| sonofdrizzt08-26-07, 04:31 AM | Hello! Just thought i'd finally get my campaign world out in the open and catalouge my PC's process within said world. Firstly: The name of the world (and the main empire, and the capital of said empire) is Albion. It is your basic D&D kingdom, except with some differences. The Kingdom, in public, is controled by a Human royal family lead by Emporer Maltan Arvadose. It is actualy headed by the Draycals, a race of draconic humanoids who have been on Albion since before the Elves. To immagine the capital, immagine Minas Tirrith, exept next to the sea, and a city at the base plain. Next in line is the Elvish Kingdom of Kelathien. It is actualy part of a three way alliance with Albion and the dwarven underkingdom. It is lead directly by the elves and located in the gigantic forest located above the Albionen border. The Dwarven underkingdom, Boldavhain, is located in a mountain range some leages west of Albion Capital. The mountains themselves are wild and sparsely settled, but underneath them belongs to the dwarves. And the last nation in this section is Jhallapa. It is a coastal and island dwelling nation of aristocrats, merchants, pirates, and the leading faction; the Wizards. The Wizard Academy of Jhallapa is the most common mage school in all of Albion, and teaches all forms of arcane spellcaster. Warmage, Wizard, Wu-Jen, Duskblade, Beguiler, and it even has a section for the dark invocations of the Warlocks. Next: Furia is a land of Evil and is actualy split up into several different sub-countries. There are three main ones. Furia, wich is sorta run like Thay, only Royalty does have complete control. Then there is Mogal, badlands of the chaotic races; Orcs, Ogres, Goblins, yadda, yadda. And finaly, our MAIN badie nation......Romazera. Immagine Rome. Now make everyone a walking dead. It is lead by a single, insane, cruel Goblin Lich. NOW! I know what you are thinking...."A Goblin lich controls an entire nation of undead?!" Well yes he does, and you would be a fool to underestimate him. Anyway, Finaly: The Frontier. The Frontier is the reaches of the north, were pine forest stretches on to mountain, and mountain stretches on to a cold, icy wasteland that no one has ever crossed. A select few people live in the Frontier, mainly settelers from Furia (sub-country) and the Albion Alliance. Only one war-tribe is known to live exclusivly in the Frontier: The Scaramanga. A large group, nearly 7,000 strong, is a raid band, filled with the savage races and the outcasts of socioty. Their power comes from their main force; a cavalry numbering over half the complete number of men in the band. And adding to this fact, the rest of the force are made up of Shamen, Warmages, Warlocks, and as a secret weapon......A band of Griffon riders are always near, just in case anything happens. Other than that, there isnt much to tell. Next time I write it'll be about Races, revamps on Races, and how Races interact with eachother. Layta |

They don't need to sleep, eat, entertain themselves, they just "Blehhhh, BRAINS!". I could definitely see a lich ruling an area the size of a country, but I just can't imagine a country run by undead. What would the point of it be? Here's a thought, they were once a powerful warrior nation that battled the surrounding evil countries of Furia, then they all died due to some horrible catastrophe/war. The lich came, raised them all, and now commands the undead highest up the ranks to do his bidding, yet, to most living in Romazera, THEY DON'T EVEN KNOW THEY ARE UNDEAD! I don't really know how you could do that, but it would be one of the best roleplaying experiences ever once the NPC zombies actually realize they are the walking dead and have become what they used to fight. Mummies are unheard of in my campaign, so....wateva. Thanks for the feedback, bro. |
| sonofdrizzt08-27-07, 12:27 AM | Races Core Races Humans: Humans are just like in the book; wide ranging and adaptable. Although most live in Albion, and a large quantity are good. The only difference that I have for Humans' feel toward other races is that they see the savage races in a little better light, and allow most to prove themselves. Oh, and i almost forgot! Half-Orcs are seen in their eyes as nothing more than a big human. Dwarves: Dwarves in my campaign are not as much like the ones in the PH. Many different clans have different ideas about how dwarf socioty should be run, making the major lawfulness of dwarves not quite so. Oh, the majority are, but some run more with a "Human openness" level with other creatures. Others are run like the tribes and clans of old. There is a variant of the dwarf race coming up in my "Variants and Additions section. Elves: High Elves live in Albion, and are not as common as Wood Elves. Wood Elves are the basic core Elf for my campaign. They are your basic wood elves, only more friendly and they have some different atributes from MM Wood Elves. Thier variant will also show up in the section. Wood elves see Humans as a young, amusing race, Dwarves too stoic or too wild, Half-Orcs not so nice, and the small races as helpful little creatures. Unlike my campaign's High Elves (Who are rather uppity and snoodish), they feel pity for their Half-Elf cousins. Gnomes: Gnomes are VERY different! They are the world's engineers and alchemists. Gnomes aren't as charismatic as in PH, but are still a chearfully friendly race. Their Illusion obsession is not in mine, but instead gain bonuses to many different alchemic and building tasks/skills. As for their feelings toward other races, they feel no real emnity nor alliance with any of them. They are more of the friendly merchant goin to all sides of a war going "I GOT NEW GUNPOWDER!!!". Half-Elves: Half-Elves are exclusivly half Wood Elf. A High Elf wouldn't even THINK about touching something as BORING as a human. They are still the diplomatic race that 3.5 made us all fall in love with, but they are not as welcome outside Albion. In fact the Half-Elf diplomacy bonus doesnt work in Furia at all. Most Half-Elves dont even become adventurers, as most take up positions in Albion's and Kelathien's halls as diplomats and heralds. Half-Elves with a penchant for war usualy joins the Imperial or Aliance armies. So Half-Elves are ok to play when you wanna be a peice, not a player. Half-Orcs: Half-Orcs are alot more accepted in Albion, and even Kelathien. They are the free-agents and hunters of the Empires, and are employed at a very high price to do their jobs. As the Gnomes, Half-Orcs see other races as employers and sources of income. Those who arn't are barkeeps and bouncers. Halflings: Halflings live with the gnomes, in thier hillside homes. The two races are actualy very closely related, and some even crossbreed. The idea of a halfling is still the same, except more hobbitish. Friends and foes are the same, except for the close relationship with gnomes. Thats it for now, its gettin late. |
