| doink121212-16-07, 03:31 PM | Classes are out and friends are returning home. I am looking to start a new campaign. Something easy to pick up and play. All Warlock Campaign Concept In order to pull this off these are the Homebrew rules: All PCs must have the majority of their class levels in either the warlock class or a PrC that improves either eldiritch blast damage or invocation use. Free Multiclassing Warlocks gain skills at 4+int mod per level(instead of 2) All skills are class skills Start at level 5 or 6 (I may do LA buyoff I havent decided yet) Everyone playing will build their characters together so they have a plan of action. The plot concept I have now is that they are like a preemptive strike team. Siege a couple villages, cause some havok, etc, etc. If anyone has other ideas please suggest them. I would like peoples opinion on this thread: http://forums.gleemax.com/showthread.php?t=864614&highlight=warlock%2C+new+invocations If it is good I may allow it, Ive only been able to skim so far. I only have Complete Arcane, Complete Mage, and Drow of the Underdark for Invocation Support. I am going to down the Hellfire Warlock PrC off the internet, and of course provide the links to The Warlock Information Compilation (http://forums.gleemax.com/showthread.php?t=751117) This is currently a shortterm campaign. What do you guys think, any ideas? |
| doink121212-16-07, 03:39 PM | Some Possible Parties Note: I will probably have at 5 or more people W/O LA Warlock / Sorceror / Eldiritch Theurge Warlock / Cleric / Eldritch Disciple Warlock / Fighter Warlock / Scout Warlock / Hellfire Warlock (Necromancer) Warlock Controller (Battlefield Control) Warlock / Spellthief Warlock / Hexblade (Some other CHA melee?) Warlock / Master of Flies Warlock / Swordsage Warlock / Ninja Warlock / Barbarian (24/7 boosts plus rage) Warlock / Dragon Shaman Warlock / Crusader Another Note: We do not play Psionics. We have the Completes, ToB, DoUD, Frostburn, MIC, Dungeonscape, DMII, PHBII, Races, and Core |
| CrimsonDeath12-16-07, 06:17 PM | Warlock/Beguiler/Eldritch Theurge might be a decent trap monkey. |
| doink121212-16-07, 06:31 PM | Warlock/Beguiler/Eldritch Theurge might be a decent trap monkey. My thoughts as well. Warlock / Beguiler / Mindbender / Eldritch Theurge 1 lvl of mindbender is nice. I dont have the Lords of Madness for the feat that goes with telepathy though. Only problem with Eldritch Theurge is the lack of great spellweave spells. |
| Dead_Weasel12-17-07, 04:33 AM | Dragon Shaman too? Just curious. I will see if I can rebuild my mounted warlock (not powerful, just neat) to stick up. EDIT: Whups, forgot that it required level 9-12 to pull off. Never mind. (The reason for the high level, of course, is that the warlock is mounted on a winter wolf :)) |

EDIT: Whups, forgot that it required level 9-12 to pull off. Never mind. (The reason for the high level, of course, is that the warlock is mounted on a winter wolf :)) Mounted Warlocks are fun. I used to have Kobold Warlock riders as antagonists. Use the Invocation Call of the Beast to get a decent creature as a mount. Its a DM call but nice in flavor. "Oh no, my mount died in combat!" "Fear not, I shall call another one." "BBEEEEEAAAASSSTTTTMMMAAAASSSSTTTEEEERRRR !" I haven't looking into using Feats like Obtain Familiar and then get a more combat orientated familiar and then use that as your mount. That might be better as I would rule at least that you can share Warlock buffs with your familiar. Entropic Warding, eat your heart out. Strongheart Halfling Fighter / Warlock / Halfling Outrider Sounds like fun to me! |
| Kelmourne12-17-07, 11:01 AM | Dragon Shaman too? Just curious. Am I to understand that people actually enjoyed the Dragon Shaman Class? I mean it's basically a dragon diciple, but now in a shiny new class form. It's really lame. |

| Kelmourne12-17-07, 06:04 PM | Oh theres no doubt it's good. MOST of the classes in PHB II are overpowered. I just think that the idea and concept of one is lame. It can be as balanced or overpowered as it bloody-well wants to be but it's still lame. |
| doink121212-17-07, 06:38 PM | Dragon Shaman is a really fun class, and really entertaining to gestalt with. Dragon Shaman / Cleric: Dragon Shaman's fast healing aura frees up fun spells for the cleric to cast. Dragon Shaman / Druid (PHBII Alt Class Feature): At will you can turn into a rapid monkey that breaths fire. I actually convinced a DM once to allow me to be a flying Koala bear once. It was awesome. Back to mounted Warlocks: Drow of the Underdark made a bunch of cool feats for riding mounted spiders. A drow warlock with a spider mounted is just a fun idea. IMO But anyway, Back to my campaign concept, any pertinent thoughts or should I post with more info about how it is going to work. Storylines, Houserules, etc? |
