| devinmdp07-28-03, 10:37 PM | Hello: If anyone is interested, I have a homebrewed world called Therra that has been in continuous campaign mode now for 13 years. http://home.earthlink.net/~devinc/jerranqsmall.gif You can find out about Therra at: http://home.earthlink.net/~devinc/therra3.htm This page contains all of the 3rd edition Therran stuff. The bulk of the 9 year campaign took place under 2nd edition and you can find a link to the 2 Ed Therran page here as well. Included are maps, guides, gods, stories, etc. The 2nd edition page includes an entire campaign to save the world, including the final massive world-ending scenario that is over 600 pages long! Therra is a low magic world where the gods were tricked into Slumber by the Deceiver, who then sought to claim the world as his own. The gods were awakened and the Deceiver dragged into Slumber with the gods at the end of the 2nd Ed campaign and the world was cleansed of the Deceiver's menace. Now, 21 years later, the world has rebuilt from the great War of the Gem and evil is creeping back into the world. I welcome comments and anyone who wishes to write submissions for inclusion into Therra can contact me at devinc@aol.com. So far I have several people around the world using my campaign world as their own D&D setting. Regards, Devin |
| devinmdp08-12-03, 01:48 PM | I also have 3rd edition scenarios fully typed up and available, mostly for lower level parties. These are not posted to the website (don't want my players seeing them) but are available upon request. Devin |
| devinmdp08-18-03, 02:35 PM | The Heroes of the Gem section will be updated in a few weeks to reflect a new high level adventure they are going through. Also, maps will be redone in CC2 Pro, so hopefully they will look better. Devin |
| devinmdp08-28-03, 08:36 PM | Hello. I have redone my world map in CC2 Pro. It now looks great (if I do say so myself). I invite you all to check it out at: http://home.earthlink.net/~devinc/jerranqpolitical1.htm The page may take a few moments to download on a slower connection. Regards, Devin |
| devinmdp09-19-03, 04:07 PM | Lots of new stuff added to the website: 1. Revised slightly the large continental map of Jerranq. This may take a while to load on a dial-up, but I have been told the map is stunning. 2. Revised the maps for the Far Coast and Northern Border of the Far Coast in CC2 Pro. They now look much much better! 3. Added a narrative of a neat scenario I ran for two players called Above and Below. 4. Added an overview map of the Kingdom of Slumber showing the Cantons ruled by the Heroes of the Gems (map done in CC2 Pro) 5. Added a detailed map of Queequeg's Canton, showing all major settlements and points of interest (map done in CC2 Pro) 6. Added a document giving a fairly detailed overview of the legendary Kingdom of Slumber, including a creation myth and other details for anyone wishing to set a campaign in that kingdom. |
| devinmdp09-19-03, 04:09 PM | First 3 ed Therran scenario is posted! You can find it on the website: http://home.earthlink.net/~devinc/therra3.htm This is a high level scenario run through by the Heroes of the Gem. It's heavy on combat, as we used it as an introduction to high level play for 3rd edition. All stats have been converted to 3.5 and the encounters were designed to use a wide variety of abilities and combat styles. More scenarios (many for low level parties) to be posted in the next week or so! |
| devinmdp09-22-03, 06:33 PM | The first low level scenario has been posted to the Therran website. It is an assassination mission undertaken by the forces of good to remove an orcish emissary from rallying the tribes against the dwarves. The final fight was a blast to run for my players...especially with the dragon (it's an itty bitty one and is on the players' side!). Devin |
| devinmdp09-23-03, 04:42 PM | More scenarios published on the website for Therra. Here's a brief rundown: Enough is Enough! - The first high level adventure for 3rd edition Therra, the Heroes of the Gem are pitted against a troublesome power who has a longstanding grudge against Morg. The Heroes reunite to take the battle to the enemy and stop him from making any further attempts on Morg or his family. A short adventure for levels 15-20, heavy on combat and a chance for high level characters to flex their muscles. For use with the statistics of the Heroes of the Gem presented on the Therran website. Strike Back - An orcish emissary is travelling the lands south of Nirzumbil attempting to keep the tribes in line and focused upon harrassing the dwarves. If the party can defeat the emissary before he can complete his rounds, they might be able to splinter a part of the orcish alliance. An adventure for levels 3-5. A Taste of Honey * - The party has been hired to retrieve some honey from the some bees. Sounds simple right? Too bad these bees are monstrously large! An adventure for levels 2-4. A Gem in the Hand * - The party wants to collect its reward from a dwarf they have aided. Unfortunately, getting him home is half the fun. A sequel to "The Ring of Truth". An adventure for levels 1-3. Where There's Smoke... * - Some plot is afoot in the town of Dwillingir. What is the secret behind the mysterious metal crate? Who is maneuvering to shift the balance of trade in the region? An adventure for 1st level characters. Above and Below - Haggofik the dwarven prospector has a nose for ore. And he believes he's found a vein of rare metal up in the mountains. The only problem is that this territory is claimed by a tribe of birdmen. An adventure for levels 2-4. A Bit of Blood * - The recipe to fashion that magic item calls for a few drops of fey blood. Hmmm...where in the nine hells can that be found? The first Riverine Campaign adventure, suitable for level 1 characters. Regards, Devin |
