Divokej 08-18-07, 11:59 PM	First of all, this is far in the (real time) future so I'm not sure of the specifics but I want to get as much planned before school starts up again. So, there's a half-blue dragon half human who is the unknown grandson of the duke of Guran that has been raised by a tribe of rather nasty goblins goblins. He has broken away from this tribe with a small group of followers. He will overthrow the baron. (Who is corrupt and a very, very bad man.) There is also a Rakshasa who was planning on taking over the city through a series of underhanded tricks that would leave the city in his hands. He wouldn't claim legal rulership but rather stewardship and in the time needed to figure out who the duke is skim money off the top, sides and middle of the treasury. Now however, he is going to drive the usurper off and then become the steward. In the meantime he is allying with tribes of monsters in order to raid caravans and supply him with money. Which he lends to nobles to finance their trading caravans. Which are subsequently raided. Leaving them in debt to him. He's such a nice fellow however that he continues to lend money to the cash-strapped nobles. And it's such a shame they are being raided. Really it is. (Eventually, the PC's get involved in this, truly I swear.) Now, what I want to have happen is for the PC's to side with the half-dragon (who, in spite of his awful upbringing is a really nice fellow) and unmask the Rakshasa (who is posing as a human noble from a far off land). The problem is I'm not sure how to bring it to my characters attention. So far they have been attacked by goblins under the orders of Otiluk (the Rakshasa) and I plan on having it brought to their attention that Uris (another name for the Rakshasa) is organizing raids on the caravans. What I don't know is how can I bring these threads together? P.S. This wouldn't be the end of the campaign. If all goes well, they'll be dealing with a small civil war over who controls Guran; working on behalf of the half-dragon Tibilsirah. (It's a large city in a small kingdom.) If it doesn't go well, they're still stuck in the middle of a civil war, but this one has no heir apparent. Otiluk will have killed all of them in his bid for power.
taradusis 08-19-07, 12:38 PM	Basically the PCs will have to be informed thru NPC interactions.A henchperson of the rakhasa will betray his master.A noble will hire a spy/inquisitor to find out.PCs will be approached to help with nefarious deeds,ETC.
