Obviously, the would would be more or less corrupted into a D&D setting, what with races other than elves being present. And special rules would have to be made for all the casters outside of druids and bards. If any of you are familiar with this series, feel free to help me work out the kinks, or hell, if you have an idea that would improve mechanics, feel free to shoot as well. This world is based more around the principals of Order (Lawful) and Chaos, rather than Good and Evil, as is the case most of the time. As such, it is more important to someone as to if you are chaotic than evil, however, the good-evil alighment does still matter, just not as much when dealing with non-neutral beings. Casters: Wizards and Sorcerers would be grouped into two categories: Order based and Chaos based. Order Mages would only be able to cast non-destructive spells, but would more easily be able to cast them and spend less xp on enchanting items, and Chaos Mages would only be able to cast destructive spells and scrying spells and the like, with additional damage stacked onto their attack spells. There would be a feat, probably made available around 6th level to 10th level that would in essence, allow the caster to begin adding spells of the opposite alignment to their spell list as they level up. Something along the lines of a Warmage, I think, would work well for the additional damage for the Chaos Mages, and a simple +1(+1 /3 levels, minimum +1) for DC's of Order Mage spells would help keep things relatively even. Any suggestions on how to work out the mechanics for this would be most welcomed. Aah, I have to go to Class. I'll add onto this later. Have fun, guys! |