| devinmdp09-23-03, 10:24 PM | Posted another scenario to the website. This is called "Shattered Trust: and is for low level adventurers. Devin |
| devinmdp09-25-03, 02:45 PM | Yet another Therran 3rd ed scenario has been posted to the website: The Ring of Truth * - All the party did was help a dwarf recover his magic ring. So how did they end up in the middle of a tragic love triangle? An adventure for levels 1-3. Regards, Devin |

But why then are the groundlings becoming numerous around his ruined tower? And what are those strange lights seen in the distance coming from the direction of his tower? Has the wizard somehow cheated death and risen again? An adventure for levels 2-4. Regards, Devin |
| devinmdp09-26-03, 06:42 PM | The scenario "Above and Below" is now fully posted to the Therran website: Above and Below - Haggofik the dwarven prospector has a nose for ore. And he believes he's found a vein of rare metal up in the mountains. The only problem is that this territory is claimed by a tribe of birdmen. An adventure for levels 2-4. Devin |
| devinmdp09-26-03, 06:59 PM | Coming Soon to the Therran website: The remaining detailed maps of the last four Cantons of Slumber. A map of the Isle of Onlor The map and detailed description of House Riverine in Dwillingir An overview map of the town of Dwillingir The scenarios: "Let it Be": It's finally time to head home from the dwarven stronghold. And surprise surprise, another orc attack. But something's not right here. Why are the orcs more afraid than the party? What is it that lurks in the abandoned mines that is striking fear to the normally fearless orcs? An adventure for levels 3-5. "Love's Labour Lost": Lady Marinto is the daughter of one of the Pasheks of Gerilong. She has been placed in the party's care to weather out the political turmoil raging across her father's lands. | devinmdp09-30-03, 05:53 PM | The scenario Let it Be has been posted to the website. "Let it Be": It's finally time to head home from the dwarven stronghold. And surprise surprise, another orc attack. But something's not right here. Why are the orcs more afraid than the party? What is it that lurks in the abandoned mines that is striking fear to the normally fearless orcs? An adventure for levels 3-4. In addition, the high level scenario "Enough is Enough" has been tweaked in one encounter to bring it better in line with the upper levels of play of that scenario. Devin |
| devinmdp10-01-03, 02:48 PM | The next Therran scenario for 3.5 has bee posted to the website. Love's Labour Lost (3.5 rules) - The Lady Marinto's father is embroiled in political turmoil in his home nation. So he spirited his daughter away and the party is asked to guard her for a time. But just who or what is after her...and why? An adventure for levels 3-5. Devin |
| devinmdp10-03-03, 02:53 PM | I have posted to the Therran website two new maps: 1. A detailed map of Lancre's Canton in the Kingdom of Slumber, and 2. A detailed map of Morg's Canton in the Kingdom of Slumber. Regards, Devin |
| devinmdp10-07-03, 06:16 PM | The final two detail maps of the Cantons of Slumber have been posted to the Therran website. These include the Cantons of Korvar and Eracuss. In addition, some minor tweaks have been made to Morg's Canton. Up Next...A fullscale map of the Isle of Onlor and an update of the Onlor Gazetteer! Devin |
| devinmdp10-13-03, 05:58 PM | The Therran website has been slightly reorganized to make things easier to find. In addition, I have converted all of the overland maps from jpegs to gifs. This will make the loading times for the maps decrease greatly...especially for the large continental map! Devin |
| devinmdp10-13-03, 06:00 PM | A full scale map of the Isle of Onlor has now been posted to the Therran website. Onlor is an island about the size of Australia and the map includes every single settlement with a population of 200 or more! This map is accompaniment to the revision of the Onlor Gazetteer which will be posted this week. Onlor makes a great place to begin a campaign and has everything you need to run a self-contained campaign on the Isle. Devin |
| devinmdp10-13-03, 06:01 PM | Pdfs of the character sheets from my current players in Therra are now available for persual. These will show you how characters look in a low-magic world like Therra. Devin |
| devinmdp10-20-03, 05:36 PM | The religion of Firlott, god of the hunt, is posted to the Therran website. In addition, three deities had some slight adjustments to their domains to account for the new domains presented in the "Book of Exalted Deeds". Devin |
| devinmdp10-21-03, 02:42 PM | I have posted to the Therran website a timeline for the current historical campaign I am running in the world. This will be useful to my players and to anyone wanting to better understand how the scenarios presented on the website relate and interweave. This timeline will be updated every other week as the campaign progresses. Devin |
| devinmdp10-27-03, 04:12 PM | The latest Therran scenario has been posted to the website. This one is: Witness Protection (3.5 rules) - The leader of the infamous Green Arrows has been captured. So much for the easy part! Now he has to be transported to Dwillingir to face trial, and the Imperator is betting that someone wants to keep that from happening. Can the PCs ensure he reaches his destination? An adventure for levels 3-5. Look for the sequel to this scenario, entitled "Green Raid" coming soon! Devin |
