Yeah, at last! a vication next week and I have a brand new idea for high-level characters, it goes like this.

The gods are bored. They create a huge world, go back to the real world, take some of the strongest people of each plane, send them to the HUGE world I spoke of before, and make them fight each other. It's based on gladiator wars, but epic.
You can't die of age there (aging off) , the last team to survive gets back to theire plane with one god-like power.
Each plane represents a deity, I think youi got the idea... but I want to optimize it a bit.... any ideas?

Perhaps for something to get you thinking more...in depth...maybe one of the Gods isnt on the up and up in this contest? Perhaps his champions have a secret agenda. Not so much beating the other contestants, but rather slaying of one of the Gods themselves. Your Heroes either are a) involved in the plot to kill a god or b) find out about this plot but their God does not believe them.

This takes a rather mundane Gladiator type game and adds some story, some spice, some pizzazz, and gives the characters motivation. What was for the Gods harmless sport becomes a game of life or death...Deicide at its finest. I dunno just an idea

ok thats a sweet idea, and my level 20 wizard/5 archmage (in that order.) that i based off Lezard Valeth from valkyire profile would fit right in, becuase in the game is trying to become a lesser god (at least) so he can have Lennith as his bride. he is very evil and has used the sacrfice of an old marryed couple killing each other unwillingly just to get her atention. the one promlem with him for this would likely be he has the norse verson of the philsoper's stone, which isnt a stone at all but a slab taht contains all knowledge, although you still need to actualy read and it's in cronological order from the begining of all to the end of all (yes it tells the future, but fairly broadly, like a history book becuase not all the future is set in stone.) and it has the power to once per year protect him from somthing equal to the power of destorying and then remaking an entire multiverse, even if it breaks down and cant be read again for the whole year. but he would be fun to use in that campagin becuase he could help them get out of that place if they need a way out and are on friendly terms with him, or could be the easiest way to explain stuff.

note: he is evil in alignment if you didnt figure that out from the description of him i gave.
un-agv. abilites scores: int 42 total (30+12 headband) and dex at 20.
his sigiture abilties whould be to be able to teleport near inf. times a day (and with the way his tower was bult in the game i cant blame him.) but that likely comes from an item, although to mimic this ability i made it so he could quick dimention door 9/day and teleport 6/day from his archmage levels.
signiture battle item dragon fang dagger: is able to give energy enough to subsitute for 100,000 gp of materal costs for spells per week and may give ETHER still or silent spell 6/day for any spell 3 levels lower than your maxium.

dang that was long

if you dont want to use i dont care, hes a very broken oerson, altough it was fun to build him up to level 25 from just 5

Lets see... First of all, gods are immortal. Even a god can't kill a god, those battles are the best way to settle things up.
I need some help with creating other groups....
I already thought of a lone black orc (which is the strongest foe)
He shares the same same Orc traits exept for:
*+6 STR, +4 CON, -2 INT, -4 CHA.
*Weapon proficient with ELmighty Orgamir's axe (XL, blunt, 2d10, *2, 10ft)
*Armor proficient with Orgamirs' Elmighty armor (+8, -4, 80%)
He sepouse to be a 20th level fighter from another plane, I call him Orgamir.
Someone have the nurve to make him for me???
Besides I need some homemade 20th level cretures.
Thanks in advance...

Not true. There are several ways to kill gods. Out and out combat is one. Another is making everyone forget about him. This is essentially the deific equivalent of torture.

The last way isn't exactly killing. It's more just taking them out of comission by trapping them in the moon, or underground, or on the back of a giant dragon turtle. All sorts of cool things.

However, for the purposes of your campaign lets just say that this is not feasible for your gods for whatever reason. Inner politics or something. You have several things you can do.

Here's something that should be interesting. Don't make the "monsters" monsters. Make them contestants.

That's right. The entire world is populated with contestants.

Maybe the contest goes on for a long time. Maybe some people get tired of it, and they decide to just live together. They figure that the gods are probably going to kill them anyway at the end, and if not their "patron," then probably another jealious god. They form countries.

That's right. Countries of level 20s.

No deity is willing to fight two thousand level twenty characters.

Then these countries have wars. They have children. This can be an entire campaign setting.

Anyway back to your idea. You could use what I said on a much smaller scale. Perhaps the avatar of one of the evil gods decided to cheat and is now a part of the contest, although the other gods haven't determined it yet. Perhaps even the god that spawned him is unaware that the avatar still exists. This charismatic avatar is leading the charge of the evil residents.

If you need stat blocks why not go to the Character Optimization board and pilfer away? There's also the villain thread? You might want to consider arena construction?RANDOM THOUGHTS

I'm not sure if you are still reading replys to this post, but you may want to check Monster's Manuel V.
They have there a desciption for the Dragon Games where dragons compete against each other to gain power. It could be Gods instead of the Dragons.

From what I make of this, it's similar to an event in the Faerun campaign setting (Though I may be incorrect...). Each deity was sent to the Material Plane, and forced to aid their followers. They each battled eachother, assuming the portfolios of the fallen.

I believe you could incorporate something like that to your idea, having each God participate in the "arena". You could even have the deities form alliances, their followers working with those of similar ideals. This, of course, is simply my idea (Okay, Faerun's campaign setting's creators ideas.)

Hopefully, this has been of some use to you. If not, ah well, no harm done.
