After a few more adventures, they'll be strong enough for interplanar travel, and I really relish the idea of them exploring other planes. If anyone here knows me, they know I love to draw. I've been hand-drawing all the maps for the game so far; I draw the monsters, the characters, cities, and objects. I thought to myself, "Why don't I draw a 'map' of the Great Wheel for my players?" I sat down and drew a bunch of circles, using a dime to ensure that they were reasonably the same size, positioned in a manner similar to the picture of the Great Wheel from the DMG. I then decided that instead of writing the name inside the planes, or using some sort of numbering system, I'd use a symbol for each. For the Inner Planes, I used typical "elemental" symbols for the Elemental Planes, a black hole for the Negative Energy Plane, and a star for the Positive Energy Plane. That was easy enough. What I'm having a problem with is symbols for the Outer Planes. I've got the following symbols already... Acheron: A multitude of floating grey cubes. Mechanus: A great mass of gears. Arcadia: An "orderly" horizon. Bytopia: Two flat planes "facing" one another. Anybody got any simple symbols I can use for the others? |