| devinmdp10-27-03, 05:09 PM | I have posted a 3.5 edition version of the Grandfather Plaque from 2nd edition AD&D. The Grandfather Plaque was technically a type of gargoyle in 2nd edition, but I have converted it to a golem construct. The Heroes of the Gem have such a creature in their service, and so it was necessary to do the conversion. You can find it at: http://www.devinweb.com/creaturegrandfatherplaque.htm More creatures will be upcoming, including: Clockwork Swordsman (conversion from 2nd edition AD&D) The Essence of Evil (a horror from Therra) Aobi (servants of Flupnir, God of Tricks) Regards, Devin |
| devinmdp11-04-03, 04:54 PM | Yep. I was foolish enough to attempt to list every single official D&D and Faerun feat in the books by category, with descriptions of benefits and prereqs. Little did I realize it'd be over 800 of them! Now you get to benefit from the bloody stumps I call fingers. http://www.devinweb.com/featlisting.htm Enjoy! Devin |
| Darkest9011-04-03, 05:27 PM | Very, very creative. Nice work. A lot of work went into this and it definitely shows it. |
| devinmdp11-11-03, 02:28 PM | Made numerous spelling correction to the Feat Listing. Also corrected the entry for Expert Tactician and added the Item Creation Feat for Grafts found in the Fiend Folio. The listing can be found at http://www.devinweb.com/featlisting.htm And includes every feat in every single official book to date (with the exception of the Draconomicon). Devin |

| devinmdp11-11-03, 03:47 PM | The Riverine Guildhouse is now posted to the website in the DM Only section. This is a complete map of every single room in the Dwillingir House Riverine Guildhouse, which is comprised of four above ground storeys plus a basement and dungeon. No NPC stats are presented (those will be posted separately soon), but there are several new magic items presented in the writeup and the whole could serve even non-Therran DMs who need a large, decently well-guarded mansion or guildhouse that their PCs can use as a base of operations or can even try to break into and do a little "borrowing" ;-) The guildhouse contains some clues to secret information for the Therran Campaign, so players of the campaign should not avail themselves of this item. Regards, Devin |
| devinmdp11-17-03, 07:29 PM | I have had to tweak the Therran calendar. It is now fully workable. I have also included a full Therran calendar webpage which also includes phases of the moon for every day of the year. You can find this at: http://home.earthlink.net/~devinc/therra3calendar.htm Regards, Devin |
| devinmdp11-19-03, 03:36 PM | The feat listing has been corrected to account for some errors in the prerequisites for some Epic class feats. In addition, most of the new feats from the Draconomicon have been added. The rest will be added shortly. http://www.devinweb.com/featlisting.htm Regards, Devin |
| devinmdp11-19-03, 07:01 PM | New, hopefully better look. Easier to navigate. Easier to find files. I enacted this redesign because the number of material for Therra was growing and the old format wasn't as user friendly as I like. Comments or suggestions regarding the new design are welcome. http://home.earthlink.net/~devinc/therra3.htm Devin |
| devinmdp11-20-03, 06:49 PM | The feat listing is now finished. All Draconomicon feats are included. More errors have been corrected, and the whole has been resized and reformatted to look better on screen. Devin |
| devinmdp11-25-03, 07:40 PM | I am proud to announce the posting to the Therran website of the Onlor Gazetteer. This is a large (80 pages) document detailing the Isle of Onlor, a body of land the size of Australia that is home to the halflings of Therra, though it is now also colonized by humans, elves, and gnomes. The Gazetteer features a description of every single village, town, and city on the Isle with a population of 200+. Terrain features are also presented, along with overviews of the four kingdoms, details of customs and mores, a history of the Isle, etc. This document accompanies the large scale map of Onlor presented on the same website. Onlor was the starting location of the first Therran campaign, and as an Isle can be easily transported into any campaign world. You can access this document at: http://www.devinweb.com/therra3onlor.htm Regards, Devin |
| devinmdp12-01-03, 03:50 PM | Posted on the Therran website are maps for the Town of Dwillingir, capital of the Province of the Far Coast, home to House Riverine, and base for the current Therran campaign. There is an unlabelled smaller scale map of the city and a blown up version with key locations labelled. http://www.devinweb.com/dwillingir.htm You get to the larger map by clicking on the smaller map. A fully detailed writeup of the town is in the works. Regards, Devin |
| devinmdp12-01-03, 04:56 PM | NPC writeups for three important personages in the Riverine Campaign have been posted to the Therran website at: http://www.devinweb.com/riverinenpcs.htm These are fully worked up with backgrounds and can easily be used by other DMs in other worlds as pre-made NPCs and opponents. Regards, Devin |
| devinmdp12-01-03, 11:53 PM | The Feat Listing has been updated to include all of the changes and new feats from The Complete Warrior. Devin |
