Tomorrow, I'm running a session for my party in which they lay waste to a werewolf den. The majority of the pack is out hunting while the PCs are planning on sneaking in and assassinating the king of the werewolves, a massive hill giant werewolf, appropirately named Maugrim.

I've got a few battles planned out; the guards, a werewolf druid with some companions, a couple of dire wolves and the fight with Maugrim himself. However, I've still got a few encounters left and I'm looking for some decent noncombat encounters I can put in to challenge the PCs further.

The den itself is an abandoned temple of Ehlonna that the werewolves' have taken residence in.

My party consists of a fighter/paladin, a cleric, an enchanter, a ranger and a rogue. Any ideas?

Do you think of encounters with non-combatants or about fights other than melee?

Perhaps they encounter an escaping prisoner that confuses them as guards? Or something along the lines of that? Just some input.
