little map to show exactly how it works, to give visual explenation :)
Delfedd

10-29-07, 03:52 PM
Well no, that's what i'm saying. Theoretically, Even with the Nishruus, the abjuration magic is still powerful enough to block out the mist. I think that outposts would be cool once the campaign starts. These big, nigh abandoned fortresses.

I'm not suggesting big, thriving cities in the midst of the mist. I'm saying more of a medieval castle, with big walls that no one wants to leave.

Also, I think that the campaign should start 10-40 years after the mist receeds.

Chaos gets a lot of power in this new world, give law something.

Also, why does it only cover low populated areas?
Camu

10-29-07, 04:58 PM
So i don't get lynched by the other gods ;)

what i mean is, it will form between citys more often then over them, but that's not a general rule, it fact some entire countrys might be swallowed entirely

If someone wants to play the merchant ezera or the castle goblins they are more than welcome to. I posted their leaders' names in hopes that someone would take over from there.

The Master Goblin (Schen) is grateful that his lands were not absorbed by the mist, and is trying to set up new trade routes via teleporters.

The ezera businessman (or woman; I didn't specify) is a cleric of the Sage who is trying to establish an ezera-controlled theocracy in those former states that he has access to. Illevean, you could bring the Lexius-worshipping ezera into this situation. It might be time for reconciliation between the two sects.

In case anyone was wondering, the mist wolves are immune to the negative effects of the Mists. They don't draw power from it or depend on it, but it doesn't hurt them. This is the result of an infusion of celestial essence from Britmara[ this also fixed their racial alignment as Lawful Good].

The rothe [cannot find the accent mark ;) :D ] can actually sense the Mists' proximity and movements at a fairly long distance. They migrate based on the ebb and flow of the mist. Rothe graze in areas that are either untouched by mist, or where the mist has come and gone. They may be seen very near the edge of the stuff, where they have little competition form other grazing animals. Otherwise, these are pretty standard rothe.

Arteheyn also created the underdark subspecies, but they are not common. Myconids keep them.

I may have missed some stuff on the updates. Let me know if I did.

Oh, and can we get sats for Michael/Artifact Lords? Thanks.

Auranis gets Artifice. Auranis has made artifacts, but so have other gods. It's more his patronage of technology and all the things the Ascended have been building with his help. I would suggest that paying a couple of AP for Teach Pop actions would be approproate to represent the assistance he has given the gnomes[ I recall that he actually had a lab on Creation where he was working with the gnomes to develop stuff- that might easily explain why they have things like submersibles and ornithopters].

Sage has been working towards Artifice for a long time. I'd say he qualifies for it, too.

There are still plenty of domains open...

Since Creation is such a divine-intensive setting, I've decided to stat out aspects for each of the surviving gods, as players will almost certainly fight (or aid) them at some point. Aspects have 3+1/2 god's DVR hit dice.

I'll start with one of mine. Give me suggestions for what yours should be like.

Aspect of the Sage
Medium Outsider (extraplanar, lawful)
Hit Dice: 6d8+20 (47)
Armor Class: 19 (+2 dex, +4 displacement, +3 natural) touch 16, flat footed 17
Initiative: +2
Speed: fly 30 ft. (perfect)
Base Attack/Grapple: +6/+7
Attacks: +1 axiomatic quarterstaff +8/+3 melee (1d6+2 and 2d6 lawful and disruption)
Space/Reach: 5 ft./5 ft.
Special Abilities: Disruption, Merge, Flash, Burning Mirage, Spell Like Abilities
Special Qualities: displacement, construct traits, DR 5/chaotic, SR 20, telepathy 120
Abilities: Str 12, Con -, Dex 14, Int 18, Wis 18, Cha 14
Saves: Fort +5, Ref +7, Will +9
Skills: 108
Feats: Spell Penetration, Flyby Attack, Dodge
Alignment: lawful good
Challenge Rating: 7

A human skeleton made of thousands of tiny gears hovers in the air. The metal skeleton is surrounded by yellow, transluscent flesh and skin, with a serene expression and androgynous features. The apparition holds a quarterstaff.

Disruption (Su): Anyone struck by the Sage's staff must succeed at a will save (DC 15) or be unable to cast spells for one full round. The save DC is charisma based.

Merge (Ex): The Sage can merge itself into the body of a Small, Medium, or Large construct, possessing it. The construct is entitled to a will save (DC 15) to resist. While controlling a construct, any damage dealt to the machine is divided between the two of them. The Sage has complete access to all of the construct's abilities other than spell-like abilities or spellcasting. Dispel Magic seperates the two if the aspect is defeated at an opposed charisma check, while protection from law allows the construct another save. The save DC is charisma based.

Flash (Su): The Sage can give off a blinding flash of white light. Anyone looking at him must succeed at a reflex save (DC 17) or be dazzled for three rounds. Those who fail the save by 5 or more are dazed instead of dazzled, and those who fail by 10 or more are blinded. The save DC is intelligence based.

Burning Mirage (Sp): Sage can create 1d4+1 burning spheres (caster level 6), all but one being illusory. Dispelling the spheres is impossible without something in the league of antimagic field or Icoscol's disjunction, but true seeing reveals which ones are fake. The Sage can only have one batch of spheres in existence at a time.

