I have a tendency while DMing to describe the killing blows on monsters, and we had a monk recently join the party and I'm coming up a little dry. I've had him connect with a shot in the lower back snapping the guys spine with a punch also had him puncture someones lung with a cracked rib. Any other ideas?

Keep in mind he's using gauntlets so I try to center any damage descriptors to punching.

A blow anywhere on the back, top or sides of the head could break the skull and damage the brain.

Punch the chin hard enough and you'll break the neck.

Twist the head, ditto.

Hit the lower breastbone and you'll make a cartilage spike break off into the heart.

Hit higher on the breastbone and you'll jolt the heart out of its regular beat.

Any use?

Bashes an opponent's head into some piece of scenery? Think Jackie Chan/Bruce Lee for inspiration.

Good idea's I think next time I'm going to have him punch the guy right in one of his kidneys hard enough it actually makes an auditory pop as it ruptures or something like that but good idea's gents.

Rips the enemy's heart out with his bare hands. (good if used against the BBEG, dramatic)

You could give the Schwarzenegger response, "You paunch him in da stomach, and break his spiiiiine!"

I once was playing a monk and got max dmg on a crit hit and my DM told my I evicerated him with a karate chop, then choked him with his own intestines so hard that his head fell off. A little extreme but it actually happened and I felt pretty proud of myself after that one.

Talk about his guantlets slicing through skin and flesh as if they were actual blades.

Breaking someones windpipe so that they can't breathe and of course, round-house kicks to the face.

Kicking someone in the legs so that they fall forewards, then slamming them on both temples with your gauntlets. One attack doesn't have to be described as one hit.

Grabbing someone by both jaws and ripping them apart.

Dropping, spin kicking someone on the back of the legs, then slamming their wind pipe with your heel when they hit the ground. Hard.

Also, if these don't work, play lugaru (http://wolfire.com/lugaru.html) unarmed you get all sorts of interesting kills, and I personally like it way more than most fighting games(no pre defined combos, have to be inventive, a few moves, all easily usable, no health bar, instead the screen darkens, and a free trial. You are a rabbit, so ridiculous jumps can be excused, and there are some. Its really fun). One move from that game that is pretty cool is where you jump above someone on a wall, then kick off, down at an incredible speed, twisting in mid air to drive your foot into someone. Its hard to pull off, but it is awesome.
