| link5109-09-07, 11:42 AM | im a fairly new dm (couple months) and am leaivng n 5 min for another mission in this hopefully sussceful campaign. so ill make it short the main idea is that the pcs dont know it ye they learn it in this mission, they come accross the black dragon orb (currently in a world of undead)(look in major artifacts in dm guide). then at the end of the dungeon they get tasked with recovering all the orbs and destroying them. iwas thinking that there would be one orb for each world and that the world reflects the dragons nature of the color(if u understand this im surprised...). i could use some help in making some adventures for another world as this world will be done with soon. any ideas would be nice thanks |

Lots of board-surfers will NOT reply just based on the fact that you didn't observe these. 2) I hope (for you and your player's sake) that you aren't waiting until five minutes before you play to finalize adventures and how you plan to tie a series of adventures into a campaign. 3) Homebrewed campaigns (typically) require extensive work, good planning, and preparation. As a new DM, I'd suggest starting with an established campagin setting or modules until you get the hang of things (there are enough options/rules out there to drown an experienced DM/group). 4) Check the map-a-week section (sorry, not computer savy enough to post the link for you here) on this site. There are TONS of dungeon maps/tiles to be had, and they're free!!! Best of luck to you and your game group. Glad to see there are still new gamers out there, especially those with enough interest to invest in homebrewing a campaign! Later. Tembo. |
| link5109-11-07, 05:31 PM | its mainly i cant spell that well, and that I'm used to playing online rpgs where u use stuff like g2g, ect. and ive been working on this campaign setting for a while but the players wanted to do something with the dragon orbs so i decided that it would work to put some in. |

Depending on how you wish to structure these worlds or how they reflect the (assumably) chromatic dragons, you would naturally keep the green orb in a forest, blue underwater, white in arctic conditions, etc. They can be obtained through a dungeon crawl filled with strategy, all-out battle with a foe, or may even take some political maneuvering and high amounts of roleplaying to simply convince the orbs keeper to do the right thing and let it be destroyed. Ultimately it is up to you as the DM (ref.: the black lettering in my signature), though myself and I'm sure others are willing to offer ideas that you will eventually expand on and use as you get your feet wet.
