Alright. I should start by saying I like Kobolds.

With that said, my players are going to be an Aasimar Druid, Aasimar Paladin, Goliath Barb, Tiefling Barb/Wiz, and a Half-Dragon Elf Ranger. The entire party has a LA of +1 (the Half-Dragon is now just Draconic), so I'm just treating them like a LA of 0 (for experience purposes), but the monsters will be stronger than ECL 1 chars.

I plan on running a mountanous campaign. I'm not sure how's it going to start out (I think they'll live in a village in the mountains, and the top of the mountain will be a little sanctuary place, but not sure yet), but... basically, eventually I want them to get to Kurtulmak's collapsed mine, but it won't be entirely collapsed. In fact, there's a Kobold village there, working hard at restoring the mine.

Now, I want the BBEG to be the avatar/herald of Kurtulmak, but I also want the PCs to interact peacefully with the Kobold village. Basically, any pointers on how they get to the mine and anything after?

I'm thinking... something to do with a dragon. A green dragon. Anyways, suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

To interact peacefully, they would have to either be captured, and persuade to be free. or try to pass off the half dragon as a dragon in polymorphed form.
