As I do not know much about all the space science and such I was hoping you could tell me how that may affect other aspects of the world (calender and such). Also what may things like having more than one moon orbiting a planet do? Thanks! |

As for the temperature due to distance from the sun, you must remember that the difference in temperature during season change, is due to a slight tilt of the axis, and a short change in distance to the sun. If the planet is constantly at a fall or winter like state, with periods of either warmer or colder temps., the plant life could be severely different, if trees were found, they would be short and thick, undergrowth is virtually nil, and therefore, animal life would be minimal, consisting of larger beasts and thicker hides and furs. Players would be different, tending to be shorter and stockier, dwarves are probably around the most dominant humanoid race (they are naturally short and can endure colder temps.) Elves are reclusive and only dwell near the equator, where it is warmest. Halflings are nomadic, living solitarily or in small groups. Orcs are the second most populous race, with half-orcs being common but still maybe looked down upon. The civilizations would consist of smaller city states, with a couple large cities (which in a magic world would have a heating system). Monsters would remain statistically unchanged, but the warm temp monsters are more rare, possibly even doubling the cost of Certain materials. |

Your the DM. You don't need to give a reason. but if you really want to use the solar system idea, it would be darker due to increased distance from the sun. Also longer years (Not nesesarily longer days). |
