They had a 'Midnight Madness' where every attendee was in the same scenario. We were each given a character that was part of a pirate ship. Each ship was placed on a big map and we had to return to port with the most treasure and booty. They had something like 8 ships of 6 players. Treasure was things that would make us more wealthy. Booty was stuff (captives, goals etc...) that would please our superiors (a Pirate King). It was a fun scenario and a really good idea. They had multiple DMs for most of our possible destinations and each ship had a chain of command that they used to organize us. Constructive criticism: They should have had us start away from home port. Most ships wanted action quickly so DM's for further regions didn't get used very well. Does anyone else have outlines of tournament Ideas from other cons etc.... It seems like a difficult thing to organize a convention and I'm curious about people's experiences. Knute |
