08-27-07, 06:12 PM Heres a storyline my players loved its short but fun.

the players climb a large cylendrical tower thats peak is into the clouds.
the tower is ladden with traps ladden with traps of varriyng difficulties. after a half days climb they enter a large castle that comes out of a mountain. (this is were i used the spawn scale nursery maps). it is filled with vampires,liches,umber hulks,orcs,mature black dragons ,kolbolds,gnomes,knolls,famine spirits and a hellfire wyrm.the vampires are at war with strange masked people. on the masked side a lawful good chymeria that is in acuality a young girl (age 23).in a nursery lies 10 gray linworm eggs(9 of wich are bad) and a hellfire wrym egg. if the players take the hellfire wyrm egg they will induce the mothers wrath. The leader of the vampires is a vampiric valkariye wth 150 hd and an ac of 21. before reaching the characters reach the hellfire wrym the valkarye leads a mass of beast to destroy the players.

Sounds like classic hack&slash... could you give more details of the story?

09-01-07, 06:18 PM Well the story behind it is pretty long but here it goes:

Back in the first millenia a deal was struck between the main races (Human, Elf, Gnome, Halfling, Half orc, Goblinoid, And The Necros{Residents of the place called the {:p:UNDERWORLD:p:}) that every mellenia there would be a great contest (Really a war but that makes it sound like everyone was blood thirsty) for controll over the earth. If the "contest" is not held a portal will open unleashing evil beyond words onto earth enslaving all who inhabit it.this was created by the evil deity wejas as a failsafe for what she thought was entertainment (wejas had nothing to do with the inital deal but found out about this and made sure there would be war{Wejas's version of the super boul})
The tower of death is in the 4th Mellinia humans and Gnomes worked together to win the "contest" and now recide over the Earth. unfourtanently some people don't want the "contest" to happen. so the Peoples of earth split into 3 warring factions: the empire(who want eternal control over the universe), The G.A.T.S. {Gurrilla And Tactical Specialist}( who don't want the "contest" from being held), and the Cardinals{masked people} (who don't really want The Unspeakable evil to be realesed [DUH!])
The final battle between the factions takes place in the emperial H.Q.{aka:Tower of Death} The Empire has recrutied the monsters. the G.A.T.S have decided tht the "contest" is better than the Unspeakable Evil, and join the cardinals.The empire was smart and built there H.Q. around the gate that allows the other races to enter and placed a Hell fire wyrm to gaurd it. should the players kill the HW then they should activate the gate via a use magic device check (doing so will result in the "contest" meaning empire loses). if the empire wins then you got yourself another Campaign because the Unspeakable evil will be realeased if the empire loses then the "contest" takes place.

09-01-07, 08:35 PM Some PCs won't want to participate in a Final Battle with the fate of the world in the balance.Some PCS will tend to screw up and lose the Final Battle just to see what happens.Will you run a post-apocalyptic campaign if the PCs blow it?

09-02-07, 11:42 AM well one PC has actually decided on killing both sides off destroying the gate that allows the evil in and going on there merry way:schemes: . one of them is even thinking of starting the "Contest":angelhide . and another doesn't give a rats ***** about what happens as long as he levels up:ayyyy!: . my other player wants the vampires to win beacause he wants to work with the evil:devil: . and yet another wants to do the good thing:angel:

How about you make the End Boss Of The Game an Advanced Colossal Half-Giant Half-Demon Half-Celestial Vampire Undead Living Again Vampire Half-Dragon Half-Strawberry pie. In a dish of cold iron that is so cursed that whenever anybody living touches it they are turned into a rhubarb.

(Oh, and the pie's a ninja. Samurai. Ninja Samurai in powered armor with lightsabers and Jedi tricks and double-lightsabers on his second set of arms which are controlled through neural implants. In somebody else's brain, because they are in, in fact, controlled by him. Him, being the pie. With plasma guns.)