| devinmdp12-02-03, 05:03 PM | Posted to the Therran website is a scenario entitled "The Year 5536". This is actually a set of year long rumours and twelve mini-adventures that take place during a year of my campaign. For PCs of level 3-5. Regards, Devin |
| devinmdp12-08-03, 07:12 PM | Two more important NPCs have been posted to the DM Only section of the Therran wesbite. Devin |
| devinmdp12-17-03, 03:55 PM | I have now posted to the Therran website a system for conducting mercantile activity in Therra. The system is simple to use, but allows a DM to run trading by PCs in the background of a RP session. This system is suitable for any D20 game or campaign. You can find it at: http://www.devinweb.com/trading.htm Regards, Devin |
| furor12-20-03, 10:00 PM | thought i'd tell you i like the site |
| devinmdp01-05-04, 08:59 PM | Feats from Ghostwalk added. These only include the non ghost feats. Ghost feats are not used in my game world. Also, the Green Friend feat was tweaked slightly to work outside of Ghostwalk, and a couple of Ghostwalk specific non-ghost feats were not added. Devin |
| devinmdp01-08-04, 04:26 PM | Magic item creation in Therra uses formulae and has increased crafting times. I have now posted some magic item formulae to the website. Even if you don't use the Therran magic item creation system, there are plently of neat new magic items to discover and some rather entertaining recipes as well. http://www.devinweb.com/recipes.htm Regards, Devin |
| devinmdp01-08-04, 09:02 PM | Backgrounds for some of the current PCs can be found here: http://www.devinweb.com/pcbackgrounds.htm These flesh out the PC sheets presented on the website and can be used to think up backgrounds for your PCs. Devin |
| devinmdp01-13-04, 05:55 PM | Two new items dealing with Queequeg's Canton of Slumber, authored by the player of Queequeg, are posted to the website under the GEOGRAPHY heading. This includes an overview of Queequeg's castle Surlamar, and information and write-ups of some notable NPCs of the Canton. Regards, Devin |

| devinmdp01-15-04, 09:10 PM | I am creating a table showing all of the allowed core and prestige classes for the World of Therra, along with comments on them. You can find the ever-growing table at: http://www.devinweb.com/classes.htm Devin |
| devinmdp01-17-04, 12:52 AM | The Class listing has been updated extensively. Devin |
| Coldpenguin62501-18-04, 12:07 AM | Very cool looking site. One question, what did you use to make those maps? They look really good. |
| devinmdp01-21-04, 10:35 PM | Originally posted by Coldpenguin625 Very cool looking site. One question, what did you use to make those maps? They look really good. Thanks. I used CC2 Pro, from Profantasy (www.profantasy.com). It is a very VERY difficult program to learn and the documentation is really pathetic, but it also cannot be beat by any other mapmaking program around once you finally master it. The headache is well worth it for the end results IMO and now that I know my way around it I can create maps very quickly and easily. Devin |
| devinmdp01-21-04, 10:37 PM | Added classes from Underdark, Book of Exalted Deeds, and Book of Vile Darkness to the class listing at: http://www.devinweb.com/classes.htm Regards, Devin |
| Coldpenguin62501-21-04, 10:40 PM | Thanks, I'll definitely check out the program and I must say WOW, you have dedication, lol, if only I could get so much stuff together for my homebrew. Good Luck and I'll check the site now and then for new stuff. |
| devinmdp01-21-04, 10:55 PM | I know lots of threads on this boards have called for contributors. I can only say that my world, Therra, is vital, active, and has several campaigns running in it around the world. There is a chance that at some point, if the setting reaches a certain critical mass, it may be published (possibly self-published). I welcome any and ALL potential contributions to the world from the gaming public at large. These can be ANYTHING...from a writeup of a Therran religion to a scenario to a single encounter to a new creature to an NPC to a song or poem...anything no matter how large or how small. You can even "adopt" a corner of the world and design it whole cloth! My only guidelines are that it has to be good and it has to fit into the world (or at least not contradict the world). I don't publish official Therran stuff on this message board, so don't bother submitting stuff here. Instead, if you are interested, please email your stuff or questions to me at devinc@aol.com and please put THERRA in the subject line somewhere so I won't spam delete you. Anything I publish to the Therran website becomes official Therran doctrine and is adopted into the setting. Of course, anything you submit to me becomes my material to use in the world as I see fit. I will always properly credit any contributors. You will get no pay, but you will be part of an ever-expanding long term fantasy gaming world, you will be published to the website, and your name will be credited prominently. Anything you submit that I intend to edit I will consult with you first. Several players in the world are already submitting items. Regards, Devin |
| devinmdp01-22-04, 05:44 PM | Added classes from Magic of Faerun and Faiths and Pantheons. In addition to its Therran applications, I think this list will also be a good reference list for anyone in any campaign to see what classes have been officially published for D&D in the various books. Frankly, this project, like my Feat Listing project, has convinced me that there are enough of both of these. Still to Go: The Splat books Psionic Handbook Epic Handbook Manual of the Planes Savage Species Devin |
