cpn_creepo 04-29-07, 08:05 PM	So, I'm building my own campaign world, and there's a few things I'm lacking. First of all, I need reference to what kind of people would make up a royal court. Next i need any sort of program or table that I could use to randomly generate names for both NPCs and places. And finally, I'd just like to see any sort of world building tools whatsoever. Guild generators, npc generators, anything really.

However, for the members of a royal court, I can be a some help. Here are just a few that you might find: Monarch Royal Family Visiting nobility court scribes court jester ladies-in-waiting royal guards ambassadors ambassadorial aides sycophants (ie suck-ups to the monarch) courtesans (ie prostitutes of the royal court OR simply women of the court) cupbearers heralds food tasters petitioners to the monarch royal advisors royal mages members of the clergy pages (ie errand boys) military officers visiting knights spies from an enemy realm bureaucrats and administrators keeper of the royal seal translators and linguists messengers servants dogs (usu. the favorite hunting hounds of the monarch) entertainers, bards, jugglers, musicians, actors, dancers chamberlain porters (ie doorkeepers to the court) slaves?

Beneath this official would be people responsible for the royal wardrobe, hunting hounds, pages, stables and so on) Butler (actually a high office--responsible for providing all the food and drink at court) High Constable (a constable is a military official responsible to his lord or king for maintaining the peace in a part of the kingdom. The king might have a High Constable or Marshal to whom he appoints the task of running military affairs if he is busy or is perhaps fighting two wars at once) What kind of culture do you want as a background?
