SO it seems one ofthe hardest parts of making my world are the names of the places and the name of the world itself. I have been making by using draconic words from the races of dragon book for the continents, but the world name is bugging me.

I have Marcrada as of right know but thinking maybe Throethel.
Suggestions or opinions on which of these two are better?

Why would the world even have a name?

Unless the main civilisation is advanced enough to be looking at the stars and figuring out that their planet is only one planet in a solar system and said solar system is one of a billion solar systems, there is absolutely no reason for your world to be referred to as anything other than "Earth" in whichever language is most present.

Since you've set about naming places in Draconic, which means there's a historical reason why everything has dragonspeak names, I suggest calling your world Edar (Draconic for "earth"). Otherwise, Marcrada leads to less pronunciation-based confusion that the other one.

Name it Bob.

I'm with him, if you want a good name, find the word Earth in another language and use that. Edar is a cool name.

I disagree.

I'm running a game with my world's name of Saevia. It is the only one in existence and the "world" is flat and has defined borders - the ends of the map.
I think that having a name other than Earth is a good idea because it adds another level to the game. I agree that it should be something that is easy to say but other then that its really preference. I would try and figure out what kinds of sounds or letters you like most as the name of the world and start there.

Good luck.

ps. I have also named the continents but the names of those are rarely used outside scholarly uses. What does it matter if the world has a name even if its the only one? In my world calling something earth is saying it is dirt or ground not a planet. This goes similarly for Oerth or the other DnD names.