| devinmdp01-23-04, 05:17 PM | Adding to the class listing. Have added all classes from: Savage Species Ghostwalk Psionics Handbook Draconomicon Regards, Devin |
| devinmdp01-28-04, 05:32 PM | The great Therran listing of all classes and prestige classes in the game is finished. You can find it at: http://www.devinweb.com/classes.htm It includes all classes from all of the core rulebooks, supplemental rulebooks, and Faerun core books. Devin |
| devinmdp02-09-04, 02:09 PM | Posted two items to the Therran website: 1. Intelligence on House Mercur - This document outlines the history of House Mercur and its status in the Far Coast as well as provides some rumours for happenings in the Dwillingir region as of N.S. 22. 2. The Lake Cald Situation - Background on the Lake Cald situation, along with rumours and adventure hooks. What is behind the strange things beginning to occur in the volatile Lake Cald region? Regards, Devin |
| devinmdp02-17-04, 05:33 PM | The Therran Spell Listing is now posted in its current form to the Therran website at: http://www.devinweb.com/spells.htm This is going to be a comprehensive listing of every single spell available to every single class and PrC in Therra from all official WOTC sources, Faerunian sources, and third party sources approved for use in Therra. So far the lists include every spell from the PHB, DMG, splat books, Mini Hand book, and Spells & Spellcraft by Fantasy Flight Games. Over the next two weeks the list will be completed by adding spells from: Draconomicon Complete Warrior Magic of Faerun Forgotten Realms Campaign Sourcebook Races of Faerun Underdark Faiths and Pantheons Book of Vile Darkness Book of Exalted Deeds Like the other great Therran lists, the Feat Listing and the Class Listing, this list can be an invaluable tool for any Dm in any world who doesn't want to flip through ten books to choose spells for his favourite NPC or BBEG. Devin |
| devinmdp02-18-04, 03:08 AM | The Second scenario in the Green Arrow trilogy has now been posted to the website. Entitled "Green Raid", it follows on the heels of "Witness Protection", and involves the PCs raiding the lair of the Green Arrows bandits. What they learn in the course of the raid is sure to have a profound impact on the rest of their careers! A scenario for 4-8 PCs of level 4-6. http://www.devinweb.com/scenariogreenraid.htm Regards, Devin |
| devinmdp03-01-04, 05:01 PM | More spells have been added to the great Therran spell listing. When finished, this list will include every spell for every class allowable in Therra, including spell lists for all prestige classes. http://www.devinweb.com/spells.htm Devin |
| devinmdp03-02-04, 06:54 PM | A new Therran scenario has been published to the website. This one is called "A Trick in Time" and is made especially for solo play, designed for a single wizard or sorcerer PC of level 3 or 4. There is an NPC who tags along who can also be run by a player, expanding the scenario to 2 players. The scenario features puzzles and riddles and is designed to be playable in a few hours. http://www.devinweb.com/scenariotrickintime.htm Regards, Devin |
| devinmdp03-05-04, 12:09 AM | The definitive article on Therran cosmology has been posted to the Therran website. Demi-planes are explained, and the Outre Realm is hinted at. Finally, what happens to souls in Therra after death is revealed. http://www.devinweb.com/therracosmology.htm Regards, Devin |
| Darkest9003-05-04, 12:27 AM | How I wish I could be able to afford that Campaign Cartographer... *drools* Having only MS Paint, cartographing my own homebrew world has been a disaster, so much hard work for so little results... This world-building you have done is amazing, and with a little more work, a few more concept artists involved, you could very well publish and sell your material. Good luck, Darkest90 |

Good luck, Darkest90 Thanks for the kind words. I'd love to publish one day, and welcome any artists who might wish to have their work decorate the website and eventually the published pieces. I also reiterate my invite for anyone who wants to contribute anything to the world. This is a large and expansive world and it is enduring (been around for 12 years now) and will be growing steadily. Devin |
| devinmdp03-19-04, 01:42 PM | The great spell list continues to be updated. Now includes spells from Races of Faerun, the Underdark, Book of Exalted Deeds, Book of Vile Deeds, and all of the Oriental Adventures classes. Devin |

Any possibility you'd like help fleshing it out? I had an idea, if you'd like something bizare for such a far-off place, for a nation of good, lawful, and highly-technological orcs. If this sounds interesting I'll post more later... |
| devinmdp10-04-04, 09:57 PM | Hey, great work! I've been admiring your world for quite some time actually. I remember you saying on one of the threads that you would accept help if it was good enough. I was looking at your global map at the little place called Deggern. Any possibility you'd like help fleshing it out? I had an idea, if you'd like something bizare for such a far-off place, for a nation of good, lawful, and highly-technological orcs. If this sounds interesting I'll post more later... Dear Tel'max: Thanks for the compliment. And of course I am always looking for contributions to the world. Deggern is actually not so small if you look at the scale of miles. I think it is on par with Australia. In any event, Deggern is almost the last frontier of Therra, in that it is the only area that I have almost no pre-conceived ideas about. As such, it WOULD