Displacement (Su): The Sage constantly benefits from a displacement bonus to AC equall to his intelligence modifier.

Spell Like Abilities (Sp): At will-dimension door, static image, dancing lights, ghost sound, magic missile, identify, magic circle against chaos, scrying 3/day-arcane lock, mirror image, mirage arcana, flaming sphere, dispel magic, true seeing, true strike, greater invisibility. Caster level six, save DC's are intelligence based.

It was recently brought to my attention that the mist covers most of the world and that everyone seems to think that it is a good idea for some reason. Had I been aware of this, I never would have rejoined the campaign.

First of all, this is a direct lift from several novels and a video game. Specifically, Steven King's "The Mist," (which will soon be a movie), the Pern series (in which the spores make parts of the land uninhabitable and change civilization drastically and reappear periodically), and a video game whose plot involves a a mist, that produces monsters, enveloping the land.

Then there's the fact that doing something like this would cause civilzation to collapse, not to linger slowly. If you'll puruse Jared Diamond's "Guns, Germs, and Steel," you'll find that civilization requires trade and agriculture to exist. The mists destroy both of these things completely. There is no way the world could survive in this situation.

Finally, there's the fact that this is a collabrative campaign setting. Forcing something like this onto the whole thing goes against the spirit of the thread. Especially something that is ugly, boring and arbitary, as the mists are. There are much better ways to apply a points of light or dark age theme to a campaign setting. After all, these situations have occured in real life without magical provocation.

And that's why I blew up the mushroom.
Camu

11-02-07, 04:49 AM
Never read those books i'm afraid

Well about the fact of forcing it upon others

Everyone enjoyed it, it revived LoC as it is, because almost nobody posted anything until the mist came long.
Everyone was enjoying it again. RotF's god Gly almost emediatly wanted to destroy the mist, but Ooulzoth could convince her otherwise. Most gods accepted it and even made there own creatures for it. Now all those will perish by Kyrinian's death star moon.

And now you just come back and blow the stuff of others up, destroying not only the tree but also ooulzoths island with chuul and ixitachitl on it.

So you suddenly desided that this sudden change 'was' allowed then.
Destrieth

I did not, in fact, enjoy it; neither of my gods were affected by it, so I didn't really care, but I definitely felt as a player it was pretty contrived and a rip-off of the aforementioned sources

alesian

11-02-07, 01:11 PM
I explained my reasoning, and you attacked me. I made no "accusations" until afterwards. But they are almost identical in design.

I was as much in my power to destroy the mists as you were to recreate them.

The mists completely change the game and shoehorn everything that has been created into a simplistic theme that is unsuitable for an RPG, and I know would completely undo everything that I had worked hard to develop with my creations and the themes that I was trying to develop with. Creating an area of mist was fine, but causing it to envelop the whole of creation was not, because it forced an idea that disrupted anything that did not fit with the last bastion of civilization theme.

Since you seem to be unable to adapt to what I did without getting upset or making a personal attack, I don't want to participate any longer. I have removed the information that I posted about the dreamrealms and the fey. You all are free to fill in the information to better fit the the sci-fi/horror theme that you feel is so apt for this fantasy setting.

Have fun with your copyright violations.

Keep the mist on a small scale, surrounding the island and occasionally making small, short lived incursions elsewhere. I think we'll all be happy with that.

Zebppir, when you created the nagas and mentioned that they hated lupins and were being placed in that vicinity, I assumed they would attack immediately. Apparently I was mistaken. I'll edit my post so you can use them as you wish.

Also, if you want to engineer Nequelledon's escape from her prison, we can talk about it in PM. I don't want to railroad; Glykllivar attacked because Nequelledon was not being subtle about her evil, and Alusia pointed it out. Be sneakier from now on, and Gly won't be able to get at you.
Destrieth

11-03-07, 02:12 AM
Besides, Zebppir, no offense, but I've been in this game long before you had it in your mind to even join; I mean, no offense, you wouldn't be playing if I hadn't decided to open up those spots

Believe me, Alusia is far from through developing

You know what development is, yes?

Change? Progress?

But maybe that's too hard to get through your thick skull

I'm sorry if I sound pissy, because I guess I'm a little annoyed; 'set on'? I'm a little offended, there as no compulsion here, it's simply in Gly's nature; she would have done if she had known. It's not a personal vendetta here, and even if it was, well

Tough luck, you teed off the big kid in the school yard. deal with the consequences instead of crying about it OOC.
Return of the Flumph

11-03-07, 03:40 AM
Destrieth, there's no need to be mean. Due to Nequelledon's not having done much since her birth, Zebppir is still effectually new to the game. If he doesn't understand why something happens the way it does, just explain it to him without playing the seniority card.
Destrieth

11-03-07, 05:01 AM
Compounded on the discussions we had yesterday maybe you can see why I was kinda blargh, playing damage control is not fun

My snarkiness and meanness aside, don't worry, killing anyone is pretty much out of the question without consent

RotF, I was kind of thinking that the Incarnum seeds were more like dormant, not actually capable of growing, just a connection to the Incarnum Tree.

Oh, and also, I don't think that there are any aquatic guardinals
Return of the Flumph

Noted about the incarnum seeds. I just heard the term "seed" and made an assumption. I'll fix it.

