Would it be ok to post the beginning session of my campaign on here to get some help for an ending?

Thanks, Cheers! :D

I don't see why anyone would object. Could be interesting to read.

Thanks. Its a bit long, but here it is:

This is extremely simplified, if you want the entire thing for some sick reason, pm me.

Minataurs, at a time when the world was very young, were not the foul beasts known today, they were refined creatures, with combed and trimmed hides, clipped and filed hooves, and clothes. ;) They built wonderous cities using powerful magic and ley lines (place magic).

Short time later... The ley lines shifted, and the cities quite literally collapsed. Civil wars broke out, and many Minataurs turned to Cults, and the promises the demon masters made, for protection.

One of theses cults summoned a powerful demon lord, on of the most ancient demons (ob'ryth, or something like that...). But its power was so great, it threatened to destroy the world. The cultist, realizing thier mistake, trapped the demon in a pocket dimension, sacrificing themselves. In order to bind the demon in place, the Minataur cultist sealed parts of its essence into magical artifacts, hiding them away in the farthest corners of the world.

Now, hundred of years later (my world is still pretty young), the demon stirs, the magic binding it weakened by the shifting of the ley lines, and the demon lord is straining its bonds, pushing them to the breaking point. Its release is near at hand.

Taldir, a warrior hero from the deserts of Scraet (sorry, no map to post), has been recieving visions of an overwhelming entity, and its destruction of the world. As the vision nears an end, a horned being, composed entirely of golden light appears, commanding him to find a champion, forge a legacy, and discover the gate to the demon's realm.

There is more to the campaign, but it is not germane. Basically Taldir searches for the champion, and finds a suitable candidate in one of the players.

Taldir asks, after helping the would be campion in battle, for him to join his quest. The end...

To me this seems like a kind of anticlimatic ending, and any ideas would be very appreciated. Also, any ideas on where to go from here would be nice.

Thanks, sorry for the length, Cheers! :D

One of the churches/religious organizations in your world who are viewed as being pure and good somehow become involved. They do everything in their power to help the PCs, and the head of the church even tells them of the story about the demon being locked away - the head of the church explains to the PCs that the church has been researching and gathering information about some sort of armageddon for years upon years; they have an extensive library. The leader of the church claims that the only way for the return of the demon to be stopped is by gathering several holy artifacts and bringing them back to the church; afterwards, the church can summon the holy champion of legend.

The Truth!: The "pure" and "good" church is not so pure at all. They high priests of the church are -in reality- worshippers of the demon who was locked away. Although they claim to be helping the PCs, the truth is that they are manipulating the PCs into retrieving the components needed for the church to free the demon.

The main downfall to this would be that it is possible for the PCs to figure out what is going on before the end. If that happens, don't fret; just roll with it. The high priests will probably spy on the PCs using divination magic, so they will know if the PCs catch on to the church's plan. The church will then take alternative steps to retrieve the artifacts. The PCs can then either confront the church directly or try to get to the artifacts before the church can get them. One problem the PCs might have if they confront the church directly is that the church -viewed as being a force of good in the world- could claim that the PCs are hereticts and turn most of the world against the PCs.

One major question I have in reading through this is: Why the assumption that when Tadir finds the hero amongst the party the entire thing is at an end. It seems that all you have described is the starting hook for a much larger campaign which would have at its conclusion, the finding of the gate to the demon realm and the hopeful defeat of the demon lord.

Am I missing something? If I was going to do this, I would also switch it so that Tadir was searching not for one person in particular, but a group. Kind of the "Light Warriors" to borrow a FF1 concept. This way you wouldn't break up the party, and they would all have a reason to go on the epic adventure. Incorporating great tasks and tests of faith as necessary to complete the heroic cycle.

And no worries on length, this is relatively short compared to many things on this sub-forum.

Actually it is just an adventure hook. I just wanted a way for the players to meet up, since their from completely different parts of my world.

Then I needed somewhere to go from there. The church idea is really helpful, thanks!

Cheers! :D

Sounds like you have Weapons of Legacy...

Build up as emmisaries of the demon get involved, use some political maneuvering by the allies of the enemy.