be a wonderful place for contributions. However, you may have noticed that I have a file on my website that lists every single creature and race in the game and tells where they are native. I have done this massive project in order to lend Therra a more realistic feeling by having most creatures native to a fairly small range of territory. I think this is much more in line with our own world and, more importantly, allows ecologically for a wide menagerie of creatures to exist without competing with one another. How all this relates to Deggern is that there are almost none of the standard creatures or races on Deggern. It is in essence reserved for future releases, such as Monster Manual 4 and the like. For example, you may notice that some of the new races in the Expanded Psionics Handbook are native to Zzenddum. This saves me the trouble of having to explain why a whole new race suddenly plops up from nowhere and it makes the Continent of Zzenduum feel more exotic. So, I'd not want to place orcs on Deggern. Orcs are native to Jerranq. There are none on Sazhansiir or Zzenduum or Deggern. No elves on these either. In essence, Jerranq is sort of the "generic" D&D continent, Sazhansiir contains some of the exotic tropical and reptilian monsters from the expansions, Zzenduum is for psionics and many bug-like creatures and desert dwellers (call it a Dark Sun knock off if you like). Deggern will probably be for whatever new stuff pops up from MM4 or other supplements. That said, I see nothing wrong with considering your idea for Jerranq itself. It can't be an entire empire, but would you perhaps consider scaling it down to a community of such orcs? Regards, Devin |
| Tel'Max54610-04-04, 10:44 PM | See what you think and tell me if you want me to write more: The Jaganathi Worshippers of the god Malaktum, the Jaganathi or 'Steel Orcs' are one of the most interesting small communities to be found throughout the world. They are composed of the descendants of a group of extremely skilled smiths who served under the Deceiver. However, their intense absorption in their art eventually led to their reverence of the god of smiths and the abandonment of the forces of darkness. Instead, they withdrew into the mountains under the aegis of the leader, the prophetess Tygiela Jaganath. There they still respond to her revelation that the end of the world would come about in 5,6901 years. To avoid the eventual, mysterious destruction of the world, the Jaganathi are slowly preparing vessel capable of crossing the boundaries between dimensions in search of the astral paradise foretold in their scriptures. The vessel is massive and far from complete, but still an impressive site nevertheless. Its name translates to the common tounge as Skyspanner and, when completed, will likely exceed a mile in length. The current community (perhaps 10,000 individuals at most) is overseen by a council of female priests, all descendants of the prophetess' many husbands. Females likewise hold most religious and political power in the rest of the community, being allowed to marry up to ten husbands provided they are able to support so many spouses.... |
| devinmdp10-11-04, 02:51 AM | I like it! Where shall we place them? In the Grashtilim Mountains seems appropriate. 10,000 is a very large community, so it would have to be somewhat hidden....perhaps underground or in a hidden vale? Keep it coming. |

You might want to take a peek and perhaps adopt something similar for your world! http://www.devinweb.com/dwillingircrierpc.htm I will shortly be posting a few mini-scenarios and encounters to the DM Only portion of the website. It is called The Fimbulwinter, and involves the Heroes fighting against a Lothar priest who wants to bring winter back to the Kingdom of Slumber. For PCs between level 14 and 20, the scenario includes many items from Frostburn and epic level spells and abilities. Also includes a final, optional encounter that is CR 26. Devin |

| devinmdp07-26-05, 03:09 AM | The scenario "The Fimbulwinter" has been posted to the Therran website. http://www.devinweb.com/scenariofimbulwinter.htm The Heroes thought the Cult of Fimbul had been destroyed when its rituals were stopped. But they were horribly mistaken. Now a 40 mile swath of the Kingdom of Slumber has been plunged into an ice age, and more will follow. The Heroes must now find and confront The Fimbul himself to end the frosty threat to the realm. A scenario for levels 14-20 with an optional "kick-ass" ending encounter that will challenge the party to its uttmost. This is a DM Only item. Players should not follow this links. |
| devinmdp08-23-05, 04:14 PM | The tomb of the ancient barbarian prince Hammon has overlooked the village of Hammon's Creche for centuries. None have ever pierced its haunted portals, and the bones of all who have dared circle the hilltop surrounding the tomb. Yet rumours persist of fabulous treasure buried with the prince, including his legenedary axe, armour, and shield. But recently, miners who dug into the base of Hammon's Tor were never heard from again, and villagers whisper that the mines are now haunted by barbarian spirits. Could a new way have been found into the tomb? And what of the sightings of white-clad figures near the mine entrance? A large, multi-session scenario for levels 6-8. This scenario presents three items of legacy unique to the World of Therra and marks the first Therran use of the legacy concept presented in Weapons of Legacy. http://www.devinweb.com/scenariohammoneggs.htm This is a DM Only item. Verego the werebear owns a hive of rare red-striped giant bees that make the most fabulous, sweet-tasting honey in the land. And in the past he has always been willing to allow others to have access to the hive. So why has he suddenly cut off all access to his hive? | devinmdp12-04-05, 11:49 PM | I have to say that I really am impressed by your feat listing! Thanks! I have to admit I do it for my own benefit and the benefit of my players, but I am glad others find it useful. I am currently updating the spell lists for Spell Compendium, but then will add Heroes of Horror and Magic of Incarnum to all the Therran lists. Devin |