Oh, and also, I don't think that there are any aquatic guardinals

Will that opinion change if I stat them?

On another note; Illevean, what book are spellguards from? I've been trying to make an "arcane paladin" base class for a while now, and would be delighted if it already exists.

For reasons that will soon become apparent, I will be too busy to rally the good guys. If anyone feels up to the challenge, all of my good races (coastmen, civilized goblins, merchant ezera, dwarves, aquatic races) are yours to RP. Something to keep in mind is that the dwarves, goblins, and merchant states are already trade partners due to the teleport system built during the mist; this could serve as part of the foundation for your alliance.

I always wanted a reason for Tanner to become two gods, but I don't have the domains I would need for that to be good yet... unless the Clerics of Madness want no domains!

I'll see what I can do.

Oh, and I need Mist Born Creatures, Ningyo and Xephs added to my list, and Dragonborn Xephs added to d#'s list.

Oh, sorry about the consecutive posts, but I think some information on each of Tanner's species is in order.

Anophelii: The anophelii are a race split in two. The males are incredibly intelligent, but are unable to speak any language but their own, Anophelii. They tend to be wizards, and their verbal components are all spoken in Anophelii, a language that sounds like puffs of gas. Their sphincter like mouths cannot pronounce anything else. They are normally vegetarians, but they occasionally eat small chunks of meat. Male anophelii are found with all alignments, with a slight bent towards neutrality.
Female anophelli, on the other hand, can only think of food until they are totally full. They drink blood. Once a female anophelii has drunk as much blood as they need, they loose the power to fly, but become somewhat rational thinkers. Female anophelii never speak.
Only male anophelii are available as player characters.
Anophelii are found in Dragon issue 352.
Khepri: Khepri women look like human women with dark red skin from the neck down. Their heads are like two-foot long scarab beetles. They are expert artists, and with much practice, can learn to speak other languages. In order to Speak a language, a Khepri must pay double the skill points.
Male khepri use the stats for a small spider, but without the poison and with a troglodyte's stench ability.
Only female khepri are available as player characters.
Khepri represent Tanner as a Khepri with an androgynous body, dressed in white khepri attire and with large butterfly wings.
Khepri are found in Dragon #352.
Vodyanoi: Vodyanoi are humanoid toads with the ablity to shape water and with a knack for sorcerery. They are fresh water dwellers, and can breath in fresh water and out of water freely. They must stay moist. Vodyanoi are excellent dock workers: this is the typical vodyanoi lot in life.
Vodyanoi are found in Dragon #352.
Thri-kreen:Thri-kreen are the commoners of Kreen society. They see themselves as protectors to khepri and xixtxhtli-kreen. Indeed, a typical house of a kreen town has two female khepri, one male thri-kreen, two female thri-kreen and any number of xixtchtli-kreen. The kreen are all psionically active.
Thri-kreen are found in the Expanded Psionics Handbook.
Xixtchtli-kreen:Xixtchtli-kreen (Zix-ti-chit-lee-kreen) are the builders and artisans of kreen society. What gnomes are to humans, xixtchtli-kreen are to kreen and khepri. Indeed, any of the races of Tanner would prefer a xixtchtli-kreen over a gnome, due to their preference of Tanner over Morintu and Auranis.
Xixtchtli-kreen are as Thri-kreen with the following changes:
Small Size
No Chameleon power
Jump Bonus is only +15
Psionic Repair Damage as a psi-like ability 1/day
Favored class: Artificer
Life Masters: Life Masters come from many races, but can all tell who each other are. Life Masters never betray each other.
Life Masters were sated in the second thread... somewhere...
Magebred animals: Found in ECS. Better animals.
Cactacae: In Dragon #352. Medium size plants with powerful build. They are desert dwellers, but have begun to go into human settlements.
Changelings: They hide in human settlements. Found in ECS. They are natural shapeshifters, and prefer to slide from view. Some, however, have embraced their changeling heritage. SOme by becoming actors, some by being bards, some by being... ladies of the night, so to speak.
Grindylow: In Dragon #352. Large eel based abberations. They like to trade. However, thier biological magic is unnerving. This has caused them to become a larger force in sea-based trading. Since they can fly and swim in any sort of water, they also make good go-betweens with many trading posts.
Weaver: In Dragon #352. Large size spiders with baby hands, they can alter reality as they wish. (As a wish spell, but any spell replicated over 2nd level takes 2 hours to cast. 2nd level and lower takes a standard action.) They kind of walk whereever they want, ignoring gravity even. All are chaotic, dream-like beings. Tanner always had respected Kyrinian.
Mist-born Creatures: In the RP thread. They are reminders of when the Mist covered Creation. They have a tendancy to have red hair/nails/chitin/claws. They are very acids and poisons based.
Xephs: In the XPH. They are artists who love wandering and running everywhere. They want to see and evolution in their own nomadic culture with the places they visit influencing them.
Ningyo: Psionic mermaids with a good omen attributed to their births. SOmewhere in the RP thread.

I'll finish the rest later.

Just a small question, does it have to be another good vs evil kind of war? Why not a bunch of factions against each other, without the alignment kind of thing (law vs chaos, good vs evil)?

