Basiclly what I'm looking for is population range by city type, or something like this: Small City = 1,000 - 10,000 residents, Large City = 11,000 - 50,000 residents, Metropolis = 50,000+ residents. Thank all of you in advance for any and all advice you may offer. |

In the early middle ages a metropolis was probably no more than a few thousand people, but today we would call that a neighborhood, and a true metropolis like New York City has several million people. |

| tommy2k12-24-07, 01:45 PM | Thank you for the added info yellowdingo, but it won't really be of any use to me. You see, the map of my world is rather small by comparison to say the map of Fearun (an oversight on my part at the beginning) so only cities of a certain population appear on the map. This leaves plenty of opportunity for creative admins to step into the world and base games in smaller locations that may not appear on the map. |
| yellowdingo12-25-07, 12:06 AM | Just remember though: Every citizen of a community requires 25 acres of forest for firewood (1/2 acre per year, 50 year regrowth cycle). - 640 acres per square mile. Production harvest: 17 acres per year per wood cutter example: Pembury (900) This large village is situated in the heart of a forest. As a consequence it has put considerable stress on the environment. FIREWOOD & DEFORESTATION 900/2=450 acres of forest timber per year 450/17=27 woodcutters For Pembury, the forest will be cleared for firewood to a four mile radius - the reach of a village for fuel. |