| devinmdp01-19-06, 04:42 PM | Have updated Therran spell lists for Spell Compendium for Assassins and Bards. Am working on updating the rest of the lists. After that, will update all Therran lists for Heroes of Horror, Magic of Incarnum, and Races of the Dragon. Devin |

| devinmdp02-24-06, 04:13 PM | Have updated the Therran spell lists for Clerics from Spell Compendium. Also noticed that somehow the spells for Wizards/Sorcerers from Complete Adventurer were left off. Have added those. In addition, noticed I failed to add a page for Vigilante spell listing from Complete Adventurer. Added that. Also have moved some Riverine Campaign retired PCs to the NPC stats page and introduced two new PCs to the PC page. Have updated the timelines for the Riverine campaign and the kids' campaign. Devin |

| devinmdp05-01-06, 05:57 PM | Have now updated Therran spell lists for Druids, Paladins, and Rangers for Spell Compendium. This has proven to be a massive project, and as such I have fallen behind on updating lists for Tome of Magic, Races of the Dragon, Complete Psionic, and Heroes of Horror. Once I finish with the Spell Compendium update, the rest should follow rather quickly. I have left to do on the Spell Compendium update: A. Update the sorcerer/wizard spell lists (this will take several weeks) B. Update clerical domains C. Make a run through and see what updates need to ripple into PrC or other core classes such as wu-jen. Devin |
| devinmdp05-15-06, 01:25 AM | The scenario "Shadow on the Wall" has been posted to the Therran website. It was supposed to be a routine bajang hunt sponsered by a prince of Gerilong. But instead, the PCs must journey into the Shadowlands to rescue a princess. And when they find her, things are not as they expect. A scenario with significant elements from Oriental Adventures and Heroes of Horror for 6 PCs of levels 8-10. http://www.devinweb.com/scenarioshadowonthewall.htm This is a DM Only item. Players should not follow this link. |
| devinmdp06-26-06, 02:29 AM | After months of effort, all Therran spell lists are updated for Spell Compendium. This includes those spell lists from other sourcebooks that had spells mentioned in the Spell Compendium. Devin |
| devinmdp06-30-06, 12:18 AM | The scenario "The Tower of the Mage" has been posted to the Therran website. The PCs need to speak to a powerful and enigmatic mage. But the mage doesn't want to be disturbed. At least not by niggling rabble. What sort of obstacles has this particular mage set in place to deter interlopers? And can the PCs defeat these and gain an audience with the mage? The first scenario in the Nemis Cycle for 6 PCs of levels 8-10. http://www.devinweb.com/scenariotowerofthemage.htm This is a DM Only item. Players should not follow this link. |
| devinmdp07-05-06, 06:22 PM | The Therran class listing and Feat listing have now been updated for Heroes of Horror. Also, a few minor tweaks are being made to the scenario "The Tower of the Mage". Specifically, a nerf to the brass minotaur from MM2, as the monster is way too powerful for its CR (golems should not get iterative attacks with a built-in weapon....see iron golem for example). And a likely-needed tweak to stage three, on the off chance that a party of 9th level PCs does not have any ability to fly or levitate or change shape (horribly unlikely I know, but that stage of the scenario can be a TPK if the party does not have access to that). The tweak will be to grant some way for the PCs to travel over the obstacle presented in stage 3 by solving some minor puzzle. Devin |
| devinmdp08-01-06, 01:34 AM | Have now updated all Therran lists for Vestiges from Tome of Magic. |
| devinmdp08-01-06, 01:37 AM | All Therran lists have been updated for Races of the Dragon and Magic of Incarnum. |
| devinmdp08-26-06, 02:19 AM | The scenario "Cold Anger" has been posted to the Therran website. The Heroes of the Gem seek to undo the damaged caused by The Fimbul. In order to accomplish this, they must slay the source of his epic powers. Unfortunately, that source just happens to be the demonlord Kostchtchie himself! A scenario for 5 PCs of levels 16-20. http://www.devinweb.com/scenariocoldanger.htm This is a DM Only item. Players should not follow this link. |
| devinmdp09-14-06, 01:46 AM | All Therran lists have been updated for Players Handbook II. |

| devinmdp10-21-06, 05:16 PM | The newest Therran scenario has been posted to the website. The Ruins of Evil: A good old-fashioned dungeon crawl, the PCs must complete the first of two dangerous tasks assigned to them by an eccentric and possibly insane archmage. Having geased the PCs, they must now enter the dungeons below the ruined castle of Orcus and retrieve the demonlord's powerful scrying crystal. But what manner of evil has crept back into the dungeons since Orcus' fall? A scenario for 6 PCs of levels 8-10. http://www.devinweb.com/scenarioruinsofevil.htm This is a DM Only item. Players should not follow this link. |