This is indeed going to have several factions. The reason I specified "forces of good" is because there are already two (possibly three) evil overlords preparing their armies, and I felt that at least one of the factions should be good (or at least neutral). Another evil one could work, but that might end up make our world a little too evil-dominant.
d24478667

11-17-07, 01:30 PM
Or, even if there was an overarching army of good, there could be different armies in it. Say, the army of Frostbite, which could specifically be trying to take out Morintu's forces.

Okay. Be ready to get your factions going, because the war has already begun. Keep in mind that this is to be a primarily mortal conflict, with little divine interferance. I recommend not spending more than 2 AP per month on the war.

Lexius looked upon the psions, and decided that they needed a god. Their old one had abandoned them, and they needed guidance. Lexius concentrated, and soon saw the visible strand that was psionics. He took that, manipulated it and changed it. He made a new type of leyline, or more like six types. Like the other leylines, these were ever present and ever changing and mulitpling. Away from the control of Morintu, those with psionics would now draw their power from that leyline, which Lexius would care for until he regained his stewardship of the other leylines, and would feel at peace. The ones who had already opened up their minds to psionics, and those who would in the future, would now do it to channel their power from the leyline to manifest. Lexius sent his avatar to spread the word among the psions of the changes he had made, that he expected no fealty what so ever, but that he did this for the good of the world. Lexius sent Kalitroz to ask for volunteers among the ezera who would open up their minds to psionics, and to pass that psionic trait to their descendants. Those who chose to do so were then altered. Lexius was pleased, and he rested.

This is the latest post regarding the psions that i can find, its from page 102.

It would appear at this point that Lexius controls the flow of psionic power.

Your faction doesn't need to have anything to do with Ooulzoth. My faction has absolutely no connection to either of my gods (indeed, they'd likely oppose it; Gly and Sage are more likely to help Tanner's mortal army than mine).

I'm against bringing in more shardworld creatures already. The mist was too recent. Use anyone who exists on the mortal realm right now; if they are good guys, my gods will probably help you a bit (even though my mortals will oppose you).

also have a question

where abel living or undead creatures (forgot what it was)
alchemyprime

11-18-07, 03:29 PM
Either way, I'm lumping them into the Undead category. Because Undead is Evil in Tannerese.

As for no shardworld creatures, though my weavers aren't of the shardworlds, I am doing the same thing with all of the Weavers changing gifts simultaneously. The army has two Weavers out of the hundreds that exist throughout the planes.
And the thing about Weavers is they change thier mind easily.

Also, glad to know that I have a halfway decent chance of getting some support from Gly or SAGE. Sure, SAGE and Tanner may not see eye to eye, but what else can you expect from LG and CN?

Sage is still LG, right?
Space_Dragon

11-18-07, 03:43 PM
Abels are living, but they create undead to use as hosts for their larvae. Basically, their entire race is composed of small-time necromancers.

I'm actually not sure about Sage's alignment. He is either lawful good with neutral tendencies, or lawful neutral with good tendencies. I'm inclined to say he's still LG, but others on the thread disagree with me.

Edit: accidentally wrote "undead" instead of "abels." Fixed.

In case it comes up , here's my take on crossbreeds:

Gnolls can interbreed with lupins. The resulting crossbreed is a flind [shorter, tougher, smarter gnoll].

Humans and elves can obviously breed to produce half elves. There are half elves in Kilensanah and nearby lands. Probably uncommon or rare elsewhere.

Humans and orcs can breed to produce half orcs. This has happened extensivley in Azer lands. Many of the slaves and freedmen are half orcs.

Halfings and gnomes.... who knows? The Ascended were originally halflings, perhaps they are interfertile? I'd say Defledd would be the best one to answer this.

I bring this up because I want to know how you guys feel about crossbreeds and half- creatures. They are super common in D20, not so much in older versions of the game. Took me a while to get used to it.;)
Space_Dragon

11-18-07, 10:59 PM
Awesome idea with the flinds; I was actually trying to think of a good race to represent gnoll/lupin hybrids, since I've been planning on the corrupted lupins meeting and breeding with them for a long time now (as I said on the main thread, great minds think alike).

Flinds are the answer I've been looking for. Thanks.

Also, it bears repeating: there is a perfectly logical and plausible explanation for all the bizarre things that have been happening with the lupins. Its just a well-kept secret.
CombatMedic

11-18-07, 11:26 PM

The gnome thing makes sense, although in truth the gnome should be in between halfling and ascended.

Anyway, why would the evolving army be against Icoscol? No one even knows it is Icoscol, there are a total of four undead who are currently visible in his new "empire," which is in truth simply several tribes who have banded together.

Also, the abel's undead prescence, while it isn't barely felt, is not the most disrupting source of undead. That belongs to Siladio and Wraith Mountain.

He is a god of chaos. Theproblem is, sometimes the insanity part of CN comes out.

He also can't detect incorporeal undead well. SOmewhat like how Death couldn't see Lobsang in Theif of Time. He knows of the Wraith Mountain, but a bunch of new abels would upset him more as it feels like an evolution in the wrong direction.

Well, I imagine the Green Hand terrorists are out of business. The whole city where they were operating must be filled with wraiths. Most of their intended targets are dead. Space Dragon, all I can say is that what you are doing is awesome.

