I apologize if the following thread is in the wrong forum.

In my homebrew campaign, I am currently using a videogame world, to model my campaign world after it. And with this territory, comes creating new monsters that don't exist in the MM's. And so here I am, looking for help. And, I will most assuredly be back looking for all of your assistance. But first, I aim to tackle a series of monsters modeled after gargoyles.

In this campaign setting, mages who helped build a great catacomb of sacred crypts would cast incantations on stonework of gargoyles to guard their ancient crypts. There are two main kinds, one uses melee attacks and dashes at intruders. The second kind materializes a jade green thorn of magic and hurl it at it's enemies. Both kinds should be able to fly, albeit not necesarily very well. And as a boss at the end of this series of catacombs I need to design a larger version, with *don't laugh too badly* laser beam styles eye attacks, and some melee abilities. This guy should really put some hurt on a second level party.

Here are my blueprints for the melee style gargoyle.

Stonework Guardian
HP - (1d10+5)
AC - 16 (+3 Dex, +3 Nat. Armor Bonus)
Touch AC - 13
Flat Footed AC- 13
Movement Speed - 20 feet
Fly Speed - 50 feet (Fair Flyer?)
Attacks: +2 Claw (1d4+1) [x2]
Full Attack: 2x Claw Attacks

The "Jade Guardian" would have similar stats, but should have some kind of magical projectile ability, perhaps using the Magic Missile profile, just in a different form. But how should this be limited? Or should it?

I am still working on the Stasis ability, where they can pass as statues to ayy inspection, except for magical of course and then come alive when living beings pass through. Perhaps I will allow the players to discover some ancient passcode to disarm them. Any ideas?

Also, I could all kinds of advice on the "Ruby Gargoyle" BBEG.

Thanks much guys.

I know it's homebrew campaign material but you might get more responses in the monsters area of the boards.