| devinmdp12-06-06, 07:16 PM | The newest Therran scenario has been posted to the website. The Corrupted: The PCs must complete the second of two dangerous tasks assigned to them by an eccentric and possibly insane archmage. Having geased the PCs, they must now head to the heart of evil in the Blanthil Forest and retrieve the blood of a green dragon. Did the archmage mention that this dragon is not quite....right? And that the dragon is allied with the despicable fey'ri, traitorous demonic elves who were just as instrumental as the dreaded drow in bringing about the downfall of the ancient Elven Queendom of Blanthil? A scenario for 6 PCs of levels 8-10. http://www.devinweb.com/scenariocorrupted.htm This is a DM Only item. Players should not follow this link. |
| devinmdp12-11-06, 05:24 PM | All Therran lists have now been updated through Complete Mage and Cityscape. That means they are all complete and up to date. Am compiling a new list of skill uses, since these are tossed around a dozen or so books. Devin |
| devinmdp12-14-06, 07:14 PM | All Therran lists have been updated through Fiendish Codex - Tyrants of the Nine Hells. Devin |
| devinmdp01-16-07, 11:51 PM | The newest Therran scenario has been posted to the website. A Fistful of Souls: Having completed tasks for the archmage Hagistre, the PCs must now pursue the fiend F'harrik'il in a planar quest to obtain and free the soul of the mage Nemis. But how do they manage that in the midst of a city populated entirely by fiends! A planar adventure for 6 PCs of levels 9-11 with plenty of unique roleplaying opportunities for PCs and DMs alike. http://www.devinweb.com/scenariofistfulofsouls.htm This is a DM Only item. Players should not follow this link. |
| devinmdp05-20-07, 04:30 AM | More Therran Lists! I have added 3 lists to the Therran website to help beleaguered DMs. 1. A skill list showing every possible use for every skill in all of the books and supplements. Want to know where the rules are for Haggling? Look on my list. http://www.devinweb.com/skills.htm 2. A tricks list showing all of the tricks and purposes allowed to be taught to an animal in all of the books. Did you know you could teach your horse to dive off a cliff into the sea? http://www.devinweb.com/tricks.htm 3. A Therran Rules Manifest, showing all of the variant and optional rules in all of the books and whether I use them in my campaign and why. At the very least, other DMs might find the list useful as a checklist for their own campaigns are to simply see what optional rules are out there amidst all of the 3.5 books. http://www.devinweb.com/rulesmanifest.htm These are Player Acceptable links. Players may access these links. Regards, Devin |
| devinmdp05-21-07, 08:59 PM | All lists have been updated for Dungeonscape. Coming next, updates for Complete Scoundrel, Magic Item Compendium, Queen of the Demonweb Pits, and Drow of the Underdark |
| devinmdp06-13-07, 05:47 PM | Two of the final three scenarios in the Riverine campaign have been posted to the Therran website. Mercurian Vengeance: Revenge is a dish best served cold. And now is the time to serve it up. Having recovered Nemis' soul splinter, the PCs have also learned some interesting things about House Mercur, things that have pushed Trade Lord Barnabus to the edge of irrational anger. Now he demands a reckoning. House Mercur must be assaulted, its leaders slain, and its secrets laid bare. For 6 PCs of levels 10-12. http://www.devinweb.com/scenariomercurian.htm Old Friends and Older Enemies: House Mercur is crushed and its deadly secret revealed. Now the PCs must join forces with the Heroes of the Gem to confront those behind House Mercur perfidy. But just what lies at the end of this road? A fight to the death, or an opportunity beyond their wildest imaginings? For a mixed group of 7 PCs of levels 10-12 and 4 PCs of levels 15-18. http://www.devinweb.com/scenariooldfriends.htm These are DM Only items. Players should not follow these links. |
| devinmdp09-16-07, 04:25 PM | The final scenario in the Riverine campaign has been posted to the Therran website. Kiss of the Spider Queen: Having exposed the plots behind House Mercur, the PCs agree to take on their final challenge, to slay Lolth in her own lair! The final scenario in the Riverine Campaign, based extensively on parts of the published scenario Expedition to the Demonweb Pits, but designed for an effective party level of 21-22. http://www.devinweb.com/scenariospiderqueen.htm This is a DM Only item. Players should not follow this link. |
| devinmdp09-16-07, 04:31 PM | The Riverine Campaign is now completed. It was a 5 year campaign that started the PCs as 1st level hirelings of an outpost merchant house and ended with them (along with other heroes) slaying Lolth. I now intend to begin my next campaign (with no title as of yet), an epic campaign from 2nd level all the way to 25th level, which should take about 10 years of real life time. There will also be an optional add on campaign for another 5 years of real time that will take PCs into the mid 30s in level. I DO NOT intend to upgrade to 4.0. Instead, my next campaign will use the 3.5 system (though with some third party sourcebooks removed). Those interested can check the website for items relating to the new campaign (as well as all of the items relating to the old campaigns). Furthermore, I will continue to post updates here until such time as WOTC charges a subscription price for posting here. As always, outside contributions to Therra are welcome. Devin |