Thanks. I also like that you are making elves a proactive force of good, instead of just sitting around in their forests like in most settings. Especially once you made their army logistics more believable.

Anyway, I'm trying to make Baern a wandering, charismatic force of discord and evil, sort of like Randal Flagg from The Stand. I had been trying to find an opportunity to use him for months, until the lupin moot gave me an opportunity, and the mist gave me a target.

Now, to clear up any confusion about the whole Kilensanah intrigue:

-Dengar is a doppleganger servant of Baern, who faked his own death after corrupting the Kilensanahn lupins. He was rewarded with half-fiend status for his great service, which is why he had damage reduction when he met the abels.
-Alua is dead. She was replaced by another doppleganger. If Selevern had tried withdrawing her to Paradise for questioning, he would have immediately discovered this.
-Corinlas is the daughter of Dengar and Alua (the real Alua). During the pregnancy, Baern possessed the imprisoned mother, infusing the baby with his vile essence, and Alua was simultaneously infested by a psurlon. Alua died during childbirth, and Corinlas is a half celestial, half farspawn, unholy psion doppleganger (I know).
-Baern has been gathering support from various aberration and monstrous humanoid races for generations (that's what those mysterious little bits of dialogue in my posts have all been about).
-The Priests of the Stars were psurlon ur-priests in disguise, who were teaching their blasphemous arts to the Tablnasian common folk. The psurlons are the mainstay of Baern's forces; losing so many during the wraith attack was a crushing blow for his powerbase.

Hope that answers everyone's questions.

Took me forever to find where I posted those!

That has 42, the Life Pool (which has become a bit of a Maguffyn (spelling?), I'll admit) and the Life Masters.

In short, the Life Masters were my attempt at creating a group of psionic humanoids that are completely immersed in all societies, and see themselves as protectors of life itself. Some, however, have a "for the greater good" idea behind it.

They had a plan of non-interfereance for a while, but let that go once Lucky hit her fifth life and started taking control.

Of course, if you lowered the number of regenerations by one and gave them all time and relative dimensions in space machines...

I made then after I saw the episode where the Master was at the end of the universe as Professor Yana, okay? I thought it'd be cool to have a race that essentially could keep coming back as long as they weren't wished out of existance.

Again, they are a template that went on humanoids.

Or, to be more specific, a group of humanoids that feel like Tanner chose them. They used to think they were evolved past everyone else, but when other races like the khepri, kreen, and Mist-Born appeared, realized that the god of Evolution still watched over the planet for new evolutions. So now they try to lead and guide the other creatures created by Tanner.

They all choose a title, such as He Who Fixes Things, or She Who Tends to the Young. However, these titles are lengthy, and so they normally carry three names: Their Given, Thier CHosen, and Their Abbreviation. So, He Who Fixes Things Might have the given name Alan, but calls himself the Mechanic for short, or Alan to his friends.

I posted the link above. Essentially, humanoids with Life Water (water of the Life Pool, not a drink in the supermarket produced by Sobe) instead of elemental water in thier elemental makeup.

(Life Water is suffused with Positive Energy, btw. A pint acts a potion of Cure Light for an hour after being taken from the pool. It also tends to taste a bit like a Frostbite's Eye, which in turn tastes like a very sweet satsuma or tangerine.)

I certainly agree. I was trying to think of a way to make things bigger, but it's nearly impossible without rebuilding the world and retconning everything.

I noticed it earlier, but I'm a lazy person and didn't want to rebuild the entire map.

I'm sorry, Space Dragon. I truly am. There are differences.

Life Pool Water:
Acts as a Potion Cure Light
Gives a bunch of bonuses if bathed in.
Tastes like really sweet satsumas.
Tanner can keep coming back from it.

Life Water by Sobe.
Comes in a bunch of flavors.
Pumped full of vitamins.
Probably should not bathe in it.

To be fair, probably not long until a grindylow starts marketing watered down Frostbite Eye juice as Life Water.

Please note that Britmara's curse upon the fallen lupins does NOT prevent them from breeding with the gnolls to produce flinds. It prevents them from breeding with each other to make more lupins. Big difference. This may actually help explain the sudden appearance of a lot of flinds in the next generation.

don't create the artiface domain anyone or the artificer class I have major plans though I know Sage and someone else will also get it.
d24478667

12-04-07, 08:45 PM
Auranis. And I was actually going to have Auranis make artificers, seeing as he already made Renegade Mastermakers. A kinda reverse engineering thing.

Or did I already do that? Checking...

Hmm... nope, Auranis didn't make artificers. You know its harder for each sequential god to gain a domain, right? So it will be harder for Nequelleden.
Zebppir

12-06-07, 05:27 PM
I know that but she is the first artificer
d24478667

12-06-07, 06:16 PM
But...

She never did anything that shows she is one. Sage has been around longer, doing more to earn it. Auranis showed up after, still actually did stuff for it. Saying she was the first artificer and that she's going to make the class, in my opinion, is not going to cut it, especially because its harder for her anyway.

NOTE: None of this was a personal attack, just pointing out some of the facts.
Space_Dragon

12-06-07, 06:26 PM
Agreed. You'll have to do something artifice-related before you can get the domain. It was almost a year before Sage got it, and he was making machines from the very beginning.

