| Magon05-08-07, 02:22 PM | hello. i would like to play a game in the world of tamriel. but i need help on races, stats and what's not. please, help me, i'm not weary good at that kind of stuff. when you post stuff i like i will edit this post at put it here. |
| Charlie_PFC05-08-07, 03:38 PM | I've thought about this before but never got round to actually trying to do it. I think you'd need new subraces for the player races and lots of new enemies and armour types. Weapons are pretty much the same except, maybe for the special materials some of them are made of. The whole pantheon of deities is already more or less available in the games/merchandise. |
| Magon05-08-07, 04:08 PM | and mechanics for soultrapping, sidgil stones, bound *items* and the deadrich aretifakts. but yeah all of this is what i need help with. |
| Charlie_PFC05-08-07, 05:05 PM | Hows this for a start anyway? PEACH Argonians This reptilian race, well suited to their treacherous homeland of Black Marsh are perhaps the most misunderstood race in all of tamriel. Rather than offer any insight of their traditional, tribal culture, Cyrodilic-Argonians tend to integrate into the more traditional Tamriellic culture, dispite often fitting into only the lower echelons of society. Personality Argonians tend to be Mysterious, brooding looners. They often have a very primitive outlook. If you have access to PHB2 check out the tribal character background, orphan and renegade personality archetypes and the exotic and naive personality traits. Physical description Argonians stand about the same height as a human (Imperial) but weigh slightly less. They're scaly hide colour ranges from light green to almost black, usually with more colourful patterns around the eyes and cheeks. Relations Argonians tend to be rather quiet and brooding and often try not to draw attention to themselves. They are often looked down upon by members of the other races, especiallyImperial and Altmer, who they try to avoid or (ocasionally) impress. Argonians often find themselves in rivallry with, and at odds against Khajiit. Alignment Argonians tend slightly towards nuetrality. Lands Argonians hail from the lands of Black Marsh. Religion Argoniams often worship nature deities. In black Marsh they are often lead by shamans, high level druids who use the infamous hist sap to stregthen thier bond with thier diety. Names Many Argonians inherit slave names from their ancestors, these names tend to emphasize physical attributes of that families bloodline. Others have more traditional Black Marsh names such as: Male- Jeetum-ze, Mahal, Deek, Tun Zeeus, Weebum Na. Female- Rana, Na-jee, Bajeen, Numeen. Adventurers Argonian tribal shamans are usually druids although ocassionally a shaman can be a cleric of a nature deity. Most other Agonian adventures are barbarians, rangers and rogues. Most arcane spellcasting Argonians are wizards- often Illusionists and abjurers. Argonian racial traits +2 constitution. -2 charisma. -2 wisdom. Argonians are tough, but have a hard time getting on with other races, often hindered by their primitive outlook. Humanoid. (Reptilian, Amphibious)Argonians can breathe both air and water. Medium size. Base land speed 30ft Argonians tails give them a +4 racial bonus on balance, jump and swim checks. They also recieve a +2 racial bonus on disable device checks. Automatic Languages:Imperial (Common). Bonus Languages:Black Marsh, Undercommon, draconic, goblin... Favoured class: Ranger Level Adjustment: +0 |
| Charlie_PFC05-08-07, 05:07 PM | Hopefully I'll get time to do Bretons tomorow, they should be easy, pretty similar to half elves I reckon. |
| Anuvrix05-08-07, 05:10 PM | I also have ben toying with this idea, but never did any thing bout it. There would be alot to convert over, but once you get a system, it should be easy. I have hardly any ability with converting information between two completely different systems. |
| Charlie_PFC05-08-07, 05:14 PM | Me neither, that was my first attempt. I think they're pretty balanced though, the skill bonus should make up for the imbalanced stats (I hope). |
| Johnny_Angel05-08-07, 05:20 PM | One thing to remember is that there are no Dwarves. I can't remember the exact story, but in Elder Scrolls III they explain that all of the Dwarves were killed somehow. Would Oblivion be considered a parallel material plane? It seems like it would be, but I'm not entirely sure. Most of the history and fluff can be found by reading the various books you find in the game. |
| Zousha_Omenohu05-08-07, 05:26 PM | Not to mention the fact that the dwarves weren't exactly dwarves either. The Dwemer were another kind of elf and were merely called dwarves by some giants or other, the details escape me. |
| Anuvrix05-08-07, 05:28 PM | The tribunal did it by accident, turned em all to dust. poof. The Dwemeri were highly advanced. which reminds me, we should probably stat out some dwemer centurions, and maybe even some of the huge ones that dont actually move. (the giant pieces you find all over) Akulakhan:schemes: |
| Magon05-09-07, 03:02 PM | Hmmm the nature deities.... there are the nine and the deadra picnes (such as azura and mehruns dagon) but who else are devine biengs? |

| Zazel05-09-07, 04:15 PM | Other questions: Will you change the magic system? Tamriel doesn't work with mages and priests. You simply use magic and healing is magic. Will you add a system that uses souls? will you copy how to create magical items? Will you keep alchemy? Will you use classes or create new ones? ... |
| Magon05-09-07, 05:50 PM | not sure on healing.... trough if i'm not mistaken the "priests" dont get magic from the gods? alsothe soul gems.... i'm not sure... i'm thinking of a system where they only take a part of the soul (an extra lvl lost on death) and they you use the XP from that level as the XP for your enchantments....this keeps the CR=power from the games and it's relativly easy to use.... of i will keep the classes, trugh some are re flaverd or banned (i'm strivig to keep it as close to normal dnd as posible... and i dont think it'll be weary hard to figgure out..) |
