| Templar337806-19-07, 10:12 AM | Tried posting this in the general forum, got nowhere. Trying again here: Maybe this should be under the campaign creation section, but didn't seem to QUITE fit. So here it goes: I have a room in one of the areas my pc's are supposed to run across. Inside this room, (with some added special effects for mood) are 10 statues, depicting Immortal Heroes...or so they are supposed to think. In reality, these Heroes are asleep, and the the statues each have a little verse of Prophecy, which give a hint as to where they are now and what is going to play a major roll in their death. (unless they manage to avoid it.) The only one I have done is this: "From Icemountain I ruled. And in Icemountain I now sleep. My fate is to decided on the Dawn of Fire." Any ideas for similiar ones for the other 9? I don't really want to go to the trouble of typing out the whole story for each (since it would be really really REALLY long), but here is a title for the other nine, if that helps. (also, gender is labeled) 1. Lady Night (Vampire actually) (F) 2. Frostfury (this one is done...the one from above) (M) 3. The Ghost Empress (She actually is a ghost)(F) 4. The Wanderer (M) 5. Thunderheart (F) 6. The Prince of Shadows (M) 7. Priestess of the One (F) 8. Emperor of Stars(M) 9. Firestorm(F) 10. The SeaKing; The Lord of Atlantis (not the same as the original legend....this one is intact beneath the waves due to magic)(M) Losing any of them is very bad. Losing all of them, and the players have pretty much doomed the world to darkness and death:evillaugh |
| Heros_Backpack06-20-07, 08:57 AM | It's hard to do without knowing any of the places or fates, but would something like this work? Lady Night: I dream by day but rule the night, yet my dreams of horror have nine colors of light. |
| Templar337806-20-07, 10:10 AM | Thats exactly the kind of thing I am looking for. It doesn't matter at all what the "fate" is actually going to be for now. I am looking for things that are vague and hard to interpret (isn't that the real definition of prophecies? :D ) and that I can turn into a real event later. I've already got ideas for the one you just gave me...excellent! thank you much! |
| Alltat06-20-07, 11:08 AM | Not really knowing anything about any of them, I'm just improvising blindly here. All of them rhyming, although perhaps a bit more vague than you'd like them. Should be mostly modifiable to first person, but I kind of liked them this way. The Ghost Empress: Awakened sleeper still recalls / memories reflected through the mirrored halls. The Wanderer: He who walks the endless road / to not know rest in death's abode. Thunderheart: From kingdom built on clouds up high / fall to rest 'neath Azure sky. The Prince of Shadows: Broods in darkness black until / fear brings terrors greater still. Priestess of the One: Mother nursing world's belief / losing self to hopeless grief. Emperor of Stars: Forever trapped in darkest dream / blind to see Morningstar's beam Firestorm: Rising flames her crest adorn / from the ashes Phoenix born The SeaKing: Nether crown that time forgave / throne undone by thousandth wave |
| Templar337806-20-07, 12:03 PM | *feels little lights go off over his head* eeeeeeeeeexcellent. I like them. Not sure I will use them all, but definately a couple of those set off sparks in the brain. Here is a bit of an explanation for what I am thinking on some of them. Emperor of Stars: I am forever trapped in darkest dreams, blind to the see the Morningstar's beam. These heroes are supposed to awaken when they are most needed. I am thinking that perhaps, the Emperor of Stars isn't able to, and that if he is to wake up, he needs help. That, or if he does wake up, something will try and bind him in darkness (on the plane of shadow maybe. or send him to the negative energy plane. ) The Prince of Shadows: "He broods in darkness black until / fear brings terrors greater still." The Prince of Shadow's greatest power is shadow magic and stealth. So something that he can't fight....like a shadow monster or something similar. I had a little short story written about him binding a demon...maybe it escaped his imprisonment by merging with the power binding it, making it into a Shadow-Demon of some kind.:evillaugh Lady Night: "I dream by day but rule the night, yet my dreams of horror have nine colors of light." She is a vampire, which I think is going to make her immune to the ageless sleeping of the other heroes. But her dreams, or rather nightmares when she does sleep during the day are filled with images of nine crystal shards. These crystals emit a different shade of light, and each have a different function, but when brought together, they can destroy any undead nearby....maybe even every undead within like a mile or something, with limits (once per month? details later). I'll do more later...gotta deal with a crazy professor first. |
| TimelordSimone06-20-07, 12:42 PM | Alltat: I may pinch some of those for my own use... No idea how They'll get used yet, but I really like them. |