There is always room for another deity. Unfortunately, this campaign setting will be reaching its conclusion in just one or two weeks, so you might not have a chance to do much.

However, once we've tied Lords of Creation up, we will be launching the sequel to the project, Shardworld, without too much delay. It will be a brand new campaign world, in the same meta-setting as Creation (ie, you can travel between the two ingame, and some races and gods will be common to both settings).

In short, you can start a god in Creation and get to play for a little while if you want, but either way make sure you sign onto Shardworld when it gets going.

Since the LOC#2 is about to finish, I was wondering if i could add some spice to the local rumors.

Shortly before it ends, i am planning to have the new general of the Psion forces kill and absorb the power of the mortal god. It is not implausible, the Crystalline dragon is made of solidified Psionic energy, and the King doesn't have the Crystal domain yet (i believe there is one, and if not, we can create one). The Dragon-Lord is violent and evil, (unbeknownst to others).

The Dragon cunsumes the God and gains his power. A war-mongering god-on-earth.

I thought i'd post this idea before i just implemented it. Up to you guys.
Delfedd

12-14-07, 04:24 PM
I personally don't like it all that much. Others might disagree. A "Mortal God" is kind of an oxymoron, and I don't like it much in the first place. I did like the giant king, because that was implemented well. However, the idea of a dragon GOD is not a nice idea.

Also, I'm back.

Also, I've had an idea for "heralds" but not quite heralds like in core D&D. I tried to start something of it with the Griphon... but yeah.

Michael is a god of bloodshed, greed, and malice. It makes sense that he would try to convert Butcher, and it also makes sense that Butcher would choose to follow him.

That said, the Evolving Army (both before and after Michael's intervention) is getting a lot more interesting lately. Salt is cool.

Artheyn's recent teach pop actions ammount to a gradual uplift of friendly civilizations across a big chunk of Creation. I imagine the long term effects will be:

-increased population growth

-increased urbanization

-increased trade

-increased popularity for the clergy of Arteheyn, especially among farmers and the urban poor

Areas where Arteheyn's priests are persecuted get nothing from all this, as the priests don't operate openly in hostile territory. Anyone who accepts the priests can gain the benefits of the teaching. Good vs evil is not a factor in this. Of course, hostile civilizations/regions may eventually copy the new developments. This will take considerable time, however- during which the friendly regions will reap the greater benefits of cooperation with the clergy of the River Goddess.

If I made 42 (artifact whip) and Butcher's Sword (artifact longsword) those are worth an extra .5 DvR each, but the Binder Tomes, Life Pool and Salt aren't, right?

As I understand it, weapon/armor/combat artifacts that the god can carry into a fight count towards effective DVR in a fight with another god. So, no, Salt and those others don't raise your DVR in a fight. They have other uses, obviously. If I am wrong, someone please correct me.

We don't really know anything about the calender[s] used, or even the length of the year. I'd guess a solar calender would be the norm, as there are multiple moons- which could get confusing with a lunar calender. Maybe 13 months in the year, to mirror the 13 'months' in the divine year/age?

Only artifact weapons that you wield count as Artifacts. Since Butcher has the Butcher's sword,

Also, there is no logical reason for them to have the extra .5. it doesn't make sense. The bonus is for when the same person makes them together on purpose, not a general bonus.

So what you meant to say is that "In combat tanner is Effectively DvR 6."
Anuvrix

12-21-07, 12:14 PM
Wow, an ancient world of grand peoples, and not a single annual holiday. I'm suprised the people worship us at all....:weep:

We could make the calendar and the holidays, for reference post them in the races and cultures section. A few holidays in the warmer months, with a considerately larger amount in the winter.

One important and flavorful one could be a few days of no bloodshed. The day that all people take example from their gods and spend a week of nonviolence. No combat allowed. Really quiet, serene, and beautiful. Till some Evil Traitorous Bastage uses it against the others, perhaps a full-out invasion? could be fun.:D

With Creation drawing to a close, I think its time we think about how we are going to finalize this setting in a playable form. Before we can kick Shardworld off, we should have Creation polished, finetuned, written up, statted, and including all the houserules and tables of contents that a published setting entails.

We should start another thread on this forum, and request the Wizos to sticky it for us. We'll decide who should write what, how many chapters it needs, all that jazz, and write Creation up. This includes history, geography (with maps), details about different cultures and civilizations with sample NPC's provided, rules for all the artifacts, statblocks for the likes of Icoscol and Maga, and, of course, a very detailed section on magic and deities.

Who wants to write what?
Camu

12-27-07, 04:39 AM
Well I have semi-finished notes on many things ooulzoth made, from stats for the demodand lords to voidlings etc, some sketches from maps.....

Maybe everyone can write about the stuff there gods made (unless they want someone else to do it), since that would be the easiest, since the person who created it knows best what he would like the creature to be etc...

(I also have stats for the voidships and a semi finished system for the symbiont magic i was working on, but that's more for shardworlds i think)
CombatMedic

Britmara is going to create artifact. Specifically, Talleran's soul will enter the sword the lupins are making for Dala. It will become a full blown artifact, with bane qualities against Corinlas and other cool powers. I'll detail it soon. If anyone has suggestions for stats, I'd welcome that.
Space_Dragon

12-30-07, 04:50 PM
Definetely give it the power to grant true seeing on the weilder; Corinlas and Baern are both notorious shapeshifters. Either Doppleganger Bane or Evil Outsider Bane would work against Corinlas (since she's a half fiend). I'd suggest the latter, so it can work on Baern himself as well. Protecting the weilder from scrying is also a must.

