I've started work on a long and dark campaign in the world I made earlier.

I need a wee bit of help fleshing out the details and such.

It is based off of a poem that i wrote a long time ago. It has some parts from small different writings that noone seems to remember.

Across a waste of tossing sea,
Sails a ship, with no land to see.
Where no dragon's wings of late spread,
All searching if a land be dead.

When rise again bodies that die,
Never again to rest or lie.
Till touch the dust from hallowed grave,
Rise souls they unwillingly gave.

When the seas boil, mountains move,
The sands heat, and man will prove.
The walls will fall, and fire burn,
The land of men will never learn.

No time to turn, an eye blood red,
It's time to burn, nothing is said.
Land has been sighted, fear has spread.
Of the foes of all, this man lead.

With rage the world of men is fraught,
But where is here, when there is naught?
Kill with secrets they unravel,
Into death they all will travel.

When freed black flames sear the masses,
Freeze the world and all it's passes.
Wrought by man, and those they'd slaved,
These heroes in a world unsaved.

I wrote this when i was about 10 or 11. The basis that i have is:

Some extremely evil guy is searching for a small marble that contains a fortress and army that could conquer all of the universe. The Pcs are tipped off and quest to find the marble. They endure a ton of s**t and eventually find it. Not they must destroy it. Unfortunately, here is where the poem begins.

Another evil guy is looking for a different item of great power, over a sea on a land lwhere a civilization once was. He finds it there and the plagues start. When anything dies, it comes back to life in a 2d4 rounds, unless consecrated grave dust is sprinkled on their corpses after they've been killed before they come back. If it is not applied in time, the body comes back and they have to fight it again.

The seas start to boil and froth, while some mountains burst forth and others crumble away. The deserts heat up to the point where pools and evel lakes of molten glass can be found. Several cities are destroyed by these calamities, and strange fires leap up in seemingly random spots.

The evil guy finds the item, and the real trouble starts. and the moon of Evocation appears closer and meaner.

The nations are at each other's throaghts and start several wars. the Pcs put the marble quest aside and search for the other 8 items of great power. (there are nine in total, including the marble. they do not know that some have already been found) they search and find two, and at the area of the third find it to be gone. The items are not all in evil hands, a paladin has one, but the three others that are found are held by an evil rogue, fighter and wizard. all bearers of such items must be found and killed.

This is a reference to the origin of these items, telling where to find the temple that they belong to. This temple is guarded by an ancient order of paladins, which has fallen into disrepair and disdain. The Black Flame Citadel is the temple, surrounded by a fortress that once was powerful, but now is not. After all of the items are found, they are made (as if by some all powerful force) to go to the Citadel. The Paladins won't let anyone enter the Temple, and attack all who try. They end up only fighting a small number, as the others are all arriving at the same time. No trace of the others is seen until they enter the temple. Here the battle turns into a free for all, player vs player, player vs good-guy, good-guy vs bad guy, bad-guy vs bad-guy, and player vs bad-guy. Big awful mess.

The dead ones all come back to like after only one remains. When one dies, the item of power he holds moves itself to the one who dealt the killing blow (the blow that drops him below -10). The one who wins has all of the items and can chose what to do with the world. If the paladin wins, he smites evil and sickness and all "plagues" that paladins think need to be eliminated. If one of the evil guys win, they decide to take over the world. If the players win, it's up to them (while i remind them with gently about the marble). The only way to destroy the marble is to use the other 8 items against it. Meanwhile, the enemies of the victor all ltry and stop him. Now, the other players must either defeat the now super powerful pally with help of the evil guys, defeat the evil guy and friends, or defend one of their own.

When the marble is destroyed, the PCs are tleported inside of it, forcing them to do a long and massive dungeon crawl and do battle against the undefeatable army. If they reach the very end, they fight the general and find another marble. It appears to be the same one they had before. This one allows transportation between the prime material and this fortress. The army they fought are those who failed to reach and defeat the general over several millenia.

They now have an unpopulated fortress, and are faced with the falling moons. (will post link to world soon)

The people of the world attribute the moons falling to the events that occur here.