| Towel_Ninja05-09-07, 06:57 PM | I cant remmember where but i swear in the game oblivion that something was said that Argonians are good with either pickpockiting or lockpicking (cant remmember which >.<) |
| Charlie_PFC05-10-07, 12:44 PM | I cant remmember where but i swear in the game oblivion that something was said that Argonians are good with either pickpockiting or lockpicking (cant remmember which >.<) True, they get a bonus on the security skill. Maybe they should therefore get a bonus, +2 perhaps on disable device checks. Also perhaps they should have the amphibious sub-type instead of just the hold breathe special ability. But would these bonuses be overpowered on a LA+0 racewhen added to the other special abilities? They would probably IMHO fall somewhere between the Dwarf and Half Elf in terms of power. Think I will add the changes to the Argonian post above. Thanks. |
| Magon05-11-07, 01:01 PM | the next who post something balanced and use full will get a dragon or a cookie, they chose |
| Zazel05-11-07, 01:58 PM | The planes: Aurbis: Aurbis is the physical universe in which the Elder Scrolls Series takes place in. Not only does it contain Nirn but also the Planes of Oblivion, the Void, the Unvoid, and the outerrealms. Aetherius: The mysterious realm of Aetherius is the spirit realm, where all magika resides. It is home to all immortal spirits, even the few mortals who have found ways to make themselves immortal. It is home to the Aedra, the imperial gods. It lies beyond the realm of nirn, beyond the planes of oblivion, beyond Aurbis. Battlespire: Battlespire is an academy for great battlemages. It trains the elite battlemages that serve the empire. While its origins are unknown, it is known to be located somewhere between the world of nirn and the planes of oblivion. Oblivion: It is a common misconception that oblivion is the Elder Scrolls version of 'hell'. It is not. It is home to the Daedra. It is the plane of exsistance surrounding Nirn. The cosmos as seen from the world of Nirn is oblivion. The moons and celstial bodies are the mortals' view of the spheres of daedra floating in the skies. Stars are essentialy the energy of Aetherius shining through holes in Oblivion. Nirn: Nirn is the planet on which we witness the elder scrolls series. Not only does the land of tamriel exsist here, but it is also home to several other continents. It is also known as 'The Mundus', or the mortal plane. It is known as the mortal plane because all of its species eventualy die. It has two moons, Masser and Secunda, which orbit it, and the sun which Nirn orbits is known as Magnus. The continents of Nirn include Akavir, Aldmeris, Atmora, Pyandonea, Tamriel, and Yokuda. Masser and Secunda are the two moons of Nirn. The continents: Akavir can roughly be translated into Dragon Land. It lies to the east of tamriel, and is home to the races that make up the Akaviri, the Kamal, Tsaesci, Tang Mo, and Ka Po' Tun. In the history of Nirn, the Tsaesci have attempted (and failed) to invade Tamriel. Humans did live in Akavir for a period of time, but the obviously brutal Tsaesci killed them off. Little is known about Aldmeris. It is rumored that Aldmeris lies to the south of Tamriel. Aldmeris is also called Ehlnofey in Elven tongue. It is the place the Aldmer emigrated from and was said to be completely covered by urban growth. It is possible it is still populated by Aldmer, but all those who had tried to find it have failed. It has also been suggested by some that Aldmeris is a myth, and does not actually exist. Atmora is an unlivable frozen land, though it was once warmer and inhabited by the Nedes. Over 4000 years ago, a man named Ysgramor traveled to the distant land of tamriel, and to its capital city of Saarthal. Soon thereafter, it was razed by the Aldmer, the ancestors of all Elves. Ysgramor retreated to Atmora with his two sons, and raised an army of 500 Nedic warriors known as the Five Hundred Companions, to take revenge against the Aldmer, who were almost completely eradicated in that portion of Tamriel. Ysgramor founded Skyrim, the first human kingdom of Tamriel. The kingdom of Pyandonea is series of islands to the south-west of Tamriel. The continent consists of hundreds of small islands, covered in lush tropical rainforests. It houses the many waterspirits. It is also the homeland of the Tropical Elves (or "Maormer"). The king of Pyandonea is the immortal Orgnum Thras, a wizard who claims to be God-Snake of Satakal. Three centuries ago, the island broke its alliance with the Summerset Isles, and Orgnum waged war against Tamriel. Potema, queen of the Kingdom of Solitude tricked Orgnum by convincing him that she would assist in overthrowing the current emperor, her half brother, Antiochus. Potema's scheme made Orgnum and his entire attacking fleet begin their assault against Tamriel. When Orgnum's Fleet passes near Artaeum, the homeport of the Psijic Order, a magical storm destroyed the entire fleet including Orgnum. The storm was created by the Psijic Order under the payroll of Potema. Tamriel, home of the Elder Scrolls series, is said to mean 'starry heart', though in an elvish tongue means 'Dawn's Beauty'. It consists of Nine provinces, Black Marsh, Cyrodiil, Elsweyr, Hammerfell, High Rock, Morrowind, Skyrim, Summerset Isles and Valenwood. In addition the city state of Orsinium is attempting to gain the title of Province. Yokuda lies to the west of Tamriel and was the homeland of the Redguards. It was once a great and prosperous continent. 3500 years ago, Yokuda was devastated by a giant tidal wave, of which the causes are still unknown. But it is more commonly accepted that the continent was in a deadly civil war and the Yokudans used a terrible weapon which poisoned the water and salted the soil of their lands, rendering them useless. Only one small archipelago remains today. |