Hold up. Delfedd, I meant 9. His base DvR is 8 (I raised it from 6 a while back, started at 6. During the whole meeting on Living Twilight a while back). The two artifact weapons I thought were a +.5 general, but specific is okay too, Tanner is still at 8.

I knew not to count Salt, the Life Pool, or the Tomes. One belongs to Frostbite anyway, and the other finds it's way across the planes as it exchanges hands.

I would like to join Shardworlds, but if I should be Tanner or someone new is still up in the air for me. If I do go with new, I was thinking of perhaps a NG deity of learning or messages or something... maybe teaching?

Still, would like to throw myself in there.

Well that's not entirely how i envisioned it when I created shard worlds, and I hope I still get my say in the matter

Agreed. Shardworld was Camu's idea. He should have at least as much sway over the rules as Delfedd and I.

Camu, we've been discussing Shardworld over AIM. If you'd like to make this easier, provide your screenname so we can confer with you.

As we have not done the Trial yet, and there are a few more things to wrap up, We will continue until Saturday. However. On Saturday, I personally will stop posting, and anything else will not be "cannon." Shortly after that, Say, the next saturday, Space Dragon, Camu and I will have the Shardworld thread up. So try coming up with some original ideas for deities, and then we will start before the begining.

So, Britmara blew most of her AP helping her followers and buffing herself out a bit. I think it would be reasonable to claim both the Exorcism and Repose domains. What do you guys think?

Also, any issues with gods/domains/etc I can fix? Updates?
CombatMedic

Artheyn has lots of points left!

Combat Medic... We don't have lots of time. Can we just go to the trial for now?
Zebppir

I agree I want this done with
as for Nequlleden I shall miss her; may she go out in a blaze of glory!
CombatMedic

01-04-08, 10:27 PM
Yes, please move on with the trial. I won't slow us down. If I post actions for Arteheyn's avatar, they will not require any response from other players' gods.
CombatMedic

01-05-08, 06:22 PM
So, we are extending play for a little while? Just till Baern's trial is over, yes?

I still have a ton of AP for Arteheyn to spend. At first, I figured I'd just create a whole mess of new critters, but that is kind of lame. I don't want to overpoulate Creation, especially in one big burst. On the other hand, there is little point in saving AP past the end of the game, is there?

If no one objects, I'm retconning one of my posts. I won't use the AP to affect anyone else's stuff, or to attack anyone.
Space_Dragon

01-05-08, 07:07 PM
Fine by me.
Delfedd

01-05-08, 08:42 PM
yeah. That's reasonable.
CombatMedic

01-06-08, 12:53 AM
Thanks guys!

So far, I've had Arteheyn create a temple, bless the New Empire [helps both her and Morintu, doesn't harm anyone else directly], and create [or discover] some new species on her own plane of Refuge. I'm not going to create any new humanoid or intelligent species on Creation, because it's late in the game and we already have lots of races in play. I'll spend the rest of my points before the game ends.

Ok, I made a small prologue for the Shard World campaign

Our story comes from the Book of Absaul-rote.

It is said Absaul-rote created the multiverse the same way scribes make a book, each page being the story of a world. In the early times of such a world, the Writer would keep an eye, and if needed, correct or aid the flow of that world, until he deems it stable enough to move on.

Many pages where written this way.

But it wasn’t always so, it is wispered that the Writer didn’t always work like this. For you see, the first page of the book is misssing. Torn out.

In ancient times the Writer was known as the Wanderer. He created the first page, but left it untouched, letting the story write itself.

Then something unforseen happened. It is unclear what exactly happened, except for those who were there.
Some say a great cataclysm happened, others say the Wanderer got angered by what he saw there, and in a desperate attempt, he tried to rip the page out of existance, correcting his mistake.

The page however, wasn’t torn out completely, and the story continued.

And it is at the beginning of this very page that our story begins.....

(it still might get some small alterations for when we finally start)

Only 2 weeks left.....

I've been sick for the past few, and probably won't post in Creation again.

Might be interested in joining Shardworlds, but don't know at the moment.

so interested now can't wait though just one question how is it that the beings from this world was able to migrate to creation? It seems to be seperated by the absoulte creator to me anyway like I said interesting
Delfedd

01-07-08, 01:51 PM
Well, you're just going to have to wait to find out, aren't you?

We're going to put up the rules and such on Wednesday, and the game will start on Saturday. Seven deities will start at the begining of the game, and more deities will be generated rather quickly until we have all the slots filled (unlike in Creation)
Camu

01-07-08, 01:51 PM
All the worlds created by Absaul-rote are located in the void (which is similar to space)

The shear distance between those worlds keeps most from traveling from one to the other.

(with world i mean a prime material plane + all its related plane)

Looks like the trail is winding down. Arteheyn is pretty much done. Britmara just threw in he two coppers.

