01-14-08, 03:12 PM I know that my screen name is lvl 10 human but in my campiagn i am an elf. My elf character is quite good at spells but not great and if i'm going to survive i need some sort of help. I thought i could get a wand, i know they are expensive but i have just become an epic character (above lvl 20) so i have enough gp i just don't no which wand to buy. (And don't tell me to get a staff i asked the DM and he told me they are more expensive and not as good.)

what type of caster are you what spells do you already have,etc more info please.( also I do not know about wands I mean they only go as high as level 4 why would a level 20 character need one.) I will understand more when I get your list of spells.also Do you want wands that do damage, battle field control, area of effect, save or die, what type do you want.

01-15-08, 12:25 PM Sorry about the waste of time :embarrass my friend logged on to my acount lol. He wants a wand and wanted to steal my money by cheating! So he has been kicked out of the cainpaign. However i am now woundering what the best wand would be. As in the cainpaign i'm playing the rest of my friends are evil and i could always buy them wands to get them become my allies. :rolleyes: lol!

01-16-08, 02:03 PM A better idea, although very expensive on the creator, is to get to level 23 or 25. Once you reach that point, begin working on a Staff of Wish.

It only costs about 750000 gold, and 250000 exp to create. (rough estimates, besides gold shouldn't be a problem when you can create a demi-plane made of platinum and mine 28 quadrillion platinum coins)

Use the first wish to get a deck of many things, and the second to wish that the next card you draw from the deck to be the sun disk (50000 exp and a wonderous item). Because the cards replace themselves, wish for that same card again and draw it. Repeat this process until you have your xp restored (also giving you a chance to repick spells and feats if your dm will let you) you should now have 44 wishes that cost nothing to cast and only take a standard action to cast from the staff. :eek:

Only real problem with this is the fact that it will take several years to finish the staff.

As the Wish spell can duplicate any spell below ninth level, all wands become obselete. (you can even wish that the staf change shape into a wand)

I give you the most powerful item in the world, capable of killing the 30-headed tarrasque!

01-16-08, 03:11 PM WOW! the staff of wish sounds very cool. Is it in the player guide (3.5)? Because when i looked all the staffs seem pointless to be frank. I think i will get that staff every campaign.

01-17-08, 09:16 AM It is not in the DMG, but the book does list rules and costs for creating staffs. It says that any spell can be put on a staff, but if there is an exp cost to the spell, the creator must pay it x50. which is why the deck of many things is a must to get back up there. The actual cost of the staff would be:

to buy: 1,351,250 gp

to make: 42,188 gp and 253,375 EXP and 85 days in the lab.

So, either find a level 25 wizard who is willing to lose twenty levels, or get to level 25 and create one yourself.

The creation of this item is the lifelong goal of my character.

Found a way to put the staff of wish abilities on any item:

Item cost: +2,685,000 gp (but you could add it to any item you want)

to make: 225,000 gp, 268,000 exp, and 225 days.

01-17-08, 07:17 PM If you really want unlimited power, buy a candle of invocation. It lets you gate in a creature of your own alignment for only 8400 GP. Gate in an efreeti (you have to be LE for this to work) and use it's wishes to get three staffs of wishes.

Once you're down to one wish on the staffs, wish for an candle of invocation and repeat the process.

01-23-08, 03:57 PM Okay...WOW!!! You guys have just made me a very happy person/elf! The only thing i ill say is i forgot about the time it takes my cahrecter to create the saff therefore in the year or so time i will plan out my wishes very carefully!