Anyone lese find he has a lot of AP left, or is it just me? I had been saving it for a massive powerplay, but Arteheyn doesn't need to do that anymore.
Camu

01-07-08, 02:15 PM
ooulzoth has a big pile of AP too ;)
Delfedd

01-07-08, 02:36 PM
well, the fact that we have AP can be a measure of how involved with our followers we are.
Anuvrix

01-07-08, 04:00 PM
Who's compiling all of the material from LOC?

It's going to be difficult to write the history, all we did here was chronicle the actions of the gods over many thousands of years. The actual history of the people would have much much more in it.

Who ever is doing it, good luck and god speed!

I think that the easiest way would be to take the Eberron route and to use the Ages method.

PS Does anyone object if I add Exorcism[from Eberron Campaign Setting] to Britmara's domain list?

Yeah, I've never seen her do anything to warrant it.

Sorry I fell out for a while. I was returning from a vacation on Thursday, and I have been too sick to think straight since. I'm currently full of NyQuil, Sudaphed, Ricolas, Halls, and antibiotics. I always get sick during a vacation! I really hate this!

Oh, still up for Shardworld though!

you have a chance to make your last post. This post will tell us what Tanner is planning and such.

Zebbpir... you're going to have to start getting used to writing in paragraphs. I could understand "Got digested" and that's about it.

As an FYI, if you don't divide your posts into paragraphs for shardworlds, we will ignore them.

Sorry about cutting off so suddenly someone messed with my wifi connection...

Anyway,Nequlleden was supposed to shatter her divinity to fuel The Song of Utter Damnination which was supposed to do nothing. But alter to fit the person's taste in question and would remain in that form.Until a conflict happened then the power of the song would activate and buff all persons in conflict but would infuse the person's wounds with its evil. Rendering healing impossible and upon death the song would absorb the person's soul
Now I was going to turn her into a Great Evil (elder evil) but she now is eaten/absorbed into Ooulzoth.

this better???

Note about Britmara's actions on page 157:

As for Britmara gaining Exorcism, I was hoping the bit where she researched rites of exorcism and then taught them to her mortal followers would be enough. Perhaps not quite enough, though. No matter. I'm perfectly happy with things either way. Her followers still have access to rites and lore they can use against feinds, with or without acess to a particluar domain of spells.

As for the rest, I'm done. Both goddesses have accomplished most of their short term goals. I had a lot of fun. Thanks for participating, everyone.

here I shall show you

The Song of Utter Damnination
Great Evil (Elder evil)

Symbol:the shattered sign of Nequlleden

Background:When Nequlleden shattered her divinty she became something far different something far worse.......

signs:Faint a slight music can be heard in the distance yet it is very pleasing to hear and bolsters anyone who hears it;Unforunately wounds are more difficult to mend requiring more energy and disrupts fast healing but not regeneration

Moderate:The music is stronger yet still perfect to the listener.Wounds are far more difficult to heal at this point regeneration stops all wounds healed by magic reopen.

Strong:The music can no longer be denied.Causing all wounds to be untreatable and causing bleeding wounds and imparting a +2 unholy bonus to all combat stats and causing resurrection to be far more difficult as the song partially absorbs the person's soul.

Overwhelming:the music is so strong it causes continuous damage, all damage is treated as Unholy or Profane damage. At this point all souls are totaly absorbed making resurrection impossible as well as imparting a +5 bonus to all combat stats.
Delfedd

01-09-08, 01:42 AM
So wait... when people get injured they gain stat bonuses?
Zebppir

01-09-08, 09:47 AM
yep the point is to get themselves killed faster without them realizing it the song's doing but this is just an idea.

For right now Nequlleden's going to be camu's personal healer and secondary power source like a undectable sentient potion
Camu

I think this 'squares' system is kinda stupid

I like the team/solo thing, that's cool, but having an arbitrary map and grid makes it feel less like a method of setting generation and more of a tactical board game
Camu

having an arbitrary map and grid makes it feel less like a method of setting generation and more of a tactical board game

That's true. Well the rules aren't definite yet, as we plan to start on saturday.

Edit:
Ok, the whole squares thing is tossed out of the rules.

Movement speed is still in there, as it is to determine how you move around in the world, as gods in this world are bound the same way to it as mortals
Destrieth

01-09-08, 07:08 PM
I see no reason to have a system devoted to it though, just use common sense if you really want a 'limited movement' (though I don't really think that it makes any sense since not only are we deities but if we take a spellcaster class we can teleport)
Destrieth

01-09-08, 07:59 PM
hey, also. I plan on taking storm and air and being a team deity, I kinda want to form an elemental pantheon so if anyone wants to be an elemental deity you should truck with me because it would be cool. you know, fire, water, air and earth.

just sayin'.

okay, so, Delfedd and I were talking.

We have some good ideas to make this less like a board game... namely tossing out movement speed because it's erroneous and not in keeping with the theme that we're friggin' gods.

So we decided you can spend creation points to get another domain for 2 CP, or a permanent DvR for 3. Power costs 1 and can't be raised beyond character creation.

We decided to remove the evolve physically option because it should be a flavor thing instead

basically what we're going for is Creation Points get awarded in the game by the majority thinking actions do merit CP; they're kinda like divine experience points, basically. you can buy domains and DvR with them. think that's cool?

This all looks so... cool?
